So, what did you guys think of Deadshot (played by actor Michael Rowe)? And what about that little tease of Black Canary?

DC COMICS' VILLAIN DEADSHOT SETS HIS SIGHTS ON ARROW — Oliver is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn't appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter is one of the bidders. Realizing he can’t protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance's help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel and Tommy get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver. Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg.

And here's a promo for next week's episode 1x04 titled An Innocent Man.

I'm enjoying Arrow so far.
Hellsboy - 10/24/2012, 6:12 PM
deadsot getting one line was so stupid! i couldnt connect with him whatsoever the episode was ok but not great
ItsATrap - 10/24/2012, 6:20 PM
should have had more deadshot. he had better come back. that ending was more anti-climactic than Bane getting shot in TDKR
LP4 - 10/24/2012, 6:25 PM
@hellsboy- I live on the west coast so it hasn't played here yet. but are you POSITIVE he only had ONE line???

From the teaser it seemed like he had at least 2 lines- "I will kill you and your family" and of course "I admire your work"

If only one line, then that is [frick]ing stupid of the writing staff
pixar - 10/24/2012, 6:26 PM
With great power comes great responsibility
MarkJulian - 10/24/2012, 6:26 PM
He had more than one line but he definitely stayed in the periphery. They used him sparingly so that he can come back for a future ep.

Arrow 1.03 was a vast, major leap and bound improvement from the Pilot.
Arrow seemed more of a detective than any live action version of Batman.
All of the plotlines were handled very well and used to deliver some interesting moments.
In this episode the strength was in the character interactions and the suspense of awaiting their reactions to certain conflicts and situations.
The show did not slow down to focus on Deadshot or give us scenes of Deadshot delivering cool one liners or committing acts of badassery which was a very big plus.
Instead the show made the plots interesting and Deadshot was just a character used to advance the plot not sell him as a cool character.
It was a very intense and well done hour of TV that made me wish for more.
Hellsboy - 10/24/2012, 6:35 PM
@LP4 yes he only spoke once and those are in the same scene
Hellsboy - 10/24/2012, 6:38 PM
my bad 2 lines but still same scene
misner89 - 10/24/2012, 6:41 PM
just alittle bit more deadshot woulda been better but meh there seting him up for a better come back mark my words and his custume will be even better...

this show keeps getting better has my veiw
IgnurRant - 10/24/2012, 6:41 PM
Honestly, this was horrible episode IMO. The character story continues to be great as we explore the cast and their motives/background but the "Lone Gunman" story was just terrible. Deadshot was boring, the poison was cliché and the island flashback was horribly intercut and pointless. Really disappointed.

Ollie revealing his identity to Digs was cool however. Looking forward to see how that plays out.

The episode was lacking something i don't know what is was but its a good show.
vermillion - 10/24/2012, 6:59 PM
Needed more Deadshot, but the episode was still good.

Can't wait til Episode 5, "Damages" to see Deathstroke.
LP4 - 10/24/2012, 7:12 PM
@misner89- Doubt they'll ever put Deadshot in his costume. Smallville avoided it and so did Arrow. Which is sad. I always loved his costume. They could easily adapt it to a real world setting- just darken the color tones of the suit, maybe a darker red and yellow. Hell if they wanted they could even go with his "Arkham City" look.

miggyman24 - 10/24/2012, 7:14 PM
loved it.. i admeyer your work!!
GLprime2814 - 10/24/2012, 7:33 PM
I really liked it b
misner89 - 10/24/2012, 7:37 PM
@LP4 That would be amazing if they went with a dark tone just like the show has been but hey if they wantted to go with the arkham city look that would be even more badass
LP4 - 10/24/2012, 7:49 PM
@misner- I totally agree with you man, I LOVED his Arkham City look. But eh.

I really thought THAT would be what he'd get in Arrow but instead...we just got a regular guy with oversized eyepiece. =(
Wingding - 10/24/2012, 8:10 PM
Really liked this episode. Thought it was cool that Dig finally knows Oliver is Green Arrow. I think Thea will be the next to find out. It would be neat to see - later in the series - Oliver training Thea to be his sidekick (Speeeedy). And I had no idea Felicity Smoak was in the comics :P
Knightstalker - 10/24/2012, 8:14 PM
It just started here in the PST zone. For some reason the music is coming through but not the dialogue. Guess I better brush up on my lip reading.
Sargerus - 10/24/2012, 8:18 PM
Am I the only one who thought Deadshot's death was really anti-climax?
WruceBayne - 10/24/2012, 8:27 PM
The episode was ok. But Deadshot looked like garbage. How hard would it have been to give him a ski mask, size down that eyepiece and give him a trench coat?
IDKwhatToChoose - 10/24/2012, 8:36 PM
Leave it to CW to frick up Deadshot twice... smh. I like the show but is anyone else annoyed with the guy playing Queen. I really hope they make him more of a hero. At least this episode we didn't see him murder anyone
RorMachine - 10/24/2012, 8:42 PM
He had 3 lines, and he was [frick]ing rubbish. He wasn't even a good shot! Just randomly shooting the crap out of party guests until he hits his target? Really wasted opportunity there I think. If he comes back fair enough but they still should have used him more in the dam ep named after him.

