What is this, the 798th return?
Pasto - 6/7/2014, 7:24 PM
Is that a geritol Steve Rogers?
militantcharles - 6/7/2014, 7:24 PM
799th return
lawndart - 6/7/2014, 7:27 PM
They pulled this same story line back in the 80s. Didn't spark sales then and probably won't now. I think this is why I don't buy the books anymore. It's become increasingly more repetative and in need of a creative touch.

Or maybe this is just crazy sobriety talking.
staypuffed - 6/7/2014, 7:32 PM
Both of the covers are fantastic.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:40 PM

no one pulls the wool over the eyes of comicbookmovie.com!

that's what is great about it,
how on point and quick to get to the real heart of things the users here are.

huzzah, good fellows, we stand triumphant in the face of anything we feel can look like whatever we choose to glibly say it looks like!

huzzah, indeed.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:46 PM
and what is that?

Nick Fury is black?

nice MCU

smh.
soberchimera - 6/7/2014, 7:46 PM
Wait so 616 Nick Fury is black now?
Dinotron - 6/7/2014, 7:47 PM
This would be interesting if done in the MCU
Maybe make this the reason why Bucky becomes the new Cap.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:50 PM
this whole Iron Nail thing is just like the MCU....
wake up sheeples!

except that SHIELD is uncompromised, Iron Nail exists, Steve Rogers has been living in another dimension for about 12 years, has a son there he was raising, the daughter of Arnim Zola is living on his couch, Red Skull is running around with the brain of Prof X that he cut out of his dead body and is now himself telepathic.

but besides those minor details... it's just like MCU, cuz look... there's Captain America.

smh. what do they think we were born yesterday or something?
c'mon.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:50 PM
@soberchimera - yeah... surprise surprise... just like the MCU.

smh
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:51 PM
except when he's white in things like Original Sin which are also stupid and just like the MCU in different ways.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 7:51 PM
smh
storyteller - 6/7/2014, 7:57 PM
You know Jr lost the eye, he didn't get the facial damage like his Ultimate counterpart........but whatever.
TheBrotherhood - 6/7/2014, 8:01 PM
smh, cap turned into Hugh Hefner???
Jobin - 6/7/2014, 8:19 PM
CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME NEW VILLIANS. SAME SHIT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER!
Franshu - 6/7/2014, 8:20 PM
Wait, wait, wait, so how does all this tie into the continuity of the Avengers, or Original Sin? Cause he's a young man there, last I read... Someone please explain it to me.
Dunejedi - 6/7/2014, 8:38 PM
Pacheco is effing awesome, haven't seen his stuff for a bit. I'll prolly grab this just cause he's on art duty.
BrockSamson33 - 6/7/2014, 8:43 PM
@soberchimera "Wait so 616 Nick Fury is black now?"

That's Nick Fury Jr.
BrockSamson33 - 6/7/2014, 8:45 PM
@dethpillow

That's Nick Fury Jr. In 616 Nick Fury is still white. So don't get all upset.
BrockSamson33 - 6/7/2014, 8:47 PM
@Jobin

Are you reading Cap's comic?
LivingBlizzard - 6/7/2014, 8:55 PM
Wow, if Marvel editors ever read any of our comments these days they'd cry their eyes out from hurt feelings. But alas, it is true. Everything's a rehash of a previous rehash of an original story. Geriatric Steve was done in the eighties, geriatric Skull too. Yeah. Gruenwald wrote the best Red Skull ever, now we've got a Frankenstein Skull who has telepathy. Way to go, Quesada and Alonso. Way to go.
fatcobra - 6/7/2014, 9:11 PM
Man I miss Brubaker. This latest run has not been good at all. It's too bad because Cap had an amazing movie just released, but the current run on his title has been of such poor quality.
CapemA - 6/7/2014, 9:38 PM
Remender may be good at writing other titles but he SUCKS at writing Cap!! Brubaker was always going to be a tough act to follow, but this guy is just awful. Get him off the mag, please!!!
loki668 - 6/7/2014, 9:57 PM
Why don't they try something that isn't a rehash? Like:

