Mark Hamill Says He Would Come Back As The Joker For The Killing Joke

Mark Hamill has recently stated that he is done with voicing The Joker, there however appears to be one project that he would un-retire his voice for, Alan Moore's The Killing Joke.

If you are upset that you will never hear Mark Hamill voice The Joker again, fear not. There is one hope that we might get him behind the microphone yet again to voice The Clown Prince of Crime. Hamill recently took to twitter(like always it seems) to say that if DC Animation ever adapted Alan Moore's graphic Novel The Killing Joke he would gladly voice the character again.

I for one would love this. The Killing Joke is my favorite interpretation of The Joker and really shows how sick and demented he is. What are your thoughts? Sound off in the comment boxes below and do whatever it is we need to do to make this happen.

Bruce Timm, get yourself to doing an animated Killing Joke movie with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill!!
ballstothewall - 10/25/2011, 9:45 AM
Alan Moore's adaptions into film has been very sucessful so far such as "Watchmen",That became one of the best CBM's of all time. This would also be awesome. I''m very impress by DC's animated Batman:Year One so far. This is just awesome. But man Hamill should play The Joker in a adaption of The Dark Knight Returns.
BmanHall - 10/25/2011, 9:49 AM
I don't know why we were worried about his retirement. He'll do Joker until his last breath. I just hope that last breath isn't anytime soon.

That would be cool if DC doesn't ruin it. DC animations have a way of watering down EPIC stories. Yo, If you can't do it right, don't do it at all, or come up with something else for your animations. SUPERMAN: DOOMSDAY, epic fail, PUBLIC ENEMIES, was good, but they cut out all the best parts and changed the epic original ending, SUPERMAN: APOKALIPS, so very weak, this adaption is the deffinition of watered down.

I will admit though, that the majority of BATMAN animations were pretty good. Why does DC take BATMAN more seriously than all other characters? Its reasons like this why everyone thinks BATMAN is unbeatable, because he has countless good movies, while every other hero comes off retarded or boring in their own films.

Tainted87 - 10/25/2011, 10:07 AM
JLU adapted Moore's: "For the Man Who Was Everything" in that season's second episode. It was exceptionally well done, with the only real difference being that Jason Todd or any Robin for that matter wasn't present. It actually went a bit deeper than the comic in question.

Anyway, if that Moore story can be put on a television network, I'm pretty sure The Killing Joke is fair game.
OtakuPapi - 10/25/2011, 10:13 AM
Sounds like he is using the i'll retire just to get the Killing Joke adapted awesome idea
joeker - 10/25/2011, 10:15 AM

tomasocelot - 10/25/2011, 10:15 AM

HellsHammer - 10/25/2011, 10:19 AM

good choice
do it
MatchesMalone - 10/25/2011, 10:36 AM
@wolverinesfury- Not at all. Being that Batman, the Joker, "The Killing Joke", and all related properties are owned by DC/Warner Bros., they could ostensibly do it however and whenever they wanted. I think it's pretty safe to say that if they were creator-owned characters/story, it would never see the light of day considering Alan Moore hates anything that he writes being turned into a movie.
RyanLantern77 - 10/25/2011, 10:42 AM
Called it
niknik - 10/25/2011, 10:42 AM
The Killing Joke is nice and all, but I want to see the Dark Knight Returns adapted first. Bet he'd come back for that one as well.
FrankGarret - 10/25/2011, 10:44 AM
I bet he doesn't retire after all.

He'll be back for Killing Joke if it is made, and it should be made.

Bet he'll be back for Arkham Asylum 3... Arkham County?
RunDTC - 10/25/2011, 11:05 AM

ultimatemarvelfan - 10/25/2011, 11:48 AM
Yes for all that if holy yes
Cheesehead - 10/25/2011, 11:50 AM
He'll come back when he wants some more money. Great Joker voice.
skidz - 10/25/2011, 11:50 AM
He'd be fantastic for the part (as always)!!! Mark Hammil is like Anne Heche: 'you're in, you're out, you're in, you're out.' - Robbin Williams.
Shaman - 10/25/2011, 12:00 PM
Needs to be done, ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! It would be the most EPIC retirement masterpiece for him too :))
THABATMAN - 10/25/2011, 12:03 PM
I never read it, but I've heard its really good. DC MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Shaman - 10/25/2011, 12:06 PM
skidz- On a separate yet related note, Anne Heche is the definition of bad voice acting. She was the worst possible part of Doomsday.
