[frick] Liefeld. It would be lonely. The power would be incredible, but there is a lot of pressure. The choices you would have to make, devoting your life to helping others when you could just live life simply instead.
AnotherSinisterClone - 12/11/2012, 11:54 AM
good god no. who let rob liefeld write online. he does enough damage just drawing pictures.
KryptoniteSmoker - 12/11/2012, 11:54 AM
Some of those tweets sounded quite dumb. Can't wait for this movie, the most I've ever anticipated a movie in my life.
Jordanstine - 12/11/2012, 11:57 AM
Liked it but was a little disappointed... I guess I was expecting a little more.

And that Kevin Costner line...
lalosuper3001 - 12/11/2012, 11:57 AM
Oh NO!! Rob Liefeld hates it!
CANCEL THE MOVIE! CANCEL THE MOVIE!!

LOL
pud333 - 12/11/2012, 11:57 AM
Good god no? Ironic, since that is the exact same reaction i have whenever I see Liefeld's work
JDUKE25 - 12/11/2012, 11:59 AM
@Jordanstine the line makes sense. He's being overprotective of his alien child and is somewhat in a state of panic. I'm sure the whole, "You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be" line will come soon after that "maybe" line.
JDUKE25 - 12/11/2012, 12:02 PM
@MrEko haha i expect him to say exactly that lmao
HavocPrime - 12/11/2012, 12:02 PM
Liefeld can put that tweet in his pouch, and then walk away on his own two badly drawn feet.
DEATHbyEXILE - 12/11/2012, 12:03 PM

Look at the usual suspects overreacting to the slightest hint of negativity. YAWN. Trailer looks good, movie shows a ton of promise, but come on people...
Battabing - 12/11/2012, 12:09 PM
Rob Liefeld hates it?

Oh, well thank God!
PapaMidnight - 12/11/2012, 12:10 PM
"If he's just punching stuff, it's no better than a "Transformers" movie." - This dude speaks the truth!

and... Liefeld being a moron as usual. * embarassed facepalm*
Battabing - 12/11/2012, 12:11 PM
Who's Jordan D. White?
bigshow2312 - 12/11/2012, 12:13 PM

Rob Liefield trailer - "It's so hard being me...I'm so talentless"

Oh wait, no one would ever make a Rob Liefield movie.
JerBear - 12/11/2012, 12:15 PM
Liefeld... he's a walking joke. There's almost nothing you can't make fun of him about.
ACira - 12/11/2012, 12:17 PM
Why does Liefield even have a twitter account? He must have like, 2 followers, both of whom have inhumanly large pecs and severely misshapen feet. Unless they're following him ironically, in order to mock him.

I think a general rule of thumb to follow is that if Liefield likes something, it's probably shit, and if he doesn't like something, there's a good chance it'll be amazing. Talentless hack, he's just a glorified costume designer.
JM4Superman - 12/11/2012, 12:19 PM
[frick] Liefield and Jordan D. White
OdinsBeard - 12/11/2012, 12:19 PM
lol at some of these, liefeld especially. there's just no pleasing some people. and whotf is jordan white and why do people follow him?
SageMode - 12/11/2012, 12:20 PM
Liefeld, the guy that draws characters that look like theyve gone through plastic surgery done by Stevie Wonder, really has no business "critiquing" someone else's work.

But im a worried about the tone of the film. I hope it doesnt turn out to be some somber-toned, melodramatic superhero flick.
ACira - 12/11/2012, 12:21 PM
He's already deleted the tweet! Either that, or I'm not very twitter savvy. Could be either one really.
silverdog - 12/11/2012, 12:25 PM
well, I guess after they are done with Kevin Smith the nolanite angry mob is taking their torches and pitchforks to Liefield's house...
AmericanPsychoWolf - 12/11/2012, 12:28 PM
It's not even Nolan's film. Its Snyders.^

JM4Superman - 12/11/2012, 12:30 PM
And Nolan mentioned that the tone of the film will not be like the Dark Knight Trilogy
Preston - 12/11/2012, 12:32 PM

Don't want supes grim.

-Jordan D. White

Couldn't agree more.

mawilli4 - 12/11/2012, 12:32 PM
to everyone talking about Kevin Costner's "Maybe" line.. you ever heard of editing. that's the beginning of a sentence. Jesus. see the movie before you judge it. the trailer definitely had me amped though.
ACira - 12/11/2012, 12:33 PM
Didn't Jaimie Alexander audition for Lois? Or am I getting my wires crossed?

@silverdog people have been doing that since before Nolanites existed. Liefeld sucks.
KaneVonDoom - 12/11/2012, 12:34 PM
I am really looking forward to this movie big time, but after that trailer I am scared it's going to be alot of the same rehashed material we've seen before in Superman flicks.
BigDamnHero - 12/11/2012, 12:36 PM
Why is Rob Liefeld still a thing? He should have been left in the 90's where his crappiness was slightly more tolerable.
Viltrumite - 12/11/2012, 12:38 PM
"I love Superman. And I like him to have some emotional weight. If he's just punching stuff, it's no better than a "Transformers" movie."

