Jeffrey Dean Morgan Talks BEFORE WATCHMEN; Expresses Interest In Playing The Comedian
The actor, who played 'The Comedian' in 2009's Watchmen, shares his thoughts on the upcoming Before Watchmen comic book prequels and reveals that he'd only return to the role under a few very specific circumstances.
"I don't know how I feel about it," Morgan told MTV News in a recent interview. "If Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore aren't part of it, I don't know how you do that. I think it's a tricky thing. I'd best stay out of that argument and conversation. I'm a stickler for what we did. We made that as a oneoff. There was no prequel talk or sequel talk, and Alan Moore didn't write it."
However, there are a few certain conditions which would make him reconsider returning to the role. "If Dave Gibbons said, 'This is okay,' and if [director Zack Snyder] was on board, then I'm there. One, just to work with Zack again. He's one of the directors in my life that I would work with anytime, anywhere, on anything. But I remember having conversations with him years ago saying this will never happen again—this is it. So we'll see!"
Regardless of what happens with any future big screen adaptations, Morgan is planning on checking out the upcoming comic books: "I'm going to check it out when it comes out, for sure. I'm interested to see it." Matthew Goode (Ozymandias) also shared his thoughts on Before Watchmen recently and you can find that interview by clicking HERE.
