Marion Cotillard Definitively States She Is NOT Talia Al Ghul In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Despite rumours to the contrary, The Dark Knight Rises star makes it clear that she will not be playing Talia Al Ghul in the third and final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, dropping a few new details about Miranda Tate.
There has been a lot of talk about who exactly Marion Cotillard will play in The Dark Knight Rises over the past year or two. Fans and various rumours have had the Miranda Tate persona pegged as being a cover for Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Batman Begins villain Ra's Al Ghul (played in that film by Liam Neeson). Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the French actress reveals that she only has, "a very, very small role," in the film, mainly due to her joining the production at a fairly late stage after having a baby. Cotillard also confirms that despite what we may have heard, Miranda Tate is NOT secretly Talia and the site goes on to describe her as an ecologically minded businesswoman who "is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises"). She adds, "They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She's a good guy." And does she remain "good" throughout? "Yes," she says, perhaps putting those rumours to an end for good. Considering the fact that we've seen set photos which indicate that she's far from a good guy, I'm guessing not...
