COMICS: First Look At INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #518; Who Is The New Iron Man?

Too many glowy Tron bits on this armour. And the gauntlet's aren't needed. They cheapen the look of it. Make it look a bit too 90's. There's only one Iron Man and that's Tony Stark.

Iron Man is the easiest identity to transfer to other people, since its based on the armor. A big difference from Spider-man.

@Tevii Go read the thread about whether Miles will die in the new Spider-Men comic and then you will see my point. I'm not going to go back and forth about it here because I find that most people don't know how to use systemic logic. Anyway, replacing all white characters with black character is not the point. The utter hatred for Miles is the point. I don't give a shit that one iteration of Spider-Man is black because its not as if Peter Parker isn't in the comics anymore. The argument of what if Blade were made white is ludicrous because there are so few prominent non-white heroes. We can all name a few, but its still a few. Name 15 prominent black heroes, 15 latino ones, 15 asian heroes...so one and so forth. When these characters were created in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s white culture was the dominate culture in America. This is really up for debate. However, nowadays with a closer to a minority majority country and the culture is and has been shifting. Does that mean Superman has be latino? No, of course not. However, it doesn't mean that an alternative universe can't have a black/latino Spider-Man. I am black and it was really awesome reading the first Miles TPB. I gave it to my nephew and he loved it. He is 11 and a huge Spider-Man fan. Seeing another Spider-Man (he doesn't see him as a replacement, he sees him as just another Spider-Man) that looks like him is pretty great. If you are white and grew up in America you never had to think about heroes who didn't look like you. You don't have to think about wanting to dress up like a hero who is a different color than you for Halloween. Those thoughts don't occur. For black kids, for example, its a nice thing to be included. Is it a marketing thing, sure. They are trying to reach larger audiences...why is that horrible? If they killed off Parker in the 616 universe and make him black then that would suck. However, they aren't. If Tony Stark was suddenly replaced permanantly by Rhodes that would suck, and I wouldn't support it but having black, latino, Asian folks included in comics in a prominent role is not only socially a good thing, but from a marketing perspective it makes since. Things change and until all the classic heroes are brown and all the white characters are dead I think we can just relax.

Tony Stark is Iron Man.

The new Iron Man I think is the Kree "Protector". The colors match his current costume and recently I think it was AVX #1 he said that he wanted his advanced Kree tech but Noh-Varr wouldn't give it to him and Cap says that he never will and Tony says that he just has to make the right offer.
