Ra's Al Ghul was recently revealed to be the big bad of Arrow's third season, and while we still don't know who will play the villain in The CW series, we do now know of at least one actor interested in taking on the role even if does just so happen to be someone who's already played him! Asked by MTV News whether he's been approached about making a return, Liam Neeson told them: "No, I haven’t, I haven’t at all," but if asked, "I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah Very much so." Of course, the chances of the network being able to afford an actor of Neeson's calibre or Arrow linking to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy in this way are pretty much slim to none, but it would still be interesting to see! Regardless, the A Walk Among the Tombstones star was happy to share some advice with whoever does end up landing the prize part. "They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it." What do you guys think?

I would root for Neeson to kick Arrow's ass.
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/29/2014, 2:47 PM
Liam Neeson on television? That's something.
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/29/2014, 2:47 PM
His portrayal of the character was actually really good in Batman Begins. He should be asked to return.
MrCBM56 - 8/29/2014, 2:47 PM
Nah. I'd rather have Taken 3.
batz11 - 8/29/2014, 2:48 PM
I don't think he really understood the CW/WB part, haha, movie role I reckon...
batz11 - 8/29/2014, 2:48 PM
Watching Batman Begins on HBO right now :)
MrCBM56 - 8/29/2014, 2:49 PM
@batz It's been on HBO a lot lately. I wish TDK would be too. They already play TDKR.
batz11 - 8/29/2014, 2:50 PM
Yeah, I wished TDK was on it too, never see it unless it's on TNT or FX or whatever cable channel broadcasts it (suck with commercials though) haha
Dingbat - 8/29/2014, 2:53 PM
That would actually be pretty great. Liam Neeson truly comprehends who Ra's Al Ghul is. He knows the character well and understands his motivations.

If they won't give BvS a connection to the TDK trilogy maybe Arrow can.

Muahaha.
ALegendaryPanda - 8/29/2014, 2:54 PM
He was amazing in Batman Begins. This is still one of my favorite scenes of the trilogy:

localsonlymills - 8/29/2014, 3:03 PM
@dio lmfao what show is that from?
Highflyer - 8/29/2014, 3:04 PM
My life would be complete.
Jhuntdaprodigy - 8/29/2014, 3:04 PM
If it could actually happen they would get rid of whoever they casted for the role so fast lol
gambgel - 8/29/2014, 3:08 PM
this is a surprise. If producers dont call him now, they are soooooooo stupid, lol
penguinlover - 8/29/2014, 3:17 PM
I seriously doubt they could fit him into the show with their budget.
TheFox - 8/29/2014, 3:18 PM
Oh, MAN, that would be cool! Seriously, the implication that Arrow and Batman Begins were set in the same universe?!? (Drool)

I mean, it's kind of an impossibility, obviously... the League in the Arrow universe is very clearly a different organization with a different agenda than the one in Batman Begins. They even have different names (what with Nolan repurposing the League of Assassins as the "League of Shadows").

But MAAAAAN... That would be sweet. There's just no way in Hell the CW could afford him.

I'm so down for this!
AlphaAndDecima - 8/29/2014, 3:26 PM
No way Arrow will ever get Liam Neeson, but whoever is Arrow's version of Ra's, I hope it's in the same league as Neeson's take. Say what you want/argue about whatever when it comes to how you say the name, but Liam Neeson's portrayal of Ra's al Ghul was fantastic.

Also, I heard ramblings during the filming for The Dark Knight Rises that Liam Neeson wasn't even really involved in his reprisal as Ra's al Ghul and never seemed like he put any thought into returning as Ra's, although, from this interview, it sounded like Liam definitely enjoyed the role and understood the character very well.
Jollem - 8/29/2014, 3:28 PM
liam owned it
DavesNotHere93 - 8/29/2014, 3:28 PM
If only CW and WB would be smart enough to just combine universes maybe they can actually afford shit like this and Josh Brolin as Two Face :D
AlphaAndDecima - 8/29/2014, 3:29 PM
@TheFox

"I mean, it's kind of an impossibility, obviously... the League in the Arrow universe is very clearly a different organization with a different agenda"

I would argue that their agenda will be the same. Just because Ra's al Ghul was against Malcolm Merlyn's Undertaking doesn't mean that Ra's al Ghul is against destroying corruption from within. I always presumed that idea that Ra's is only upset simply because Malcolm tried to "cleanse" Starling City without Ra's even being involved.
Grodd87 - 8/29/2014, 3:32 PM
Maybe they can get him if they give him 50% of the CW
yingyangpalms - 8/29/2014, 3:34 PM
When the amateur interviewer mumbled and ask the 1st question too fast, Neeson didn't hear him say Arrow the TV show. Then when the dumbass asked again he left out the TV show part. Neeson thought the babbling moron was talking about a film.
Neeson does films. He wouldn't do TV unless it was something big. He wouldn't do some shit TV show on shit CW.
batz11 - 8/29/2014, 3:34 PM
CookieKid
That K&P is hilarious, LMAO
MantiniuMan - 8/29/2014, 3:35 PM

NightmareB4 - 8/29/2014, 3:38 PM
THIS would make me watch Arrow
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 8/29/2014, 3:39 PM
That would be somethin
Meteor - 8/29/2014, 3:40 PM
It's cool to see that he very liked his role as Ra's. It seems like it was not just "a job".
thatcoldblackcloud - 8/29/2014, 3:40 PM
Exactly What @NightmareB4 said!
Nomis - 8/29/2014, 3:40 PM
MAN, CW or WB or WHOEVER...MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!
Nivekian - 8/29/2014, 3:46 PM
No thank you, Liam, we need to wash this Nolan-Batman backwash out of everyones pallets. Keep doing what you are doing remaking Taken again and again.
DangerRoom - 8/29/2014, 3:47 PM
I don't think he knows Arrow is on TV. He wouldn't return to the role if it's on TV... Not yet in his career anyway.
