President Obama Loved Anne Hathaway's Performance In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

The debate surrounding The Dark Knight Rises is still going strong at CBM and it seems that the POTUS wants to join in the discussion. So what exactly did the President of the United States have to say about the film?

Said President Obama on the film and Anne Hathaway's performance, “She’s spectacular. I got a chance to see Batman, and she was the best thing in it. That’s just my personal opinion.”

Ha, even the President of the United States knows to end that sentence carefully, less he spark a series of angry rebuttals from internet trolls. This quote from the POTUS came at a fundraising dinner that was hosted by Anne Hathaway among others so maybe he was speaking his mind or maybe he was just being nice. Although, he didn't say he liked the film, only that she was 'the best thing in it.' GOP constituents could have a field day dissecting that statement.

It's being reported that out of the entire TDKR cast, Hathaway may have the best chance for an Oscar nomination.

Yay for her. (now let the political mud slinging fest begin!)
darkmetal - 8/7/2012, 5:25 AM
She was awesome and like Ledger, blew away the Haters!!

As for Oscars, every actor did great. But some parts were better than others. The best character arc in the film was Bruce Wayne.
Selina Kyle and John Blake had great arcs as well but not as epic as Bruce's.
Oldman's Gordon had a great role, as did Alfred but his was cut short.
Lots of great parts and acting in the film.

I have to admit, before TDKR I didn't think Hathaway could pull off the role. She nailed it.
MrReese - 8/7/2012, 5:30 AM

The overall acting in the film was fantastic. Nolan has the power to cast real actors, look at the cast;

Oscar winner Bale
Oscar nom Hathaway
Oscar winner Caine
Oscar nom Oldman
Oscar winner Freeman
Oscar winner Cottilard
BAFTA winner Hardy
Golden Globe nom Gordon-Levitt

Outstanding cast and acting. Everyone gave amazing preformances.

Hey Odumba, focus your attention on unemployment that has been above 8% for 41 consecutive months, illegal immigration, and out of control government spending for starters instead of something as insignificant as an individual performance in a movie. You'll stoop to whatever low you can to get more campaign donations. Shut up and try doing your friggin' job for a change.
Godzillafart - 8/7/2012, 5:34 AM
@Catwoman1: Agreed. I have to admit, even Bale (a great actor who was just terrible in the first two Batfilms) put in a great performance in TDKR.

Still not a good choice for Batman, but a solid performance.
MisterFixit - 8/7/2012, 5:35 AM
lol Obama seeing the movie: "WTF!!Where the hell the government is?"
Ichaos - 8/7/2012, 5:35 AM

MarkJulian - 8/7/2012, 5:41 AM
@SteveRogerson Pretty sure the downward spiral started under Bush.
Batmansucks - 8/7/2012, 5:41 AM

damntree - 8/7/2012, 5:42 AM
@ Darth - I doubt Obama is going to read this article.

MrReese - 8/7/2012, 5:44 AM

Redhood10 - 8/7/2012, 5:44 AM
No one gives a shit about what Obama, and his opinion on a Batman movie. Maybe he should be worried about running a country, I wonder why our economy sucks.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 5:45 AM
What a coincidence Mr. President because your performance in the Whitehouse totally sucks! PRESIDENT OBAMA: why stupid people shouldnt vote.
RunDTC - 8/7/2012, 5:46 AM
who cares what this asshat thinks about the movie?
Jollem - 8/7/2012, 5:46 AM
michael caine punched me in the throat and made my eyes well up right off the bat

right off the bat...ha! :/

i pretty much dislike political stuffs and politicians, red or blue or whatever color. so that being said, if you dislike obama and criticize him for not doing president stuff 24/7, what would you say about bush jr. being on vacation for 1/3 of his eight year run?
OrsonRandall - 8/7/2012, 5:46 AM
Bet he loved her ass too.
RunDTC - 8/7/2012, 5:47 AM
Hathaway did surprise me with her performance, mostly because she sucks in everything else, but she does not deserve an Oscar.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 5:49 AM
@Markjulian-pretty sure the downward spiral started under Clinton with the bursting of the .Com bubble but go ahead and have at your revisionist history and play fast and loose with those pesky facts.
Nomis1800 - 8/7/2012, 5:52 AM
I think Michael Caine deserves an Oscar nomination. That was intense!

