Iron Man 3 runtime

Count me among the many fans concerned about the purported short runtime of Iron Man 3, but now you can put those fears to rest as the film's runtime has been officially confirmed for 2 hrs 10 min and 22 s. Now, we just need confirmation on the runtime for the Chinese version of Iron Man 3 to see just how much more Tony Stark fans located in the world's second biggest film market are receiving.

[Note: Runtime confirmed by clicking the link in the tweet.]

Based on Warren Ellis' Extremis storyline and following the box-office shattering events of Marvel's The Avengers, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has become the target of global terrorist The Mandarin (Sir Ben Kingsley) who has secretly been the mastermind behind most of the tragedies in Tony's life. Isolated from his fellow Avengers, Tony will have to devise his most advanced armor yet if he hopes to save the woman he loves, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Standing beside Tony as he takes on Mandarin's villainous allies and Ten Rings subordinates will be War Machine James Rhodey (Don Cheadle) who was conspicuously absent during the Chituari invasion in New York. Based on a screenplay by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and Drew Pearce (Godzilla, Sherlock Holmes 3).

MarkJulian - 4/11/2013, 7:01 AM
@LEVITIKUZ Plenty of people that come here are first-time visitors, plus it helps the site appear higher on search engines.
MarkJulian - 4/11/2013, 7:02 AM
@LEVITIKUZ Also helps the Iron Man articles not on the front page get some exposure.
AmazingFantasy - 4/11/2013, 7:07 AM

R888 - 4/11/2013, 7:07 AM

R888 - 4/11/2013, 7:08 AM
Hey don't pick on marvel72 cause he mention the dark knight, we don't need a 11 page flame war again. Please don't do that again
PsyGuy - 4/11/2013, 7:09 AM
Sounds perfect! 165m would have been too much probably.
OptimusPrimeTime - 4/11/2013, 7:10 AM
This is good news.

Having said that, yes, Tea. Please, tell us more!!

Any photos? I love me a good nubbin!!
Ramiel - 4/11/2013, 7:21 AM
Fandango has it listed 2 hours and 20 minutes.
MarkJulian - 4/11/2013, 7:22 AM
@blackandyellow You know, I've never thought about that. Think I'll go write an article on it.
MarkJulian - 4/11/2013, 7:23 AM
@TheHeat That was an unconfirmed runtime that originated on IMDb.
Brail1975 - 4/11/2013, 7:23 AM
I’m going to see it but seeing the Mandarin rockin sunglasses put me right off. It’s bad enough he’s not Asian. I go in looking to have fun though.
ATrueHero1987 - 4/11/2013, 7:24 AM
@MarkJulian that reminds. Someone last year wrote an article making predictions of how the cbms of 2013 will do. Did you write that article or was that Ror?
LucasMend - 4/11/2013, 7:27 AM
Nice, I don't like a running time too long for most of movies, but this is cool, after avengers, marvel is now making their movies a bit longer it seems. I loved their 1hour and 50 minute format before avengers, but 2:10 is good too, just don't go much further with other movies.
MarkJulian - 4/11/2013, 7:28 AM
@ATrueHero1987 I honestly don't remember, we've seen so many articles on the subject.
gillri - 4/11/2013, 7:33 AM
ha I just free tickets with SKY to go see it in 3D on 18th April!!!

bow before me!
Jollem - 4/11/2013, 7:37 AM
i hope people will be less with the whole "plot hole" thing this year, or at least state valid ones that actually matter
BigMikeReviews - 4/11/2013, 7:44 AM
@Jollem, I agree, fanboys think pointing out "plot holes" and regurgitating other people's observations is an indication of their intelligence. At the end of the day, if the film works as a whole (like TDKR did), nit picking can be a constructive way to discuss a film worth discussing, but more often than not use to discredit a movie.
jessepostal - 4/11/2013, 7:46 AM
Does that include the credits? Credits seem to get longer and longer as the years go by. We're looking at an hour and a half long movie here.
LucasMend - 4/11/2013, 7:48 AM
I think the movies which people say are incredible should have less plot holes, prometheus, spider-man. Actually a lot of shitty screenwriters are coming to big hollywood movies and screwing them. That guy who [frick]ed up lost and prometheus is on star trek 2, so well.