"The Red Skull has amplified Cap's Super-Soldier Serum, turning Cap into an 80's jock, douche, stereotype. Prodigy, Elixir, and Spiderman must come together and stop him, in an all new story: Revenge Of The Nerds! And of course, we're contractually obligated to say that nothing will ever be the same!"
pesmerga44 - 6/7/2014, 10:06 PM
I am just here for the gorgeous Alex Ross cover damn is that one beautiful cover.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 10:08 PM
@Franshu - if u were really worried about that, it wouldn't be hard to figure out. what a silly question.
NetmanTripleSec - 6/7/2014, 10:13 PM
Always loved Pacheco's artwork. Always great stuff.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 10:23 PM
and yeah, Cap being in another dimension for 12 years, is just the same old thing going on.

it'd be great if they'd do more Brubaker stories so it'd be something new for once. some of the stories on Remender's run haven't been that great, sure...
but people won't even talk about that. god forbid they actually talk about what's going on in context, right?

i have a suspicion that what goes on is people just looking at whatever thing is in front of their dumb face, and saying whatever thing they'd wanna say anyways.

which 85% of the time is gonna be to affect some kind of cynicism and
then 96% of the time, it's gonna be something off this list...

1. everything is really not gonna be changed, even tho they say it's gonna be changed. which is variant one of No One Is Pulling The Wool Over My Eyes

2. (blank character) is not really dead. they will be back later. this is variant two of No One Is Pulling The Wool Over My Eyes

3. things aren't like they used to be.

4. their 8 year old niece/nephew draws better than that

5. everything is like the MCU now. even tho nothing except some superficial detail will even resemble the MCU

wow. if people really believe that everything is gonna be changed or that a hero is dead when they appear to die, then I have no idea how they manage to make it thru life being exposed to commercials. if u could see their bathroom cabinets they must have 8 kinds of toothpaste, 5 kinds of shaving cream, and a whole shitload of pills to make their penises bigger.

cuz if they believe that, then i got a bridge to sell em...
hah-cha cha cha....

i guess this is comforting to them. believe it or not.
dethpillow - 6/7/2014, 10:27 PM
i swear to god...

no one is pulling the wool over the eyes of the users of comicbookmovie.com...
nay, verily, nay i say.

the people here are just the sharpest goddam blades in the knife drawer and they will not let a single thing get by them.
no sir.

Marvel is wasting their time trying to come around here and trick anybody.
yes, indeed. go try that old can of worms somewhere else, but it aint' working here.
ScionStorm - 6/7/2014, 10:39 PM
Should have known, Black Fury likes eating Cinnamon Sticks. :P
ScionStorm - 6/7/2014, 10:43 PM
Dethpillow has been mixing the Kool Aid and Red Bull into the Vodka again.
Starkasm - 6/7/2014, 10:53 PM
Dethpillow

You win.
loki668 - 6/7/2014, 10:58 PM
Ah, all is forgiven when he says things like "Nay! Verily, nay I say!"

The 12 years in another dimension was........an okay story, in my opinion. It did give us a Big Barda doppelganger who might end up being interesting (you never know). Other than that, what should we say? Is there a prepared script that you have that would be more suitable? If you like, EVERY topic could have such cynicism and a list of comments to mock. Such is the way of life.
BaronZemo - 6/8/2014, 1:24 AM
No, Fury ain't black now, he's supossedly his son.
staypuffed - 6/8/2014, 1:54 AM
The stupid on this thread is so high.
OxnardMontalvo - 6/8/2014, 4:27 AM
For (hopefully)the last time. The Super Soldier formula cannot be neutralized, it was part of modification of Steve Rogers DNA. It is not a magic potion created by Merlin that can be shut off.
I have hated that crap since they first pulled it, must be 20 years ago, it was Brubaker's big fail when he did it (using nanites to counteract the formula).
Been following Cap for over 40 years, I find this title disappointing at the very least and insulting at its worst. The writing is uninspired and the art inconsistent.
Please, let this run end.
lawndart - 6/8/2014, 4:34 AM
@dethpillow
Pills you say? That make things bigger you say?
Well, prom would have been a helluva lots less embarassing.
