In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. If Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

As reported recently from my local cinema website:

Ryan Reynolds persists that there is no conflict for himself to portray both Green Lantern and Deadpool.

He also added that the differences of the two characters he will portray will make fans able to accept him as the two heroes. [Ryan] admitted that if he was offered the role of The Flash instead of Green Lantern, he might have to choose one since both characters have similar traits.

"I always feel if I'm Deadpool, then I will not be Flash." He said to Comic Book Resources.

Quoted from Digital Spy, he also added that 'Deadpool' will give a different cinematic experience from 'Green Lantern'. "This movie, which is currently being made, is more like a form of deconstruction from superhero movies."

Dude seriously lets stop talking about Deadpool and just get this made
GUNSMITH - 5/18/2011, 7:03 AM
DEVELOPMENT HELL.
DarthTesla - 5/18/2011, 7:05 AM
God please dont ALSO be The Flash, dude. I'm a fan of yours, but you only get one superhero from each company!
(No one cares about Hannibal King, so that doesnt count.)
JosePetrelli12 - 5/18/2011, 7:05 AM
Unless its in production, Id rather see them start making GL2!
JosePetrelli12 - 5/18/2011, 7:05 AM
lol @CaptainDusty - Animal King!!!!!!!!!!
LordHuck - 5/18/2011, 7:06 AM
"Unless its in production, Id rather see them start making GL2!"

good ^^^^^^^^Point
Brashlight - 5/18/2011, 7:19 AM
If they make Deadpool with an R rating it will be phenominal! If they do what they always do and try and dumb it down to PG-13 this movie will fail before it even hits theaters. Some movies have to have an R-Rating if you are going to do it right!
thesymbiote - 5/18/2011, 7:20 AM
He shouldn't be Flash anyway. Now that he's Hal.
Rexgabe - 5/18/2011, 7:24 AM
The context of the question was that if he hadn't have gotten GL and they made a Flash movie then he wouldn't have done it with Deadpool side by side cause of the similarities of the characters. Since Hal is so different than Deadpool he doesn't care and he's down to do both now.

Him as Flash is not anywhere in the realm of possibilitiy now.
CaptainAmerica - 5/18/2011, 7:27 AM
What he said^
DeadpoolDan - 5/18/2011, 7:29 AM
"I always feel if I'm Deadpool, then I will not be Flash."

o_O WHAT!?!?!?!

Dont even think about being flash!

@Rexgabe - Too true, just taken out of context a bit. At least hes still talking about Deadpool, but this film production is moving slower than ghostbusters 3 right now!
IsaiahBradley - 5/18/2011, 7:33 AM
Reynolds is so generic. Look at him. Stop casting this average looking, average acting guy with a six pack.
KungFuKoala - 5/18/2011, 7:34 AM
I friggin love The Flash
ElBicho - 5/18/2011, 7:41 AM
I wonder if they can do the Justice League with RR playing every superhero...
billnye69 - 5/18/2011, 7:44 AM
Deadpool is trash, if his movie gets made it'll be worse then Dragonball.

Flash FTW!
TheDorkKnight - 5/18/2011, 7:46 AM

@Jose and Lord
"This movie, WHICH IS CURRENTLY BEING MADE..."

[frick]IN FINALLY
TheDorkKnight - 5/18/2011, 7:47 AM
@billnye GTFO then. Flash is Trash.
marvel72 - 5/18/2011, 7:51 AM
reynolds would made a better flash than hal jordan,he still could be cast as the flash.

dc has no plans of a shared universe at the moment.
Peteyparker - 5/18/2011, 7:53 AM
He can be Deadpool and Flash, BUT he couldn't have been Green Lantern and Flash. So imma go with a DUH!!!
evil40 - 5/18/2011, 8:06 AM
He should have been Deadpool and flash. Bradley Cooper should have been Green Lantern......just satin.
espnfx - 5/18/2011, 8:10 AM
Always thought James Roday would make a decent Flash, based on Psych.
xXkryptoniteXx - 5/18/2011, 8:13 AM
He would have been a sick flash, his born to be the flash
larusso - 5/18/2011, 8:16 AM
I think Ryan Kwanten from true blood would make a good flash
Berger45 - 5/18/2011, 8:34 AM
What Larusso said is spot on target!
supermarioworldE - 5/18/2011, 8:40 AM
It depends on which Flash they use. For example, The Barry Allen Flash is a vastly different character in comparison to deadpool, but it's clear that Reynolds was referring to Wally West
larusso - 5/18/2011, 8:45 AM
thank you my good man
valeriesghost - 5/18/2011, 8:53 AM
@evil40 totally agree
HarrisonBergeron - 5/18/2011, 8:53 AM
Michael Rosenbaum for Flash!

