Wait is this movie even out in the UK yet ?
STYGR8dotCOM - 7/29/2011, 11:29 AM
lol
PaulRom - 7/29/2011, 11:30 AM
@Thunderforce Yeah, I think it's been in the UK as long as the US.
Anyways, I hope they have a different box art for the US release, that image is really underwhelming.
andrew13 - 7/29/2011, 11:31 AM
If they really wanted this movie to succeed, they would erase all those disco light lines all over the costume. Makes me think I'm staring at an anatomy poster in my doctor's office.
Seriously though, taking the disco lights out of the costume may not make the story better but it will sure make that bad story easier on the eyes if Green Lantern had his owm simple costume on.
NerdReviews - 7/29/2011, 11:34 AM
@darkknightlegend I like you lol that was funyy
GLprime2814 - 7/29/2011, 11:37 AM

DarrkEvil - 7/29/2011, 11:40 AM

thedarknight923 - 7/29/2011, 11:43 AM
@darkknightlegend, hahaha so very true

Still think the collector's edition should be in a lantern shaped case, glows in the dark, and possibly says the oath if you click a button.

Oh, and that cover looks kinda fake. If it isn't, he should at least be wearing the mask on the cover.
forthesakeofnow - 7/29/2011, 11:44 AM
People really thing the studio would have paid out to do the visual effects on shots they didnt end up putting in the final movie? This isnt the lord of the rings extended editions, this is a film cut together and made by businessmen.

If anything it would be like Donners Superman 2, might be a bit more of story but surely it wouldnt all look seamless. Is that what you want?
JoshWilding - 7/29/2011, 11:48 AM
Pass.
drykillogic22 - 7/29/2011, 11:54 AM
Hell I still want a theater refund...

ThreeBigTacos - 7/29/2011, 12:07 PM

mikenew - 7/29/2011, 12:24 PM
didn't watch it at the theaters because I didn't care. I guess I'll watch it on DVD.
ThreeBigTacos - 7/29/2011, 12:47 PM
@Tea: depending on what country your from, 'shit fest' could be a positive quote :P
Tevii - 7/29/2011, 12:50 PM
Im thinking this is a total fake. GL wears the mask in this image... and the way the title on the DVD is laid out out like looks like an amateur did it
Ancar - 7/29/2011, 12:56 PM
Where's the mask? [frick] it.
sackboy1991 - 7/29/2011, 1:01 PM
its looks fake to me.
Choppaholic26 - 7/29/2011, 1:05 PM
it's either fake, or the shittiest blu ray cover they coul've gone with. And i'm leaning towards the latter...
ACira - 7/29/2011, 1:12 PM
haha... it's green... they should call it... a green ray! Get it? Haha!

@Tevii so it basically fits with the movie then...

I wont be getting this (and I bought X-Men Origins Wolverine on Blu Ray, so thats saying something!)
moneybanks - 7/29/2011, 1:19 PM

moneybanks - 7/29/2011, 1:20 PM

THABATMAN - 7/29/2011, 11:04 AM

if its not this "directors cut" that we have heard about.. I'm not even interested AT ALL

What director's cut? The non existent director's cut you heard about from the anonymous sources that comment in this section? Is it anything like the Jonah Hex director's cut we heard so much about last summer that never came to fruition? I hope all you rumor starters are right about Green Lantern though because that movie clearly had some missing transitional scenes. Hopefully they correct the terrible editing job.
marvel72 - 7/29/2011, 1:53 PM
i'll buy it if its released at bargin bin price also if a movie deserved a directors cut to improve it,its this.worse cbm this year major dissapointment.
JWStubner - 7/29/2011, 2:01 PM

JoshWilding - 7/29/2011, 11:48 AM

No surprise there coming from the guy who needlessly embellished Green Lantern's failure every week. Like when he reported that it fell out of the top 10 when in reality it was the #9 movie in the country that week and when people told him he was wrong and to check his sources next time he refused to UPDATE his false news story with the correct facts because, clearly, he hates Green Lantern and gets some strange pleasure in it's failure.
HelaGood - 7/29/2011, 2:09 PM
@JWStubner incorrect... Josh doesn't hate hate Green Lantern and gets some strange pleasure in it's failure...

