Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Is Ready For Action In New HERCULES Stills
A cool new set of stills have found their way online from Brett Ratner's take on the iconic Hercules, and with wrestler turned actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the title role, you just know that we're in for a fun time next month! Hit the jump to check them out.
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.
So yeah, I think it's fair to see that the former WWE star's take on Hercules will probably be the most bad-ass to date! In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, director Brett Ratner is quoted as saying, "You're gonna see a lot of brutality and violence, but I call it Jackie Chan violence because you don't see blood splattering across the wall. It's not quite as gory as the graphic novel, but it does have the same sense of deconstructing the myth. This is the antithesis of all the movies about gods and monsters."