As much as I want MR I would take Megan Fox , Sam Worthington, or Arnold's love child over Reynolds for Flash.
Dechiriko - 5/18/2011, 8:55 AM
omg please, please not another deconstruction of superhero movies, I'm just sick of those.
SupermanFan09 - 5/18/2011, 8:56 AM
I would've much rather seen Reynolds play flash because the flash is cocky and ryan reynolds can play cocky. but i'd rather have no actor play 2 different superhero's even if they are in different universes...so id rather have him offered flash and then ended at that...Deadpool needs to be a cocky shit talker which their are many of those out their...and Green Lantern just isnt the character for ryan reynolds to play imo
Knight - 5/18/2011, 8:57 AM
He SHOULD have done the Flash (or Aquaman) and leave GL to Chris Pine who SHOULD have gotten the role.
TheGreatone0207 - 5/18/2011, 9:00 AM
I think Deadpool suits him more than Flash or Green Lantern. But I cant wait to see the movie.
Opt1mu5Pr1m4l - 5/18/2011, 9:12 AM
Ryan Reynolds would be a good flash but 1) Barry Allen is blonde and 2) Wally West is a fricking ginger geezer. Bring on the Pool.... the Deadpool.
zoltron12 - 5/18/2011, 9:40 AM
I honestly don't believe that we will get a Flash or a Deadpool movie unfortunately. But we will see.
chochi73 - 5/18/2011, 9:42 AM
Give it a break man let someone else be a superhero. Anyway who the hell cares Dealpool will be in a mask anyways and if they decide to show his face it should look nothing even resembling Ryan. They totally went the wrong route on this one. Ryan should have definitely been the Flash, who's a 24/7 comedian. It would have been easier to find another Hal then to find a possible Bart. That's why Ryan's been given so many options to play who he wants. Actors like Ryan, who have all the ingredients needed to play a superhero are hard to come-by and the studios just don't want to give the roles to any newcomers, but hey I think James Franco would make a great Flash, just needs to start getting ripped.
Yourdaddydevilandlord - 5/18/2011, 9:56 AM

Quoted from Digital Spy, he also added that 'Deadpool' will give a different cinematic experience from 'Green Lantern'. "This movie, which is currently being made, is more like a form of deconstruction from superhero movies."

So....Deadpool is currently being made? Really? A form of deconstruction from superhero movies, that would describe Deadpool, correct? What do they mean currently being made, is it still in script writing being made or storyboards, preproduction, Ryan is currently wearing red and black spandex being made? How currently being made?
alphamale80 - 5/18/2011, 9:58 AM
what does it matter DC is sooooo corny
Superdan2012 - 5/18/2011, 10:07 AM
That was a good choice for Ryan he already did choose to play "The Green Lantern" I think the casting of "Flash/Barry Allen" will be played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar from "SAVED BY THE BELL" & "RAISING BY THE BAR" and I made that choice for Mark to play "The Fastest Man Alive" on the big screen and I think its up to the director to make that choice to see who will play Barry Allen ?
PaulRom - 5/18/2011, 10:14 AM
IMO, Reynolds would make a mediocre Flash.
Bring on Neil Patrick Harris or Chris Pine!
PWhite - 5/18/2011, 10:18 AM
He should have just stuck with Deadpool cause then we would have a deadpool movie already than a steriod cgi movie of green lantern.
Rulk - 5/18/2011, 10:28 AM
I think he SHOULD be both Deadpool and Flash. He should also be Green Arrow, Black Panther, Wonder Woman, the Wonder Twins, Vision, Krypto the Super Dog and Alfred. Just not Aquaman. We have our limits... ;)
BIGBMH - 5/18/2011, 10:33 AM
Well since he's Green Lantern, he shouldn't be Flash. It's not like Chris Evas were one franchise is dead, getting rebooted and his version of the character isn't in the same universe. While DC isn't doing a cinematic universe (yet) it still would be a bit silly for him to be 2 of their major heroes in franchises going on at the same time.
luckylu - 5/18/2011, 12:14 PM
if he could he would play the entire jla
BruceKentJordan - 5/18/2011, 12:14 PM
Ok people. What he is saying is...had he been cast as Flash (and NOT GL), he would not have been able to be Deadpool as well. GL and Deadpool are so different of characters that he can pull it off.
JoshJones - 5/18/2011, 12:16 PM
Coming to theaters next summer, Ryan Reynolds is THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.
VictorHugo - 5/18/2011, 12:18 PM
LOL!!
113 - 5/18/2011, 12:33 PM
I've come around to the idea of Reynolds playing GL, from the footage I've seen he has pulled it off. But I still maintain that he would of been perfect as Wally West/Flash.
I - 5/18/2011, 1:03 PM
When is the point when he plays to many different superheros?
OverCross - 5/18/2011, 1:50 PM
No you mean "If I'm GREEN LANTERN then I won't be Flash."

It's kinda against the law to be two people at once. Y'know the laws of physics.
