In the following video interview, Peyton Reed praises Ant-Man's "terrific" script (which is still being worked on) before going on to discuss the relationship between Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), as well as the potential challenges of making the character a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The director also comments on Yellowjacket being in the movie, before teasing the appearance of other bad guys by stating that it , "depends on how you define 'villain'". Finally, he promises that Adam McKay is bringing a lot to the movie's script, including plenty of Easter Eggs as he's a huge Marvel fan. As for humour, it sounds as if Ant-Man will be similar to most of the other Marvel Studios in that respect. Check out the interview below and then be sure to share your thoughts on these comments in the usual place!

Cool beans
CherryBomb - 7/29/2014, 4:32 PM
Most of the "problems" are Wright's fault, :(

Peyton Reed is a meh director. Hopefully be can wow me.
themidnightking - 7/29/2014, 4:33 PM
Somebody leak the test footage!
DeusExSponge - 7/29/2014, 4:33 PM
This article is going to go down in flames no matter what, abandon all hope and leave!!!
SpiderFraud - 7/29/2014, 4:33 PM
Need to hurry up with that trailer, so people can stop complaining.
PymParticle - 7/29/2014, 4:34 PM
This sounds bad. It doesn't look like he wants to be there very much either.

Getting a bad vibe from this.
themidnightking - 7/29/2014, 4:35 PM
You must be new to this site. Haha

I am still looking forward to seeing how they can pull this off
PymParticle - 7/29/2014, 4:35 PM
And i'm not pinning it on him.
themidnightking - 7/29/2014, 4:36 PM
When the first trailer is released, everyone will be back onboard the Ant-Man, so I ain't worried.
SpiderFraud - 7/29/2014, 4:40 PM
Haters reaction on this site before footage...

Haters reaction on this site after footage...

AlexanderLykins - 7/29/2014, 4:41 PM
Today is not an Ant-Man day for me.
AlexanderLykins - 7/29/2014, 4:42 PM
Did footage leak?
PymParticle - 7/29/2014, 4:43 PM
"depends on how you define 'villain'"

The twist will be both Hank Pym / Hope Van Dyne are villains. LMAO -- All the original characters are villains and Scott Lang is the hero.

AMAZING script.
SpiderFraud - 7/29/2014, 4:45 PM

Nah, I'm just predicting how some people are on this site.

Sorry if I made it look like the Comic-Con footage leaked.

Now I feel like a ass, lol.

GliderMan - 7/29/2014, 4:47 PM
This movie will be highly controversial and very, VERY different from the Ant-Man comics. But it will also be good.
AlexanderLykins - 7/29/2014, 4:47 PM
You got me excited.
FordEl - 7/29/2014, 4:48 PM
Uggghhh more unnecessary humor at random moments that are probably not even funny. Hopefully it'll be like Cap 2's balance and its not oversaturated with it and it actually works; but since its Marvel im preparing for worst in the writing department.
AlexanderLykins - 7/29/2014, 4:49 PM
I'm just worried it's going to leak and I'm going to miss it.
McNyagano - 7/29/2014, 4:55 PM
Some people are going to eat crow when this film knocks it out of the park. I have way more faith in this than I have in the FF reboot.
JohnCarter - 7/29/2014, 4:58 PM

Hopefully it'll be like Cap 2's balance and its not oversaturated with it and it actually works; but since its Marvel im preparing for worst in the writing department.

Can't be that bad if you're here.
GliderMan - 7/29/2014, 4:59 PM
WHY DO YOU PEOPLE NOT LIKE HUMOR? Why are you complaining about LAUGHING?

Seriously, it does NOT take away from the story. Iron Man 3 was an action-comedy and it had a great story, even though it was vastly different from the comics.

