Looking at the progression of Spider-Man, one has to wonder if the entire Doc Ock bodyswap situation is simply a means to return Spider-Man to his loner, outcast status. Prior to Dying Wish, Parker was enjoying unprecedented success as both Peter and Spider-Man which goes against how he's traditionally depicted. Perhaps Ock-Spidey will hit rock bottom just in time for the real Peter Parker to return?
