All things considered, 2012 was a pretty good year for comic books. That's not to say that they year was devoid of controversy, disputes or disappointments but both Marvel and DC have to be pleased with their companies' fiscal performance. IDW and Image also make strides this year. It was a hard choice after reading over 300 issues this year but here are my top 5 panels of the year.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #8
Martian Manhunter laying a beat down on the entire Justice League. 'Nuff said.
w: Geoff Johns
a: Ivan Reis
colorist: Gabe Eltaeb

DAREDEVIL: END OF DAYS #1
Warning: Violence. Lots and lots of violence.
w: Brian Michael Bendis & David Mack
a: Janson & Sienkiewicz
colorist: Matt Hollingsworth

SAGA #4
Weird, strangely sexy and funny, Saga is the indie hit of the year.
w: Brian K. Vaughn
a:Fiona Staples
colorist: Fiona Staples

THE WALKING DEAD #100
One of the most shocking moments of the year.
w: Robert Kirkman
a: Charlie Adlard
colorist: Cliff Rathburn

JUSTICE LEAGUE #7
You could really pick a number of Green Lantern's panels from the early issues of Justice League but this one was my favorite. The book definitely misses his background humor.
w: Geoff Johns
a: George Ha
colorist: Art Lyons
