Live-Action 'RUROUNI KENSHIN' Recieves 2 Sequels
The Japan produced live-action adaptation of the popular anime and manga, "Rurouni Kenshin" will reportedly receive not one but two more additional installments that cover the Kyota arc. Lead actor Takeru Sato confirmed to return in starring role.
Thursday's edition of the "Jump Square" magazine has leaked online early. Within its pages is an announcement that two additional live-action "Rurouni Kenshin" films have been officially given the green light with the first set to premiere next summer. Both films will cover the Kyoto arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's original manga, which sees Kenshin placed in circumstances that lead to a direct confrontation with the skilled swordsman who replaced him as the top assassin in the Ishin Shishi.
Lead actor Takeru Satoh will return as Kenshin. No further details on any other returning cast members at the moment. The first film performed higher than expected, earning ~$70 million dollars on a very modest budget.
