@TheSpiderAssassin

i dont know why anyone would bother seeing this in imax, i wouldn pay a premium to see a film up-scaled to fit a bit screen in the same way i wouldnt pay extra to see a film converted into 3d
forthesakeofnow - 3/9/2012, 5:07 PM
@TheSpiderAssassin

if u want to make a film to show at an imax cinema, use and imax camera, if you want to make your film 3d, use a 3d camera.

Got an email this week letting me know of this, a bit poor at the moment, hopefully tickets will be available in a fortnight.

AvengersRock - 3/9/2012, 5:23 PM
I'll be watching it in 2D the first time or two, but probably the 3rd time I see it I'll spring for the extra $3 and see what they did in 3D, just out of curiousity. I don't want to be distracted by it the first time I see it.
MarkV - 3/9/2012, 5:24 PM

NeoBaggins - 3/9/2012, 5:45 PM
eh, so they're getting it about a week earlier. *shrug* Only big deal is the loud mouths that will blurt out the money moments to people who don't want to be spoiled.
Ghostfire - 3/9/2012, 5:47 PM

headlopper - 3/9/2012, 7:24 PM
Hey, funny story. So My sister tags along with my bro and I to see 'John Carter'.
The trailer for the Avenger's pops up ,and she like , "That's the guy from Thor... and he's in another movie! And that's Downey ,Jr. too. HE'S in another movie!"
(She's got a crush on both-what chick doesn't!)

Then she's like ,"Wait! Are-are they in the SAME MOVIE?!"

I'm like, "Yeah". So she says : "REALLY.Are you kidding me!"

My bro's like, "YEAH, there in the same movie".

And then she started to flip out: "OMG! This movies going to be sooooo Awesome! I def want to go with you guy's for this one!"

Ohhh, it was priceless!

Just thought I'd share...
mgeoff88 - 3/9/2012, 7:28 PM
I have a friend in New Zealand. Maybe I should ask her to pick up a ticket for me. :P

I wonder if anyone on here in the US is actually going to fly overseas to see the movie earlier? That would be one dedicated CBMer. :)

@Just1Superguy When a great CBM comes out, whether it's a DC or Marvel movie. We all win. Period.
Lego - 3/9/2012, 7:43 PM
alot of virgins on here
superotherside - 3/9/2012, 7:46 PM
headlopper Great story my friend! ;) Thanks for sharing!
headlopper - 3/9/2012, 7:47 PM
@Lego - I'm a born-again virgin. Does that count?
headlopper - 3/9/2012, 7:53 PM
@superotherside - No prob.
Guess it's good to be 'in the loop'! lol!
MarkV - 3/9/2012, 8:03 PM
headlopper....I think a LOT of people are going to have the same reaction. The non geek community doesn't all get it yet. THEY ARE ALL IN THE SAME MASSIVE FILM!
superotherside - 3/9/2012, 8:14 PM
headlopper In the loop?
headlopper - 3/9/2012, 8:15 PM
@MarkV - Good point. I think you're right.

And so true! That's what blew her mind- that they were "ALL IN THE SAME FILM?!"
headlopper - 3/9/2012, 8:24 PM
superotherside - Yeah, it's a figure of speech.
Basically it means you're informed about something exclusively that most others aren't aware of.

For example: There's a cool party tonight but just a handfull of people know about it, and thus will be able to enjoy it, because their 'in the loop'.

We geek out here about CBM stuff, so most people don't know half the things we do about the subject. We're 'in the CBM loop' if you will!

Should I be embarrassed? lol!
peppy - 3/9/2012, 8:24 PM
April 25th IMAX Sydney ... Bring it.
beetheb - 3/9/2012, 9:13 PM
Just got back from John Carter. Seeing the Avengers trailer on the big screen in 3D was the best part of the movie for me. The 3D conversion looks well done.
Smokey - 3/9/2012, 9:18 PM
Australias had the tickets out for a few days, expect in one of the states (Queensland) we cant have a midnight session because the 25th is ANZAC day, and theres some rule where the cinemas can't do it, sooooo dumb. ahh welllll
JonasWepeel - 3/9/2012, 9:28 PM
Are we in the States going to be spoiled ?
Doctoro - 3/9/2012, 10:24 PM
2 1/2 hours. That makes me very happy. I think Joss is gonna need every second of that to tell a proper story.
EarOne - 3/9/2012, 10:53 PM
145 minutes...??!!! now, THAT's an AWESOME news!!!

my unbelievably high expectation for this movie suddenly just gets even HIGHER.
UltimateTypeface - 3/10/2012, 5:58 AM
you guys understand Australia and New Zealand are different countries right?
Lert - 3/10/2012, 7:09 AM
..Think about it... We're the ones who are lucky.. By the time it shows in America we would have already seen the "boot-leg" on-line so we wont have to go pay money to ssee it in the theaters? "WIN"
ckal - 3/10/2012, 7:29 AM
Lert-

Aside from being a pitiful poor bastard who doesn't want to spend $11....why would you not see the Avengers in theaters, but instead in poor quality on your comp?
RCatman23 - 3/10/2012, 8:48 AM
Ok so this might be a tiny bit off topic but did anyone see the Avengers preview in 3D. It was mind blowing, it was so awesome i almost cried.
SuperSoldier004 - 3/10/2012, 3:40 PM
It's so good to be a new zealander right now.
UltimateTypeface - 3/10/2012, 4:29 PM
kinda like calling a Canadian an American or a Scotsman an Englishman.

but we do both get to see the movie FIRST!
