While chatting with MTV, The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale was asked about whether or not he would enjoy seeing someone else continue the Batman legacy. Bale said that he would be happy to see it and is intrigued to see what happens with Batman since they are done with the character. He even complimented Adam West's Batman interpretation calling it Fantastic.

"I'm very intrigued to see other interpretations of it, at this point. There have been many wonderful ones Adam West did a fantastic job spoofing it and I am being sincere. And we returned to the darkness, which I'm told is what Bob Kane intended it to be when he created this. Chris has managed to make it topical, well for Bob Kane it was topical for World War II. So it will be very interesting to see what somebody else does with the character and I'll be the first one there to watch."

Bale was also asked about the time he said there would be no Robin in this franchise on his watch. Bale responded with a laugh and saying, "I was talking out of turn some what. Because, ya know what? Regardless what my wishes would have been it was not my choice and never was. You can check out Bale and the rest of the cast in The Dark Knight Rises in theaters NOW!!!!

Supes17 - 7/25/2012, 11:22 AM
I would like a futuristic approach, like Arkham City.
I would also like to see Grayson, Todd and Drake.
Also....NIGHTWING
Supes17 - 7/25/2012, 11:23 AM
I agree with Grif, the next Batman flick should feature new villains
Supes17 - 7/25/2012, 11:23 AM
Court of Owls?
rondz123 - 7/25/2012, 11:25 AM
GOOD INTERVIEW HE GOT HIM. LOL
KidGoku - 7/25/2012, 11:27 AM
Hopefully not for another 6 years. I think that'll give the audience enough time to accept a reboot.
TayDee - 7/25/2012, 11:30 AM
When they do reboot, which I believe is a bad idea, I hope they don't include the mob
GoILL - 7/25/2012, 11:30 AM
No villains that have appeared at least twice on film already please.
GUNSMITH - 7/25/2012, 11:32 AM
IF WE HAVE TO SEE A ORIGIN STORY...AGAIN...UGG...JUST CONTINUE..WITH A HINT LIKE BATMAN WAS THOUGHT DEAD BUT COMES BACK.
GUNSMITH - 7/25/2012, 11:33 AM
REBOOTING..YOU KNOW NOLAN WAS THE ONE THAT MADE THAT WORD TO BEGIN WITH IN HOLLYWOOD.
CaptainObvious - 7/25/2012, 11:34 AM
The next Batman film should be based on the Court of Owls story arc.
sbdc1939 - 7/25/2012, 11:36 AM
you cant do batman without the joker. im sorry it cant be done. No more than superman can be done without lex luthor.
fedup - 7/25/2012, 11:38 AM
Being honest, the only way in my eyes to do a Batman reboot without the director being constantly compared to the Nolan films is to go with Batman Beyond. It's a completely different character in a completely different setting and lends itself to telling a story that nobody really knows the outcome to.
gmoney0505 - 7/25/2012, 11:38 AM
The ending to TDKR gives WB some things to do with Batman and Bruce without having to reboot it with a origin story. I just hope the next director of Batman can challenge themselves to come up with a great story.
siggisuperman - 7/25/2012, 11:38 AM
I would love to do a Mr.Freeze storyline. Something a little dramatic and sad, but exciting as well.
Mrcool210 - 7/25/2012, 11:39 AM
DO BEYOND DAMNIT, that way bale can be involed still, beyond is my favourite batman, would love to see it on the big screen
Minotauro - 7/25/2012, 11:40 AM
Honestly, has anybody said they wanted to see a 3-split story like an Anthology movie of batman? We could have Clayface, Mad Hatter, and anybody else that can fit in for a dramatic villain. Would be sweet.
REDSTORM - 7/25/2012, 11:40 AM
Professor PYG!!

They can even use the Scopolamine/Bath Salt Zombie craze as a basis for his dollotrons.
vtopa - 7/25/2012, 11:41 AM
I don't want to see another Batman movie for at least 10 years.
DraculaX - 7/25/2012, 11:41 AM
Joker will probably be in the next series as well, you can't have a series without The Joker. I would like to see Riddler, Freeze and Ivy done justice.
samsupes - 7/25/2012, 11:45 AM
Riddler, Hugo Strange, Hush, Red Hood
JDUKE25 - 7/25/2012, 11:49 AM
Something with Hush, Riddler or Mr Freeze (done correctly). Not all 3 in the same obviously.

Have Robin work with Batman, feature Nightwing and have flashbacks, when he's talking to Tim, about when he was Robin. Forget Jason Todd. You'd have to have Joker again and have Jason die. Personally I don't care much for seeing that story.

