The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled Ryan Ottley's bloody variant for The Walking Dead #100. The issue goes on sale on July 11th at the San Diego Comic-Con. Talking to the site, Ottley said: "When Robert asked me to draw a cover for The Walking Dead, he said the magic words: 'draw whatever you want.' So I was totally excited to do something 'action-y' with Michonne and her sword.She's always been my favorite character in the book, and soon to be in the TV show as well. And it's always fun drawing zombie gore, especially with swords!" Other artists who will provide variants include Todd McFarlane, Sean Phillips, Bryan Hitch and Charlie Adlard. Frank Quitely and Marc Silvestri's can be found HERE.

"SOMETHING TO FEAR" CONTINUES! This extra-sized chapter contains one of the darkest moments in Rick Grimes' life, and one of the most violent and brutal things to happen within the pages of this series. 100 issues later, this series remains just as relentless as the debut issue. Do not miss the monumental 100th issue of THE WALKING DEAD!

I like the little bit of snipped of tongue... and how unimpressed the top of the zombo's head looks

@Just1Superguy

Danai Gurira is a very close match to how I always imagined Michonne would look -- she looks like the way they currently draw Michonne as opposed to what she looked like on the cover of her very first appearance (I thought it was a man...).

She's no Rutina Westley, but she looks fine.

If HighSchoolOfTheDead has taught me anything, it's that no blade stays sharp forever.

This si just a thought of mine, zombies are rotting corpses, so what would have been cool would be if in issue 1 they looked like the romano series zombies, and eventually their bodies would decompose and by issue 100 if 2% of the worlds population is still alive the 98% of the zombies would all just be walking bones and so it would all be over even if they never find a cure, unless of course they never decompose.

Why am I hearing complaints about how "pretty" an actress should be in a show whose story doesn't require good looks? See this mentality is one of the key reasons why no one believes an American Misfits show will translate from the British version. Casting pretty boys and girls would take from the show. (Nothing against the country, but not every lead actor/actress has to look like a model)

Love Ottley's work but this cover lacks the impact of the standard issue cover. It'd be PERFECT for another cover for any other number of the series, but not for #100.