He's acting as if we've ever gotten any real action in a Superman film before. Granted, if this were a brainless punch-fest, I'd agree, but this film looks like it's going to have a lot of heart and emotional heft to it. Maybe it's just the shock of seeing Superman actually throwing a punch on screen; it's a sight no one's used to.
jazzman - 12/11/2012, 12:42 PM
@KaneVonDoom

i doubt that cause Snyder going to bring something new. remember people are saying the same thing for Star Trek we will see something fresh.
ArtisticErotic - 12/11/2012, 12:43 PM
Can someone show me in the trailer where it says or shows Superman being GRIMM?

Nolan has already said this movie won't be like his Batman movies. So for the last [frick]ing time stop saying this movie is dark, grimm and edgy cause it's not. The correct term is maybe Melodramtic or surreal not GRIMM.
DioFoRio - 12/11/2012, 12:45 PM
it's gonna be good!!!!
JM4Superman - 12/11/2012, 12:45 PM
@ArtisticErotic I agree it's not grimm. It's better than Returns
DRMidNite - 12/11/2012, 12:50 PM
Why does ANYONE care what Rob Liefield says anymore?
jazzman - 12/11/2012, 12:51 PM
to the people who wants the know the names of the music used in the trailer here are the names and music

Lisa Gerrard & Patrick Cassidy - Elegy

Elizabeth: The Golden Age (soundtrack)by Craig Armstrong & A.R. Rahman storm - Storm

Jollem - 12/11/2012, 12:52 PM
oh, mr. gunn. your movie might be good too :)
CrimsonReign - 12/11/2012, 12:54 PM
WOW!!!
ArtisticErotic - 12/11/2012, 12:54 PM
@JM4Superman

My point exactly.

Melodrama - Refers to a dramatic work that exaggerates plot and characters in order to appeal to the emotions.(Which is what Man Of Steel is doing)

Grim- Hastly, repellent, or sinister in character. ( Not what this movie is doing at all).

Learn the differenc people especially so these so called professional comic book writers/artist.
ACira - 12/11/2012, 12:56 PM
This will certainly be a darker take on Superman, but that's not to say he'll become a brooding, intimidating character like Batman, just that it'll be a more serious and grounded take on the character than we've seen before. I actually imagine that the tone (and scale) to this film will be like a mix of Inception and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, in that it'll be very serious, visually spectacular, emotionally charged, and on an epic scale.
JM4Superman - 12/11/2012, 1:01 PM
This movie is going to be hot
thespiderkat - 12/11/2012, 1:04 PM
"I love Superman. And I like him to have some emotional weight. If he's just punching stuff, it's no better than a "Transformers" movie."

what? 10 years of teen angst clark kent in smallville, and the loser deadbeat dad from superman returns are not enough?. you can have a good complex script without all the corny drama, the messiah complex, and without superman joining the whiny emo-pushovers club with webb's spiderman and nolan's batman.

if anything can make this movie flop, is wussyfying superman to make him look more "dramatic and human". that shit worked for nolan's bino, but not for an alien demigod with a power for every occasion.
CaptainObvious - 12/11/2012, 1:05 PM
"Re: Superman trailer " it's so hard being me...I'm so lonely " ....Good God no."

Like you would know something about happiness, Liefeld. Nobody ever smiles in your work. They just bitch and moan and pose awkwardly. More brilliance from the man who brought us Youngblood.
Otter2269 - 12/11/2012, 1:06 PM
Movie looks great, for an origin story anyway. It will probably pick up steam after this one just like the spidey trilogy did. Yes, I know the 3rd was horrible.
ACira - 12/11/2012, 1:06 PM
@thespiderkat nothing in Smallville or Superman Returns was emotional weight, it was all just convoluted and poor writing that relied too heavily on nostalgia for Chris Reeves' Superman films. True emotion is something that is completely necessary in any movie, you need a level of emotional weight in a movie in order to engage with a character. The audience needs to be able to sympathize with, or detest, a character on screen. Films are meant to be an emotional experience. They can make you laugh, or break your heart, or inspire you, if emotion is handled properly.

I can't believe anyone would actually want to watch 2 hours of a character just punching things. Anyone looking for that should go watch a boxing or wrestling match. That's not what movies are about. Emotion in film does not make them 'emo' (I hate that word), it makes them believable, it brings them to life. They'd be robots if they were emotionless.

And Superman lends himself perfectly to a truly emotional film. His family, his entire race, is extinct. He's an outcast, and he's unsure of why he's different. He's raised by parents who love him, although they can never truly understand him. He has the potential to be hated by everyone. He could level cities and raze the Earth if he wanted, and he could cause disasters by accident, so he constantly has to restrain himself. He's fully aware of the atrocities humanity is capable of, yet he still wants to help us. He finally meets up with members of his own species, and has an opportunity to learn who he is, but they turn out to be evil, and he has to choose between learning who he is, and the people he swore to protect. He's a selfless character, and that means he has to sacrifice a lot. And with sacrifice, comes a lot of emotion.

Yes, people, Liefeld is a d-bag, but if anyone else had post that, you'd take it with a grain of salt. Personally, and yes, because HE said it, I hate to admit this, but I agree with him...

I don't want a sad, sob-story Superman.
TheAbomination - 12/11/2012, 1:10 PM
Oh, Gunn!! You're f*ucking hilarious. Here's hoping Man of Steel and GOTG both kick ass.