Besides, it's Ant-Man. The title alone suggests it's supposed to be an action-comedy.
Space - 7/29/2014, 5:02 PM
I'm sure this film will be decent.
GageHarts - 7/29/2014, 5:03 PM
I hate that people come on here and bitch about humor. You're just looking for something to be mad at. It's annoying. Humor doesn't take away anything from the story.
KilledHal9000 - 7/29/2014, 5:06 PM
You know I'm a huge Edgar Wright fan & in fact I started to get interested in Ant-Man back in 2006 when he was announced as director of this film. I enjoy Lang as a character very much and was stoked when they announced Rudd to play him (called it at the oscars last year). Having said that, I was pissed when Wright left but I think this movie is going to be great. I cannot wait. I don't understand all the hate.
JohnCarter - 7/29/2014, 5:07 PM
Personally I already like Hank Pym from what I heard at ComicCon.
KurtWagner1225 - 7/29/2014, 5:08 PM
FordEl-if its funny or not depends on what u think is funny.. Humor is thing that may be funny to me may not be to another person and for me personally the only films were i have thought the humor went a little overboard imo or was unnecessary was IM3 and Thor 2, the humor for me went overboard a couple of times in IM3 and thats because i really Shane Blacks sense of humor ,it appeals to me and i think the humor in Thor 2 from Thor and Loki is great but i do agree that the side human characters besides Jane cause frankly,i like Jane and i think Thor needs a connection to Humanity but the side human characters were lame and unfunny but i do agree Cap 2 had the perfect mix of humor and drama and Guardians so far , seems to be nailing the tone of the comic, its apparently very funny, very action packed but takes itself seriously when it needs to and is an emotional film as well
staticdash - 7/29/2014, 5:10 PM
This movie is going to suck lol. In the end, I'm sure Marvel is going to play it safe with this one, with a good amount of unnecessary humor, predictable plot twists, and a whole lot of corn....
KurtWagner1225 - 7/29/2014, 5:11 PM
i am so digging the mentor /mentee angle and obviously the heist movie element just sounds so great imo
KeithM - 7/29/2014, 5:14 PM

Janet's reaction to being told she has no role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Honestly, I blame Wright for this bullshit. He signed up to make this [frick]ing movie almost a decade ago and kept pushing it back while insisting on doing the 'Scott Lang' version of the story. Feige and the rest of the studio indulged him, but who's to say that a different filmmaker wouldn't want to make the 'Hank Pym/Janet van Dyne team-up movie' that this should have [frick]in' been in the first place? But instead, Wright sat on the property while demanding it be done his way until Feige and friends finally kicked him out, and now they have to finish the damn movie while maintaining a half-baked version of his movie.

I was only interested in an Ant-Man movie for Wasp, and now she is forever cast out of the MCU because of the whims of a filmmaker who isn't even making the damn film anymore!

Spideysense44 - 7/29/2014, 5:32 PM
So you guys expected Antman to be a dark gritty film...lmao go away please
Spideysense44 - 7/29/2014, 5:35 PM
Only people who hate this film are butt hurt hank pym fans (which I didn't even know they had) and DC fans who think this will be "the fall of Marvel"
TheRealRemyLebeau - 7/29/2014, 6:55 PM
@RobertLeifeld name the significant things Hank and Janet have done please.
AgeofApocalypse - 7/29/2014, 7:05 PM
Janet was Chairman of the Avengers.
TheRedCondom - 7/29/2014, 7:12 PM
This RobertLeifield just doesn't quit does he?

There's more to life then this movie kid
batz11 - 7/29/2014, 7:45 PM
I have a feeling this movie will kill it, at least hope so...
ThePowerCosmic - 7/29/2014, 7:57 PM
Humor is a key element. It makes comic book films more enjoyable and it's one of the reasons Marvels films are more successful than other CBMs.

Suck it haters!

Ya know what else...this film is going to be great.
TheBrotherhood - 7/29/2014, 8:19 PM
Adam McKay is bringing a lot to the movie's script, including plenty of Easter Eggs as he's a huge Marvel fan.

As I've said, I can sense the same vibe from Peyton Reed (and now add in McKay) as the same DNA of James Gunn when it comes to Marvel lore.

Hopefully they can deliver their own tone to add a sub-genre once again for the MCU.
CrimsonCowl55 - 7/29/2014, 9:33 PM
Real life is enough of a downer man, I want to have a good time at the movies. Marvel studios always delivers. Don't need that gritty humorless crap
