He doesn't say he's to be redeemed, only that he'd like him to be.

Loki is just a spoiled brat in the Marvel films. he believes he is owed everything NOW. Of course that does not make him wholly evil. But "a good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad the good" lol. If these heroes let him first invade and then tell him that it's ok because he's redeemed himself they're really shallow because he does things in the full knowledge that it's going to hurt others. he's a rational character, not a complete madman like the Joker who is not responsible for what he does.

Well Loki really has to go the extra mile if Thor is gonna forgive him, surely?

He tried to kill Thor. The he actually did kill Coulson.

Thats alot to make up for.

Unless they team up to fight a greater evil - thats the vibe I am getting.

Surtur? Ymir? Someone else I haven't thought about yet??

Oh and I thought the most interesting fact on that timeline Marvel released was that Odin plants the Tesseract on the Earth about 400 years after the invasion of the Jotuns.

Wonder why he did that?

But yeah I do think it's probably the way it will go. There was even a glimpse of it in The Avengers..of course he went back to being a bastard. But I hope if he does redeem himself that it's not a full, clean cut forgiveness, He's done to many evil things for us to be able to buy him as a good guy. It's like Ben Linus in Lost..I'm supposed to like this prick now just because the writers tell me too? He [frick]ing killed John Locke!

@Orphix Thor will say "Ok I forgive you, after all its just Coulson"

The asgardians were fighting the Jotuns both on Earth and on Jotunheim. so technically no one was guarding Asgard. Any infiltration made wouldve given Odin the thought that its not safe to keep all the treasures in the vault. So he hides the tesseract on Earth. Years later he sends Balder to track down Amora and Skurge and make sure that they're not looking for the tesseract. Its possible The casket was the first treasure followed by the tesseract. The other treasures mightve come sometime after.

Marvel is on the brink of creating the cinematic equivalent of comics. We're on the verge of getting a new Marvel(made) movie every six months. And each of those movies is interconnected. It's literally grand scale comics, with new issues coming out at regular intervals with fans eagerly awaiting their arrival. It begs the question as to how long this will last before it gets to be too much. But they've essentially expanded the comic fan base by like 1000 fold.

Imagine if Loki really did apologise with muffins. That'd be some really surreal shit right there.

Loki's like - "Hi Dad, I know I betrayed you and took over the kingdom when I found out I was adopted, then tried to take over Midgard with the help of an intergalactic cosmic entity bent on universal domination, but I was wondering if we could let bygones be bygones. Now, I know it's a lot to ask, and before you say anything, I brought these amazing blueberry muffins with me when Thor brought me back here. I'd like you to have them, as a peace offering. We cool?"

And then Odin's like - "I take from you... you're power! And I cast you out!" and hits Loki through a portal after he takes the muffins from him.

Well he murdered Coulson right in front of Thor so the forgiving part would be long off..but Thanos henchman warned Loki that there is nowhere he could hide from Thanos if he didn't get him the Tesseract so I would expect a retaliation from Thanos towards Asgard and Loki. Thor and the rest would obviously band together to protect Asgard and the Tesseract. See but while I type that I feel Thor would recruit the Avengers to help if Thanos wages war on Asgard. It just feels bigger than a Thor 2 plot. Maybe if Hulk and Iron Man joined Thor in Thor 2 to help. The girl in me wonders how to bring it back around to reuniting Jane Foster with Thor without retreading the "aliens invade earth" plot again.

@marknjo

sarcasm? or reading me wrong ?
If you are saying TDKR is a retread plotline- I agree that I'm done with the 'real' Batman constantly fighting off the League of Shadows or their agents. I want to see the character that was established in Batman TAS or Justice League. That Batman was fierce and believably could hold his own against JL members if he had to. Nolan's Batman is not built to hang with any superhero in DC which is what Nolan wanted but I look at Bale's Batman and I feel like Black Widow could kick his ass.

Dear Marvel
You have successfully invaded earth now move on battles on Asgard, home grown terrorist threats like the Ten Rings,Masters of Evil,Baron Zemo and Ultron(please Ultron!!)
Other than that I have loved every Marvel movie and only one DC movie- Batman Begins. Although I loved Ledger as Joker- Bale ruins the movie with throat cancer and the under used and misused Two Face was a fail for me.

I don't think Thanos is going to show up in Thor 2 well not as the main villain not even after Loki's fail. He will now want to test the power of EMH after they took out his army, this is a being that wants to rule the galaxy and now there is a threat in his way.