but I DO!!!
JR - 7/29/2011, 2:13 PM
Still don't know why you people trash this movie? of course it has his flaws and the character didn't deserve this treatment but we had worst, Ghost Rider, Spiderman 3 and 2(my point of view there), Superman Returns, Fantastic Four (both) Daredevil, Elektra, Cstwoman, Jonah Hex, i mean come on!!! Hulk, Xmen Last stand, Wolverine Origins, please tell me they're not the same!..... and dont get me started with the third act of the "so incredible Captain America", the low budget of Thor and the Arizona Set, and First Class (low budget effects) i enjoyde Thor and First Class but theyre the sam S hI T!! Better luck next year with Avengers, Bats, and Spidey
JR - 7/29/2011, 2:23 PM
and about the Box office numbers is plain simple if the critics dont like it the the movie is doomed, we comic book fans are the minority here. If a critic says that the movie sucked than all of the the other people "tools" (not us BTW) will not like it at all, and i am not saying we are more smarter than the others but the real deal is that the masses are just a simple tool for $$$ making
JR - 7/29/2011, 2:24 PM
BTW the cover is fake, do some here think that after the flop this movie has been they are going to release this KRAP?...probably they will sell it with a prop ring to get they're money back ;)
sinchsw - 7/29/2011, 2:32 PM
I'm waiting for this Director's Cut and Thor's Director's cut. Both were missing a lot.
sinchsw - 7/29/2011, 2:32 PM
It's not as though audiences haven't been trained to sit for long periods of time. We've all sat through Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and hours upon hours of porn...er...
PaulRom - 7/29/2011, 3:01 PM
@JWStubner Josh didn't post that article just because he didn't like the film. As a matter of fact, he was actually excited for it since the Wonder-Con trailer, but was seriously disappointed (as where many) when he saw it. Isn't like he's biased or whatever.
marvel72 - 7/29/2011, 3:27 PM
@ JWStubner

everyone makes mistakes, but the film is piss poor its taken $150,144,109 just thought i'd let you know its still doing shit.

Well... he fooled me. Seemed insanely bias by not updating the article after knowing what he reported was false with the proper information. That's my grievance here. It's not Josh personally. I don't know who Josh is. It's not like I go after Josh with EVERY post he makes. I do it two times because he made false reports and then refused to correct the false information he supplied us with an UPDATE like he and everyone on this site ALWAYS does. That's not right and I don't see anyone else doing that on CBM.com. Hell, I don't see Josh doing that unless it has to do with Green Lantern's box office. It's nothing personal. Sorry for expressing my one grievance on this open forum. I thought that's what it was for. My mistake. It won't ever happen again.
JWStubner - 7/29/2011, 3:41 PM
You guys fail to see why I'm upset. I'm well aware Green Lantern did shitty... I don't care. It's the fact that the same guy every week embellished the hell out of it's failure because he himself has an agenda... or maybe he doesn't have an agenda and just doesn't care if reports rumors as fact. Then when those facts turn out to be untrue, NOT update it with the correct facts so that we, the readers, receive the actual news. How are you guys not getting this?
JoshWilding - 7/29/2011, 4:11 PM
Lol, the only "false" information I posted was what I garnered from what I considered to from reliable sites. Surprisingly, I didn't sit down and decide to make some random shit up to contribute to the failure of Green Lantern...it managed that all by itself. I was incredibly excited for the movie (which is probably why I queued up for four hours at Kapow! Comic Con in London to watch eight minutes of footage a month before it was released) but it's nice to know that this nutjob is STILL bitching about me making a mistake in regards to the movies budget and reporting the fact that Deadline said it was no longer in the top 10.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go and pleasure myself while reading negative Green Lantern reviews.
dmm5 - 7/29/2011, 4:24 PM
I remember some tv spot for the movie saying it was "Iron Man meets Star Wars" XD
Choppaholic26 - 7/29/2011, 4:59 PM
LMFAO @ josh

It's scary when Tea goes after someone...
