Don't do it Sony. Your only hope for fixing the abortion that was Wolverine is copping out and saying "Memory implants" this will serve two purposes 1) no need for continuity and 2) get the fan boys clapping like retards while the pleebs get the lost dog look

Well Wolverine needs to get his coat back somehow, he left it in Gambit's plane in Origins but has it at the beginning of X-Men. So either Gambit needs to be in it or Wolverine needs to receive a package from Gambit.

I know everyone and their dog hated Origins...but I still enjoyed it, even with its flaws. If Gambit shows up in The Wolverine, I won't mind a long as he gives Wolverine his jacket back. At the end of Origins Logan left it in Gambit's plane, but then he has it again in X-Men...

He can see developing Gambit for the next ten or fifteen years? Wow ... It is amazing how a guy's mind changes after the new(ish) franchise he has committed to seems to evaporate.

Wow...he's certainly changed his tune. I guess he has to come crawling back now that John Carter has flopped oh so miserably. (for the record, not that bad a film. fairly decent. just terrible promotion team, is all.)

Fox's X-men series is mess, I wish Jackman never had a cameo in First Class because now the movie is rooted in the trilogy's universe. I loved Jackman as Wolvie when i was 12, but now that I'm older I'm just wishing they would put that particular X-universe out of the way and focus on stories built from FC. That should have been a fresh slate for X-Men with an all new cast. Fox should be taking copious notes from Marvel Studios

I give a shit about Wolverine. I hope they don't ask him back. Actually I hope the only person that reprises his role is Liev Schreiber. No other "X-Men" should be in this movie. They should keep the character count to a minimum unlike Origins.

I hope and pray that the next Wolverine movie only has one mutant in it: Wolverine.

At least he knows another Gambit run is not happening for him, and thankfully so, not a fan of the charactor.

@shiverman- First Class was great for what it was. It is a reboot of a franchise that still had legs. It properly went back in time and tried to get the mythos back to a proper working order...

While yes, FC with the ACTUAL 'FIRST CLASS' would have been nice, we just have to accept it would've gotten WAY worse if they just tried a straight reboot to the original team. We should be grateful for the. Film we got! At least they didn't just re-tell the origin...ala TASM...

Why spidey, why?!

Love me some Spider-Man, but let's move on shall we? I wish Sony would put a TDKR '8 year gap' on spideys career..way too much open world potential

@xfan320 I'm fully aware of what FC tried to do, and I really enjoyed it for what it was, but with it being so fresh and inventive, I just wish it was part of it's own Universe that left the old films behind. They're dragging it out with Jackman now for the sake of it, and his Wolverine is just not entertaining anymore, for me at least.

I don't want to see Halle Berry in a new film down the line, I don't want to see Hugh Jackman drag it out anymore... It'd be so great if we could have an all new take, and not rehashing the weak, poor versions of characters from the older films.

His part in the first Wolverine movie was already a cameo. And there was really nothing redeemable about that movie. I actually liked John Carter. Reminded me of Flash Gordon. It really needed an epic sound track though. More movies should work on the music. I think they would really benefit. That is all.

Taylor gotta eat I guess. Seriously the only redeeming things about X-Men Origins were Ryan's 5 minutes, Liev trying to hang on for dear life to a terrible script, Jackman still having the attitude and..well that's it. It's not like John Carter is dead dead, it's doing well overseas and might get the Chronicles of Narnia save.

LOL, I knew he'd say that, but hey, once you make one of those big ass films, you feel really high and mighty, till it bombs and you are knocking at directors doors for work (Sam Worthington) so, yeah.... I wouldn't mind seeing him again in a film, though I prefer Matt Bomer. He, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Cyclops would be the only reason I'd go see Fist Ass's sequel.

No way, they've already dropped the ball crowding wolverines story with too many other characters.

what do you think of this take for a reboot.....

*Someone is hunting down and assassinating mutants, as well all of Logans loved ones, friends, girlfriends etc have been murdered.

*We in part follow Logan through his past, from living with indians, to the civil war, to working in mines, to ww1 and 2, (where captain america is an inspiring influence on him) (presenting that logan has been in some form of warfare most of his life) He finds that he is almost born to be a warrior, being an efficient battle hardened elite soldier is very important to him and he excels at this and he wants to be a hero, it gets noticed by certain branches of the military.

*It's illustrated that Logans human mind is somewhat fractured and an "animalistic mind" and behavior sometimes overwhelms him and he becomes almost more animal than man when he's pushed to a breaking point. (similar duality to the HULK, yet no physical change)

*During vietnam he is in a black ops team, and gets the attention of the military by successfully returning with POWS that were not meant to be saved, his entire team is killed during the mission, nor was he meant to survive, during this he fights another "mutant" and he realizes he is not alone.

*The military tells Logan that the "super soldier" program is being attempted again because another "captain america" is need to protect humanity. Logan is on board.

*What they are really doing at Alkali lake is the secret WEAPON X program, and they make Logan into The Wolverine, unknown to him a weapon the military will use as a fully controllable assassin to hunt down and kill mutants, they use a telepath to fracture his mind, memory implants and ways to control him.

*What Logan discovers is that HE was the one who killed all of his loved ones, not creed as he is meant to believe, they MADE him kill everyone he loves as a final test in the weapon x program , and made to assassinate "good" mutants who may be a threat to their goals.

*Wolverines mind breaks, and he escapes, and tries to track down an accurate memory, and is directed toward a mysterious case,......and he discovers The Wolverine "costume" and a young telepath they used to break his mind and the only one who can help him, she is also inflicted with a terrible disease thats killing her.

*He discovers a serum that if injected will repair his mind and unify his memory, it can also cure this young telepath, and in the only real heroic act, instead of saving himself, Logan gives the serum to the young girl. But Sabertooth is sent and kills her, and Logan was not able to save her a second time.

*What they don't realize is that Weapon X is far more deadly, his abilities not just efficient in assassination, but can handle major warfare and countless enemy forces, tanks, helicopters.

*Logan realizes he was never meant to be a hero, he can never be what captain america stood for, he is The Wolverine "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." And the military with an overwhelming force, comes after him, to hun him down.

*But what they don't realize, is The Wolverine is coming after THEM. Up against a large military force, he devastates them leaving dead bodies and shredded military tanks and equipment in his wake.

*After the credits, we see wolverine jumping out of an airplane onto a mountain and sliding down, he gathers himself, sniffs the hair, and on the ground there are tracks of very large foot prints and we hear the HULK roar.
