DarthSandwich - 8/19/2014, 9:47 AM
How can he bend his arms in that thing?
anthonyEstark - 8/19/2014, 9:47 AM
I'd buy that for a dollar... And a lot more!
antman8o8 - 8/19/2014, 9:48 AM

Love Tony plugging into the outlet.
Nomis - 8/19/2014, 9:51 AM
LOVE the '70s old school armor!
SimyJo - 8/19/2014, 9:55 AM
Alex Ross made these when he was 11 years old!:

11 f**cking years old! - 11 !

He hates them, he thinks they look goofy and embarrassing.

That's the kind of god-given talent Alex Ross has and the innate love he has for the superhero genre.#

He was BORN for this sh*t !.

whoa.
i was about to say that this site is over-using the word "stunning" when it comes to Alex Ross...but, nope! that's very accurate here! beautiful, I'd frame it.
ManofSteel23 - 8/19/2014, 9:57 AM

That's damn impressive for an 11 year old.

I tried making an Iron Man mini-bust out of empty beer cans once, but I f*cked even that up.
SimyJo - 8/19/2014, 10:00 AM
If they haven't got it already I suggest everyone looks at getting hold of a copy of 'Mythology':

JoshuaGraham - 8/19/2014, 10:01 AM
Thats amazing, that metallic underwear on the outside.
Gusto - 8/19/2014, 10:02 AM
I wish they'd use the flex/knit armor in the upcoming movies.
Maxi91291 - 8/19/2014, 10:05 AM
That is incredible but I cant stop laughing when I see Tony plugging his chest armor into a socket :D
Afro - 8/19/2014, 10:06 AM
I love the Avengers all around the table. Then he adds Tony plugging into an outlet as if they are all watching impatiently for him to hurry up and join the meeting even if that's not what he was going for. I think it's great.
0megaDaGod - 8/19/2014, 10:06 AM
Ross is just flawless. It's almost scarily good

LOL @ the top right corner pic

"Booty had me like...."

*Dies from heart attack*
Klone - 8/19/2014, 10:06 AM
Ross, get your [frick]ing arse back at DC now so they can enslave you and force you to produce tons of quality work like this.
DylansMyDog - 8/19/2014, 10:07 AM
Alex Ross is awesome and this is some great work
Klone - 8/19/2014, 10:07 AM
Ross is one of the few artists that can draw the classic looks and make them every bit as good if not better sometimes than the modern, updated costumes.

I always thought Tony Stark was a paraplegic in the comics until the movies. And that's why no one thought he was Iron Man. I'd only read like Iron Man that was a distant memory, so you know.

But did that ever actually happen in the comics or am I making up brain stories..?
Maxi91291 - 8/19/2014, 10:10 AM
Is that Bob behind Cap ?
Maxi91291 - 8/19/2014, 10:11 AM
@case

No ... that was the case in the past (lameass pun intended :)).
case - 8/19/2014, 10:12 AM
So it was a story arc? Did it last long?
TheRationalNerd - 8/19/2014, 10:14 AM
I really wish Stark wore his all gold armor in Avengers. It would've been beautiful.
Phronesis - 8/19/2014, 10:14 AM
Amazing artwork.
Maxi91291 - 8/19/2014, 10:17 AM
@case

Not just a storyarc .... it was like that for a long long time in the comics but many years ago
GenreFan - 8/19/2014, 10:17 AM
@SimyJo My wife got that for me a few years back. Its an AMAZING Book
AsgardianHobo - 8/19/2014, 10:19 AM
Sexy
Tempo - 8/19/2014, 10:22 AM
I hope for a Mandarin treatment by Alex Ross.
Superior - 8/19/2014, 10:22 AM
Alex Ross is one of the greatest artists ever. This piece of art is fantastic.
Klone - 8/19/2014, 10:23 AM
@TheRationaNerd

He gets jealousy of Cap so decides to one up him by creating solid gold armor.
case - 8/19/2014, 10:27 AM
Ah got ya. Didn't think I was crazy, yet no one seems to bring it up ever.
Dedpool - 8/19/2014, 10:29 AM
@ SimyJo - Yeah I have it! Great book. I wish they'd do a Marvel one though!!!
TheBeard - 8/19/2014, 10:36 AM
Very nice
Nigrutin - 8/19/2014, 10:52 AM

-Anthony Stark
RajunRemyLebeau - 8/19/2014, 11:15 AM
@simyjo No Batman, I noticed. LOL.
Largo161 - 8/19/2014, 11:21 AM
Beautiful. Would like to see the cinematic Tony in that classic Bronze age "flexible" armor.
Largo161 - 8/19/2014, 11:25 AM
The main figure is in a very Gene Colan-esque pose. Wonder if that's intentional.
