Cool teasers so far
MrsTonyStark0507 - 6/26/2012, 7:13 AM
Just1Superguy - Yup. That about sums it up. Wouldn't it be great to see a comic where nothing happens? Like maybe, the Avengers go on a cruise together and everyone has a great time and nothing bad happens. Wouldn't that be different for a change? LOL!!
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 7:14 AM
@ Just1Superguy

Yes, lets leave out the stories that don't fit your objective opinion, why don't we? You seem to forget Secret Invasion and Siege, also the upcoming Ultron War. Lets also not forget about all the stories happening in between the big events, that, for the most part are nothing BUT heroes fighting villains.

Also, two words: Trinity War.

haters gonna hate I guess.
Just1SuperGuy....dude the time it took you to come up with that witty little ditty is more than enough to encompass a DC writer's meeting with Johns, Jurgens, and Morrisux...and it all ends with.."We'll just have Jim Lee draw something and we'll wrap the story around it...mmmkay?"
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 7:40 AM
@ just1superguy

I wouldn't exactly call Secret Invasion a "clone" story. the Skrulls incited deceit by infiltrating the planet. yes, they took the places of the heroes, but it wasn't like a normal "clone" story, where a hero has an evil clone everyone has to deal with. very important members of every team were replaced with Skrulls in disguise. it was actually pretty original. Much more original than some "clone" story.

waahhh wahhhh!!
DanteSparda - 6/26/2012, 8:13 AM
I give this new event my blessing if this war doesn't put heroes VS heroes again. I wonder if this war is the result of the Phoenix Five actions...
LucasMend - 6/26/2012, 8:40 AM
Might be the whole universe fighting each other this time, marvel is really loving the whole war concept huh
@ SteveRogersSon - Ah come on, buddy, you know Jim Lee has never drawn an event for DC. =)

touche buddy...touche LOL
MrsTonyStark0507 - 6/26/2012, 9:13 AM
Just1Superguy - I think I wasn't very clear with my point, LOL. I was actually agreeing with you. I just think it would be nice to maybe not have the good guys always fighting each other. It's getting old and it is ot fun to read. Like take the whole Civil War storyline. I HATE seeing Cap and Iron Man at odds. It is hard to watch and its pretty sad.

But seeing as how we don't actually know what this is about yet, maybe I am jumping the gun.
OdinsBeard - 6/26/2012, 9:39 AM
if the good guys fighting the bad guys is getting old, marvel then why not.. i dunno.. make the bad guys better? or make the heroes into villains indefinitely like you should have done with Daredevil. could have been one of the greatest falls from grace ever in comics.. swept under the rug. or when Doom killed his master and ended up being much better and stronger by the end Millar's run and then thats totally forgotten about too, left to have a "war" with black panther. cool yeah, but this is dr mother freakin doom we're talking about here!

marvel always sells "we're changing the status quo!" of course you are because after every story everything just reverts back to the norm.
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 9:48 AM
@ patientzero

So what exactly DOESN'T qualify as a war type story? all of these stories were big events, with a villain that has an army of henchmen. You're going to have that in ANY big storyline.

and I REALLY hope you aren't somehow insinuating that DC isn't the same way? Because I can name quite a few stories from them that can be considered "war stories" also.

Also, you have a few stories in there that really have nothing to do with war at all, like Disassembled and House of M.

Anyway, DC has ALL the Crisis Stories, which in itself is a ton of stories. Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Batman: War Games, Kingdom Come, 52: World War III...

The list goes on and on, these are just stories that I've read from DC, as I'm sure there are tons more. Acting like Marvel is the sole offender here is ridiculous.
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 9:51 AM
All I'm saying, is anytime you have a story with a big threat and an army of henchmen, you're going to have a war style setting. I understand that other stories you listed are not exactly like that, like Civil War, Secret Wars, and what not, but a lot of them ARE about one enemy with an army.

Again, anytime you have a BIG storyline going on that effects the entire line of characters, regardless of which publisher is doing it, you are going to have very "war-ish" kind of feel to it.
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 9:55 AM
And like I mentioned earlier, sure some of the big events lately have featured heroes fighting heroes, but honestly, thats ONE story out of the year.

The entire rest of the year, heroes fight NOTHING but villains. With the only exception being when two character bump into each other that do not agree on something, but they rarely come to any significant blows. So really, if you take all the comics that come out in a year, the amount of stories that have heroes fighting villains GREATLY outweighs the stories with them fighting heroes.

Its not even a contest.
TheGreatone0207 - 6/26/2012, 9:58 AM
How many wars do we need?? Geesh
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 10:01 AM
@ patientzero

I can agree with that. I'm a little burnt out on big events period. I would like one big event every 4 or 5 years or so, that way status quo changes really matter.

the only thing that has really mattered for any length of time in Marvel lately is Wanda's "No More Mutants" shinanigans. Nothing else really sticks. Although it looks like AvX will end with mutants coming back
JustDame - 6/26/2012, 10:11 AM
Did you guys read the Marvel Point One comic where they previewed the years stories? There was one where Hawkeye and Spider-Man were running away from a schit load of Ultrons in a post-apocalyptic NYC. It was drawn by Bryan Hitch. No doubt in my mind that this is what they're teasing.
CorndogBurglar - 6/26/2012, 10:14 AM
@ justdame

yeah i agree. The free comic on Free Comic Book Day had a dead Space Knight crash down to earth with Ultron's AI inside its head that was left over from Annihilation: Conquest. His AI escaped, which is going to be the beginning of the Ultron War.
figuresmaniac - 6/26/2012, 10:23 AM
Don't like a war story? Go read Archie then....
OdinsBeard - 6/26/2012, 11:58 AM
i've got a hero vs hero battle for you! just wait in a few weeks DC is going to start releasing these....

my MS paint skills aren't the best haha! but this would be dope!
MrsTonyStark0507 - 6/26/2012, 12:56 PM
Dope? Yeah, cause we haven't already seen Avengers vs JLA. Oh, wait, yes we have.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

It was pretty "dope" though. Lol.
OdinsBeard - 6/26/2012, 2:02 PM
strak0507@ wasn't the first crossover, won't be the last. no doubt today's writers could do a better job. plus it would probably bring in more readers than any reboot or event ever could. it's all about selling to a new audience.
I like change....if done well..I'm still waiting...
niknik - 6/27/2012, 9:41 AM
Which is basically the same as me not giving a $hit about DC since the New52 $hit all over longtime readers and sent us packing.