Hathaway was absolutely wonderful as Selina/Catwoman, she IS the character!! Loved her role in the film.
Bladezer0 - 8/7/2012, 5:53 AM
I must be the only person that thinks Tom Hardy should get a Oscar!
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 5:57 AM
@Jollem- maybe so but relativly not by much. Also concider Bush and Reagan spent their vacations at their respective ranches which were more like second offices while Obama spends our tax payer money on extravagant trips for his extended family ( entourage ) at astronomical costs.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:00 AM
just amazing how this President-King-Messiah is so insulated by the main stream media...talk about carrying water for the guy...sheesh.
Emanuel14 - 8/7/2012, 6:03 AM
MrReese aaw, so cute Bane
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:04 AM
@blackandyellow-and thank god he didnt because Obamas promises are America's demise. At least Clinton had a Republican House to keep him centered. Obama had a wide open opportunity. I say we dodged a bullet for the most part.
NerdyDarkPassenger - 8/7/2012, 6:04 AM
@MrReese where'd you get the gif for your thumbnail?
MarkJulian - 8/7/2012, 6:05 AM
@gaikinger Oh yeah, those years under Clinton were tough and lean.... Bush and his shortsighted policies put this country under. Where we were 4 years ago was a lot worse than where we are today. That said, we've plateaued under Obama, well short of the things he promised. We're still a fair ways away from the glory days but would a GOP agenda carry us over the hump back to prosperity or can the current liberal regime find a way to get over the current roadblocks and jumpstart growth again. That's the question we have to decide this November.
Jollem - 8/7/2012, 6:05 AM
@gaikinger - yeah, i dislike politicians. i do realize some work stuff happened at the ranches, but there was also a good amount of sluff-off time. i compare it to a good chunk of college kids in america at their "jobs" where they screw around on the internet :)
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:07 AM
We cannot afford four more years of Obama....Romney 2012.
MrReese - 8/7/2012, 6:10 AM
@BlueyAsylum I have no idea dude haha I smoke a lot. XD
MrReese - 8/7/2012, 6:11 AM
@BlueyAsylum oh wait i think it was on some Nolan Fans forums. They have a thread of TDKR gifs n shit.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:11 AM
@Markjulian- the fact is that the prosperity you speak of was set in motion by George the first and Clinton jumped right in fron of the parade with a gushing liberal media there to give him all the credit. Give a read to some of the books by the great Dr. Thomas Sowell and get back to me.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:17 AM
@Jollem- well you can go ahead and write rhetorical conjecture til the cows come home but if you look back at what was going on during their administrations, the ranches were set up as second offices with minimal taxpayer costs like those run up on Obama's extravagances.
gaikinger - 8/7/2012, 6:19 AM
...unlike the taxpayer costs paying for Obama's extravagances that is.

Lert - 8/7/2012, 6:23 AM
The "DOUCHEBAG" of America... !
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 8/7/2012, 6:24 AM
Yay for politics! Doubt he saw the movie, he was just being nice.

"Although, he didn't say he liked the film, only that she was 'the best thing in it."

Nice job at trying to start a flame war in your comment section Mark. Hopefully no one bites.

RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 8/7/2012, 6:26 AM
Romney will never be president. I'm not saying I completely hate the GOP, but Romney is a horrible nomination. Then again everyone they threw out there during the debates was awful.
prettynuclear2 - 8/7/2012, 6:29 AM
Romney isn't really a knockout republican. He switches sides often and even supported abortion.
