Christopher Nolan returns to complete the Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Inception's Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt join the cast regulars along with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) and Tom Hardy as the powerful villain Bane. Christian Bale prowls the night as the Caped Crusader, fighting crime and corruption with the help of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman.

Revealed in Newsarama's background as a part of an advert for the relaunch of DC's new website, we now have this brand new image of Christian Bale as Batman from The Dark Knight Rises. It appears to be a mixture of live action photography and the CGI artwork typically associated with toy packaging, but makes for a striking image nonetheless.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

Banes going to break the bat
dahamma - 3/7/2012, 9:24 AM
Nice!! One costume they got right in this film!
ClarkStark - 3/7/2012, 9:25 AM
Is there any difference between this costume and his old TDK costume?

Iron Man armor upgrades for every movie kind of spoiled it.
GingerBird - 3/7/2012, 9:25 AM
This is just the calm before the storm my friends. New Trailer in May.
HughJasol - 3/7/2012, 9:27 AM
That looks F'n BADASS! Batman is ready to whoop some ass in 2012.
Betty - 3/7/2012, 9:29 AM
The only difference i see is that they finally got rid of his big, gay, jaw muscles! Yay!
GUNSMITH - 3/7/2012, 9:31 AM
I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING BUT IF EVER NOLAN DID A FORTH..
bropous - 3/7/2012, 9:32 AM
*sigh*

I am just SO "meh" about this flick. Mini-Bane just does not scream "epic", folks, and Nolan for damn sure is gonna kill off Batman.

I'll see it, but oh boy after John Carter and The Avengers, this flick is going to be tremendously upstaged.

However, if DC Films wants to get into the ring with Marvel Studios and start cranking out REAL comic book movies, not this "normalized" crap of the Nolan universe (of which Heath LEdger's performance was the ONLY bright spot), it will be a good thing for ALL comic book fans.

Problem is, Marvel just has ZERO competition coming out of the movie making arm of House of DC. And that is really a sad state of affairs.
dahamma - 3/7/2012, 9:36 AM
@Gunsmith, Yeah the bigger Bat Symbol does look better
Shaman - 3/7/2012, 9:41 AM
bropous- I have to say, i'm pretty much in agreement with everything you just said. I couldn't and won't add anything else.
Shaman - 3/7/2012, 9:42 AM
GUNSMITH- Best batsuit ever conceived of!
Action - 3/7/2012, 9:48 AM
Christian Bale is the best Batman ever!!!

Batman Dark Knight rises, will rule the box office of 2012.
xXkryptoniteXx - 3/7/2012, 9:50 AM
Wow that looks so bad ass
TheHitchhikingGhost - 3/7/2012, 9:51 AM
So blatantly a statue. C'mon super-friends.
bropous - 3/7/2012, 9:56 AM
Gunsmith, now that is a Batsuit a movie could be proud of.

Bring on the reboot! Again!

And DC Films: FIND YOUR G'NADS!!!!!! TAKE A CHANCE!
xXkryptoniteXx - 3/7/2012, 9:56 AM
@action

Kevin Conroy Is the best Batman and Bruce wayne no one can top. His portay for both are great and well done, of you don't agree then I suggest you go watch some of his work. Batman the animated series.

I'm not trying to take anything off Christian bale but his batman isn't the best but just new and in the new media, hence why people keep saying his the best. I will say his the best Bruce Wayne in a live action movie. The best batman in LiVE ACTION is Michael Keaton. Best batman costume is with Nolan's version, and kevin Conroy will still hold his spot as the best of them all.