Plot hole is not becoming a thing everyone uses because doesn't like the movies, but mostly because a lot of movies last year had incredible awful plot holes and bad structures.
Jollem - 4/11/2013, 7:52 AM
@BigMikeReviews - i hear ya :)

on an iron man-related note, i'm still pissed that my favorite suit so far got the least love

MrMartinMarvel - 4/11/2013, 7:52 AM
I'm cool with this.
GodzillaKart - 4/11/2013, 7:53 AM
Perfect.
specialkail - 4/11/2013, 7:54 AM
I like that run time, especially when i thought captain america was a little too short.

Its nice that no one has said MAN OF STEEL: BEST MOVI EOF THE YEAR SUCKBALLS MARVEL FANBOYS!!1!

I really dont understand how people think they can predict which movies will be good or not.

Am i more excited about iron man? Yeah, because it comes out in three weeks. After that ill be more excited about superman, and then ill be more excited about wolverine, then kickass 2, then sin city, then thor2... or whatever the order is.

Do i have more faith in iron man or thor then say superman or wolverine?

Yes, because marvel studios has proven themselves to me 6 times over. Were they all amazing? No, iron man 2 wasn't great. And guess what? Eventually marvel's gonna make a terrible movie, it's inevitable.

*SPOILERS* Does the lack of kryptonite in superman make me worry? No! Kryptonite wasnt even in the comics for 10 years. It was introduced in the radio play. And since the villains r kryptonian, who gives a shit.

*end spoilers*

My point is, we're living in the golden age of comic book movies! Why not enjoy it? And save the bitching for after the movie.
InfiniteMonkey - 4/11/2013, 8:01 AM
Like we have a choice. Pay for the bloody ticket and sit there and watch the whole bit.

What, has anyone really walked out on any Iron Man movie regardless of time? LOL
Canon38 - 4/11/2013, 8:04 AM
130 minutes and 22 seconds of awesome.
Show4God1 - 4/11/2013, 8:07 AM
Thats not bad. However, if your one of the lucky ones who has an AMC theatre playing Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers then Iron Man 3....youll be sitting for a long while...

That is unless Marvel decided not to do it anymore.
ComicFan523 - 4/11/2013, 8:08 AM
Two hours and ten minutes is just right. Haven't been to the theater in ages, really looking forward to this movie.
specialkail - 4/11/2013, 8:11 AM
Show4god

I went to one of the amc avengers marathons w/ all the phase 1 movies. It was rough, but fun.
Jollem - 4/11/2013, 8:22 AM
@Mark42 - hells yes. i like the round shoulders and the colors were better than the mark 3. there's also no tacky silver accents all over the place. i like the pads on top of the hands and the whole torso is pretty cool
PC04 - 4/11/2013, 8:38 AM
More Iron-man for everyone!
R888 - 4/11/2013, 8:44 AM
Mandarin is going to blow some shit up
brazilianbatman - 4/11/2013, 8:54 AM
marvel72@ lol the dark knight rises was a great movie but not for everybody.it was not all action and colors, it was more introspective.
TheAbomination - 4/11/2013, 8:56 AM
Not too long, not too short. Seems like the right length to me.
dadisatish - 4/11/2013, 9:52 AM
so ... nothing more than the action....so boring...
DawnGreens - 4/11/2013, 10:12 AM
Strange. It's officially listed as 139 min here in Holland. Oh well.
marvel72 - 4/11/2013, 10:25 AM
@ TheYoungMan

so comparing one comic book movie to anothers run time is wrong now,2.10 hours compared 2.45 hours is better when watching a film at the cinema in those cramp seats, especially when your 6ft 3" & 230ILBS.

this why i only watched one lord of the rings film at the cinema & one transformers film at the cinema because of the length.

@ brazillianbatman

i'm on about the f*ckin run time not the quality of film.
dadisatish - 4/11/2013, 10:28 AM
saw iron man ...felt great... then i saw the same thing in iron man 2..... disappointed....then again saw the same action in avengers with other super heroes added....felt like iron man 3 with transformers....now iron man 3 comes with the same stuff again.....damn....
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/11/2013, 12:18 PM
Fine with that
BasedThanos - 4/11/2013, 12:27 PM
Sounds like a good run time. Not too long not too short.

@dadaisatich
Wtf are you bitching about man.