@Supes17 Court of Owls would be awesome.
BIGBMH - 7/25/2012, 11:52 AM
If you look at his smile as he talks about it, I think it shows he has grown to really love the character. Being at the center of the franchise, he hasn't been able to take in these movies the way we have, so I think he is being genuine about his desire to see more Batman and just enjoy it as part of the audience.
JDUKE25 - 7/25/2012, 11:53 AM
Batman has so many great stories, and has, IMO, the best rogues gallery in comics.
Zounds - 7/25/2012, 11:53 AM
@Nomis - I thought the same thing after the credits rolled.
DraculaX - 7/25/2012, 11:58 AM
Two main villains with a side villain. (Black Mask, Penguin and have Deadshot as a henchmen)
CaptainPresley - 7/25/2012, 11:58 AM
I just keep liking Christian Bale more and more. He even give kudos to the awesome Adam West.
ScabbyJ - 7/25/2012, 12:00 PM
-Matt Hagan clayface + Cornelius Stirk
-robin's reckoning + Under the hood
-mad monk + Mr Whisper + "Sanctum"
--------
Honestly though, I want to see Cavill's Superman, Reynold's Lantern, and Levitt's Batman in a JL.

Batman started everything (Superman Earth One), and when they finally meet him he's younger than them all. Could lead to great dialogue.
samsupes - 7/25/2012, 12:01 PM
Ok i am bored soooo.....

You could have the Batman reboot pick up years into his career when Dick Grayson's time as Robin has come and gone. Have Jason Todd as Robin. Batman is trying to prove himself to Gotham while Dr. Hugo Strange is hellbent on both hurting the Batmans reputation and helping the police track down the serial killer known as The Riddler.

In the end, Stranges schemes are exposed while Batman captures The Riddler. As Batman is busy doing this, Robin is killed by Red Hood who is jealous that The Riddler is getting all the attention.

During the next few movies, we see Batman take on Hush, Black Mask, Mr. Freeze and possibly Two-Face (I don't believe either the Schumacher or Nolan version were the right ones). Also during this time Red Hood is at Arkham developing into the Joker as he bonds with Dr. Harleen Quinzel. This leads to a future movie to bring Jason back as Red Hood hunting down the Joker while also going after Batman.

Batman vs. Red Hood vs. Joker/Harley Quinn
kingshnake - 7/25/2012, 12:01 PM
One big comic book bananza of a Batman trilogy with 1 major villain and 2 lesser one's in the first 2 and in the third bring 'em all back into the same room but with three major MAJOR villains as the main antagonists. But Batman will need the help of Nightwing, Robin (JT) dies in 1 or 2, then comes back as Red Hood in the 3rd, Batgirl(CC) at some point maaaaaybe Superman and a more traditional Alfred. I say no Gordons, Oldman WAS Jimbo.
MAKE THIS HAPPEN DC MORE FANTASY BATMOBILES WINGDINGS BLUDHAVEN PENGUIN BLACK MASK CATWOMAN
NOLANITE - 7/25/2012, 12:02 PM
Start the "reboot" with an intro like The Incredible Hulk, just flash through his origin in credits then pick up a fresh story.

Or... ****SPOILER***

the way TDKR ended have him come back and watch good JGL do his thing. No one eve said he would become Nightwing or Robin. He could just continue as good ol Bats... BATMAN BEYOND!!!
TheDetectiveComicRises - 7/25/2012, 12:03 PM
Great guy not being selfish & wanting to pass the torch. I will miss Bale he is my favorite Batman/Bruce Wayne ever & I can't wait to see who is next. Bale is cool in this interview that is so cool!
MisterFixit - 7/25/2012, 12:03 PM
Bale has a good point. people have forgotten the atmosphere
created by Kane in the beginning.
Batman was not that dark,
indeed ..
LoudNoises - 7/25/2012, 12:04 PM
I like the idea of using hugo strange in a reboot. He is a very dark and interesting character. As for whether or not to use the Joker in any future franchise... It's tough, because Joker has been done twice amazingly in the films already and to continue using him would probably only stand in the way of other great villains we have yet to see. Then again it's hard to imagine any Batman franchise without the Joker in it. I would love to see Batman done in a Game of Throne type HBO series. You could intertwine so many great story lines incorporating all the characters and keep introducing new villains. This will never happen, but one can dream. :)
kingshnake - 7/25/2012, 12:06 PM
People lay off JGL u can't have him EVER he is part of the Nolanverse I know I know he is the perfect Dick Grayson but DC must start from scratch
Intothepoop - 7/25/2012, 12:09 PM
@Nomis

that would be treading similar ground TDKR just went over.
ScabbyJ - 7/25/2012, 12:12 PM
OR: just continue the story.
John Blake is Nolan's Jean-Paul Valley. He doesn't share the exact same moral compass as Wayne and after years has perverted the Idea of Batman through his tenure. He has a new suit created to make up for his lack of fighting ability. Bruce learns of his misdoings under batman's guise and returns to Gotham to set things right. He's got no fortune, and must create a makeshift suit (navy and gray). In a final climactic battle, Bruce reclaims the cowl and proves that NOT JUST ANYBODY can be the Batman, which would clear the "I'm not wearing hockey pads" contradiction between the copycats of TDK and the speech between Wayne and Blake in TDKR.

I'm just spitballing

(but Cornelius Stirk would be a great sub for the Joker)
DioFoRio - 7/25/2012, 12:13 PM
@Nomis...that's what I was thinking . That would be awesome.
