When Josh Brolin was initially cast as Thanos, there was some talk of the villain making an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here, Kevin Feige comments on that and also provides updates on everything from Ant-Man to Daredevil and Doctor Strange...

Thanos making an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron was always a stretch, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now confirmed that he won't be making an appearance in the sequel. However, he did go on to tease some big plans for the villain who is played by Sin City: A Dame to Kill For's Josh Brolin. "I think Thanos does what he wants and shows up where he wants to, and you don’t tell him otherwise. But we are still making “Avengers 2″ so nothing is ruled out." Well, maybe we spoke too soon! An after-credits scene probably shouldn't be ruled out at this point then, and Feige went on to explain why he's only teased in Guardians of the Galaxy. "In “Guardians” Thanos is just another step forward from Avengers. We wanted Ronan to be the bad guy, did not want to spend too much time with Thanos but wanted to show there was a guy behind the guy, the Emperor from “Empire Strikes Back,” behind Darth Vader. Just to get him in his throne, leaning back and smirking."

As for the recent announcement that Marvel Studios have a number of movies slotted in between 2016 - 2019, Feige pointed out that they chose as "a scheduling thing based on what other studios were doing," adding: "We haven’t’ talked about date for “Avengers 3,” yet, hoping for 3 years between." As for Daredevil (which we got absolutely no news on this weekend), Feige was asked whether we're going to see characters from the Netflix shows make an appearance in the movies at some point. "Haven’t talked about that yet, it’s early days for that yet. Daredevil is in production now, but it is the same universe. Everyone signs on for multiple films; the 9 or 12 is more rare, usually 3 is more the norm. Everyone is locked up through 'Avengers 3,'" he revealed, before dropping a few details about some of their other upcoming projects.. "Ant-Man is a heist movie, also a mentor/mentee movie, a hero passing the torch which we haven’t done. “Strange” is about as classic an origin story as you get, and also more about left turn into supernatural. What is the definition of that? We like the idea of alternate dimensions. playing with perceptions of reality." What do you guys think?

I still expect him to be in the post credits scene though, because if he's not that would be a MAAAAAAAAAAJOR missed opportunity.

KurtWagner1225 - 7/26/2014, 8:53 PM

NovaCorpsFan - 7/26/2014, 8:54 PM
Ultron is sounding like one of the best Marvel villains yet and I'm already in love with the line, "There are no strings on me."
TheRedCondom - 7/26/2014, 8:54 PM
I think its better to not have him in Avengers 2.. so that he wouldn't be taking the spotlight away from Ultron

Maestro - 7/26/2014, 8:54 PM
"And we see ultron, he's not the ultron that you see on the looked like a broken puppy. It looked really creepy."

AsgardianHobo - 7/26/2014, 8:54 PM

SuperCat - 7/26/2014, 8:55 PM

Some called that first view of ultron walking like a zombie, here we hear its kind of destroyed and looks like a broken puppy.
MFDOOM - 7/26/2014, 8:56 PM

KurtWagner1225 - 7/26/2014, 8:56 PM
i excited for both Ant Man (full description) and Age of Ultron..hopefully GOTG 1 is good so i can be excited for GOTG 2

The sequence starts in an empty lab as we hear the voices of Douglas' Pym talking to Rudd's Scott about how "superheroes are a goddamn joke" that just cause a lot of mayhem and destruction. But he needs Scott to take on the mantle of Ant-Man to handle "a small job." The camera snakes through the lab over all this until it finds the silver Ant-Man helmet on a table.

We then cut to Lang in the Ant-Man suit in miniature form running through an alley as he tries to elude his pursuers (possibly the police). He ends up on a ledge where an unseen Pym, via radio headset, instructing Scott what to do. That's when the cavalry shows up: a fly, which at that tiny size sounds like an incoming helicopter and dwarfs Lang. Pym tells Scott to instruct the ant what to do but Scott doesn't yet know how to communicate with the insect.

The fly buzzes away when the pursuers' helicopter hovers into frame. Scott must leap off the ledge, falls out of frame, and then resurfaces on the back of the fly. He makes a quip about it not being all that tough and they fly offscreen.

I think we won´t be seeing the footage of Avengers :(
Maestro - 7/26/2014, 8:58 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if Avengers 2 wins an oscar. It seems to have slight similarities to like a darker, psychotic Pinocchio like monster.
Abary - 7/26/2014, 8:59 PM
Is this literally the song from the trailer, though? LOLOLOL

NovaCorpsFan - 7/26/2014, 8:59 PM
Guys, the thing on the right of this image matches the description of Ultron's first form.

Reasonnnn - 7/26/2014, 9:01 PM
@Maestro I would be surprised if Avengers won an oscar wtf.
MrCBM56 - 7/26/2014, 9:01 PM
I have a feeling soon as I go to sleep, footage will leak. But @0megaDaGod speaks the truth. Though, Strange is all but confirmed. It's just a matter of "when" will get it, not "if" we will.
DeusExSponge - 7/26/2014, 9:02 PM
Nova - Wow, now we know why he rebelled against Stark! It's because Stark didn't put enough effort into making him look badass like he did with his Iron Man suits!
Reasonnnn - 7/26/2014, 9:02 PM
@0mega negotiations haven't finished though. Can't announce Phoenix if he hasn't signed lol
DaVinci31 - 7/26/2014, 9:03 PM

I had all of my gifs ready, too. I'm sure the trailer was worth it though; it sounded intense.
Maestro - 7/26/2014, 9:04 PM

Yeah. I can picture that song, ending the trailer, kind of like how Fallout 3 did with this song.

NovaCorpsFan - 7/26/2014, 9:04 PM
It's 5 a.m. where I'm at in Ireland and I refuse to sleep in case something leaks.
MrCBM56 - 7/26/2014, 9:04 PM
@DaVinci31 Not going to lie, doing the LIVE-BLOGGING panel, I had about 4 tabs worth of gifs ready for posting haha
TucksDeluxe - 7/26/2014, 9:04 PM

MrCBM56 - 7/26/2014, 9:05 PM

DaVinci31 - 7/26/2014, 9:06 PM

Exactly, man. Exactly.
KurtWagner1225 - 7/26/2014, 9:06 PM
i think the ant man footage sounds really cool..i hope thats good
NovaCorpsFan - 7/26/2014, 9:07 PM
It's not too difficult, I was more or less preparing for no-sleep tonight anyway. Last year it was a bit more worth it though.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/26/2014, 9:07 PM
smh, for all we know, Dr. Strange could be coming out in 2017!

Again, I was disappointed with this panel. They could of at least announce 2 new the movies coming out for the rest of 2016 and one of the movies in 2017.
Darktower - 7/26/2014, 9:07 PM
Where the hell is the trailer ?
NovaCorpsFan - 7/26/2014, 9:10 PM
Remember when it took like nearly six months or something for the Ant-Man footage to leak.
staypuffed - 7/26/2014, 9:10 PM
Four days 'til I see Guardians - can't freaking wait to catch a glimpse of Thanos!
MrCBM56 - 7/26/2014, 9:11 PM
Dammit @Tucks! You and your [frick]ing leaks...
