New Concept Art From MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS Offers A Full Look At Thanos

This September, Marvel are launching Thanos: The Final Threat and Thanos Quest, two new series focusing on the Mad Titan. As well as the covers for those, one features concept art from Marvel's The Avengers by Andy Park offering a full look at the villain.

He’s the most talked about villain of the year, and this fall Marvel is bringing fans everything you need to know about Thanos in Thanos: The Final Threat #1 and Thanos Quest #1! From creator Jim Starlin, Thanos: The Final Threat #1 follows the Mad Eternal as he gathers the cosmic Infinity Gems in a bid for interplanetary power! Can even the combined might of the Avengers, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, and others stand up to Thanos might? But that’s not all! Jim Starlin and Ron Lim continue the son of Titan’s quest for power in Thanos Quest #1! Except this time, he’s looking destroy half the population of the universe, and rule all he surveys! And with a cover featuring the concept art from Marvel’s The Avengers by Andy Park, no fan can miss out!

@JonathaNisMagnuM I've seen The Avengers six times already,and everytime Thanos shows his face and smiles onscreen,I smile and I walk out of the theater with my chest pumped out.The ultimate geek moment even if he is just onscreen for only a few seconds.The ultimate villain and I can't wait to see him unleashed!

Uhm so are these just reprints of The Infinity Gauntlet with snazzy new covers? Cause that sounds like the same story. Am I wrong here? Did I miss something in the fine print?

There was no infatuation between the two. He was obsessed with her, but Death never loved him. She aided in his downfall. And Thanos is a sadistic moron. Yeah, I said it. I have to agree with another poster when they said:

Been there, done that. WHY ARE WE RECYCLING AN OLD STORY?!?!? When I got to the end of the last Avengers Assemble, my only reaction was "WHAT????" How can he even be back? It makes no sense.

I think that Thanos is NOT going to be the bad guy in the next Avengers movie. I think that he will be the bad guy in a FUTURE film that brings together a variety of Marvel TEAMS. So, there will be a few Guardians of the Galaxy Flicks, another Avenger's flick and then a monstrous cross-over where the Guardians (and Nova and Quasar) plus the Avengers plus the Inhumans take on Thanos in a two part epic that will dwarf ALL PREVIOUS FILMS.

I'm surprised no one here has speculated how in the hell they're going to defeat Thanos in the movies without making it seem like a cop out.

How exactly is he defeated in the comics?

Apocalypse is very powerful, but he couldn't hold a torch against Thanos. That fight would last about 5mins (and 4:50 mins of that would be Thanos toy around with Apocalypse).

Dracula - Have you actually read the Infinity Gauntlet? Cause based on that list, you definitely haven't. Thanos wiped them all out with very minimal effort. If they don't introduce Adam Warlock and Dr. Strange (and the Silver Surfer, but we all know that ain't happening) and the cosmic beings like Galactus, the Stranger, Kronos, etc, then it is completely 100% pointless. There is no way they can do the Avengers vs Thanos in the Avengers 2 and if they did, it would be a disaster of EPIC proportions!

when marvel gets x men back they need to introduse a few character and add to it as the series goes on for the first film they need to cast
