Marvel is proud to present your first look at legendary artist Adam Kubert’s variant cover to Avengers Vs. X-Men #8 – featuring the Phoenix Five! Now that the Cyclops has declared “No More Avengers”, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are on the run! The chase comes to a head in Wakanda, as the sovereign nation becomes the target of an out-of-control Namor! Will the onslaught of the powered-up Sub-Mariner overwhelm the Avengers? The answer – and a shocking truth about the X-Men – are revealed this July courtesy of Brian Bendis and Adam Kubert in Avengers Vs. X-Men #8, exploding into comic shops everywhere, the Marvel Comics app and the Marvel Digital Comics Shop this July.

Cyclops is good enough to wield Mjolnir and Cap's shield. Symbolically, that image is a validation of Scott's cause.

Pretty sure he would lose to phoenix Magik... Just because she is magic lolol. An Namor and Colossus are on super steroids now and can fly so I think it's tie for them but Magik would stab superman with her sword and he would die that's the fight

Love Adam Kubert's work. He has got to be one of my favourite comic artists ever. Still don't get why Cyclops is wearing a red thong though. I always knew there was something perverted about that squinty weirdo.

So now the X in X-Men comes from the X in Phenix not Xavier? Hence all the birds on the costumes and not X's? I miss the X-men from the 80's and early 90's!

It's a cover... if it happens inside the book, we can say he's worthy. Seriously though, covers often show as much symbolism as foreshadowing. This is Cyke standing triumphant over the Avengers... as it should be.

Cyke no longer needs the visor, nor do they need armor. They are truly Gods now and those items are just for appearance.

As usual, the cover will not reflect what takes place inside the book. I can guarantee you Caps shield will not be broken again so soon and Thors hammer won't be all chipped and busted up, and I'm pretty sure the enchantment won't allow even a Phoenix powered Cyclops to wield it because his corruption from that power makes him unworthy.

This isn't the first (or even the 20th) cover this year alone that displays a scene that never takes place in the book.

since when is Scott "¤%¤#%ing summers worthy? to either one of those two? Not in the sense of not everybody is able to hold Cap's shield, I just don't think he's "worthy" to be anywhere near that shield, the current Summers I mean... Still, I think this event improved since issue 6, I'm definitely eager to read the next one!!

Anyway the latest incarnation of Aquaman is FANTASTIC. Ive always enjoyed Namor in the past, but currently Aquaman is better

okay, i prefer namor to aquaman too, but i can't say that his name is better... i mean submariner? really? both names suck but at least marvel wised up and just started calling him namor, lol. and namor's kinda silly too with those wings on his feet and that awful green speedo. why oh why does he have silly wings on his feet???

Worst crossover I've ever read. I'm pretty sure Helen Keller can draw better than Romita can. And she's dead.

Can't wait for Iron Man to cum out of the closet in the comics and in Iron Man 3. It's going to be Marvel's next shitty crossover next summer. Intruder is going to buy it no doubt and enjoy reading every last bit of it while caressing his two-inch cock in one of his infant sister's socks while sitting in his parent's basement. It's gay.