Still, all in all I did actually enjoy the ep. The characters have grown on me a bit more and script seems tighter. Still a lot of problems but not bad.
CharacterAssassin - 10/24/2012, 9:05 PM
Really interested what the bodyguard has to say now... lol
jimpinto24 - 10/24/2012, 9:07 PM
I thought tonight's episode was good. It wasn't action packed like last week & I wish Deadshot would have got more face time. I also like Dinah kicking some ass! I thought of Black Canary. Overall, it was a good episode.
Super12 - 10/24/2012, 9:13 PM
I wish we saw more of Deadshot, I feel he didn't get his dues. And since I'm pretty sure you can't come back from an arrow through the eye socket I was a little disappointed there. Otherwise, I'm loving the show!
beezness - 10/24/2012, 9:18 PM
@ RorMachine it was stated that his targets were everyone betting in that auction (other than the guy who hired him/got arrested), not just the father-in-law. Also enjoying the action, nice to see agility in fight scenes again :p Deadshot worked as a character serving the story rather than the story serving the character. Hope the improving keeps going, c'mon Deathstroke!
gmoney0505 - 10/24/2012, 9:27 PM
Another great episode. The story is what matters most and they keep having great stories each episodes. As each episode progresses, everyone is getting comfortable in their roles and the acting is getting really great. Even Amell is getting better at doing the voice-overs.

I am liking the Diggle character and the actor that is playing him. Hope we get to see more of Diggle past and learn about his brother death and why he has chosen the profession.
REDSTORM - 10/24/2012, 9:39 PM
I liked it. I would not be surprised to see Deadshot return with an implant in his skull.
GUNSMITH - 10/24/2012, 10:07 PM
HE NEEDED A PARTNER, DIGGS IS PERFECT FOR THAT.
Martoq - 10/24/2012, 11:13 PM
Anyone else notice one of Deadshot's tattoos, located on the upper right chest was Andrew Diggle? Tought it was an outstanding episode, looking forward to see more of how Digg and Ollie's friendship plays out.
WildCard12 - 10/24/2012, 11:23 PM
@knightstalker. I was having the same problem I could hear the music and sounds but not the talking so I didn't watch it and will just wait till it come up on the cw app.
DCjohnny - 10/25/2012, 1:31 AM
wow... this episode was amazing.... was surprised to see Dinah 'Laurel' Lance kicking some ass..... but did did green arrow just killed deadshot.... oh come on.... i dont want him dead..... and the climax was exciting...
DCjohnny - 10/25/2012, 1:40 AM
did anyone noticed the easter egg - jim gordan name was mentioned on the chest of deadshot , well not exactly it was written jim gordan but was like jim pate , gordan ver... something.
charlie2094 - 10/25/2012, 3:26 AM
Loved this episode! Shame Deadshot ended up dead, hoped they'd have left it like they did with China White, so that he could potentially come back. Had some great action and good characterisation, liked the tease of 'Black Canary' too.

Hope the show continues to go strongly, loving it so far.
rebellion - 10/25/2012, 4:40 AM
i actually really liked this one. let's hope it gets even better.
Gamma022 - 10/25/2012, 4:42 AM
@Martoq
Damn i was about to point that out :)
Glad someone else noticed it too
mr2324jgf - 10/25/2012, 5:16 AM
You clowns crack me up. Andrew Diggle was written on deadshots chest, indicating we haven't seen the last of him or his story with Dig. Also, you all bitched and moaned and groaned about wanting the helmet, and sad he looked foolish before the episode even aried... you think maybe they let him go down in this one so easily so they can build a return, possibly with a helmet that will make him more protected, able to hear hooded dudes in the dark better? 2012... the year of GIVE IT TO ME NOW OR I'LL COMPLAIN!!!! Sit back... relax... and watch. Stop being cry babies about every little thing. Big Belly Burgers being in the episode was a plus for me... a metropolis franchise in Starling City... perhaps giving a nod to the boy scout afterall?
BlackFlash - 10/25/2012, 6:20 AM
@Nomis - That's the one thing I didn't want to happen, I really do hate it when there are people so close to the hero and have seen there alter ego and cant put two and two together, this is something that happens in comics/tv and movies to often it not only makes the character look stupid but it's like the creators think the readers/viewers are stupid as well.

Diggs knew that Oliver was putting on an act right from the beginning and after seeing what he did last week, he would look like a complete idiot if he didn't find out who he was by the end of the season, now lets see how this plays out.
