COMICS: Scott Snyder To Leave SWAMP THING

Looks like Scott Snyder is wrapping up his magnificent run on Swamp Thing. Goes without saying that fans of the series will be a little bummed out but Snyder does have Man of Steel looming and something had to give.

Swamp Thing is one of those relatively obscure yet fan favorite comic book titles that have seen greats such as Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar, Bryan K Vaughn and host of others put their stamp on Swampy over the years. Recently, Snyder was currently in the midst of his own Swamp Thing run but it should come as no surprise that with Man of Steel (w/ Jim Lee) and a new Vertigo title on the way, Snyder would have to lessen his workload. DC wouldn't let him drop Batman even if he wanted to so Swamp Thing was the inevitable casualty here.

No word on who will be taking over the title.

Could this be the book that Starlin is writing?
GoILL - 12/10/2012, 11:53 AM
Never read Swamp Thing but I heard nothing but good things about it, hopefully whoever takes over can continue to do a good job.

I like his Swamp Thing run but this Rotworld storyline is really dragging on too long. Almost considered dropping it until it's over, but with only two more issues until it's over I'll hang on to it. Hopefully we aren't given a 6-issue POST-Rotworld series to endure.

Had to drop Swamp Thing a while back simply because of money issues but I loved it!
RobLiefeldFan - 12/10/2012, 12:11 PM
OMG Rob Liefeld should take the job and put this talentless hack in his place after dissing Rob, he would be good for this role, he should take over art duties to, we seriously need a new liefeld book out in the stores, DC need to get him back. Liefeld back on art and writing duties

Considering he's writing the man of steel series I can see why.

Always wanted to check out his Swamp Thing run. Now I'll just get the TPB.

MOS comic series will come out the same month as the movie?

I'm really bummed out man. Finally had something good going with Swamp Thing, but hopefully this decision won't hurt it much.
