Family Guy and American Dad creator Seth McFarlane took the North American box office by storm this weekend as his big screen directorial debut Ted (which stars him, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis) took an impressive $52.5 million for the weekend. Marvel's The Avengers has finally dropped out of the Top 10, but its current domestic cume sits at just under $607 million, while it has made an amazing $1.448 billion worldwide. Pixar's Brave has taken $132.2 million in the US (it has yet to open in the majority of international territories) as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter slipped down the charts with an unimpressive $6.2 million this weekend, taking its domestic cume to a forgettable $29.2 million. It hasn't fared much better overseas with a worldwide total of only $46.034 million. Prometheus is still doing quite well for an R-Rated blockbuster as its domestic total has now risen to $118.4, making a worldwide cume of $284.7 million. Finally, Snow White and the Huntsman has now amassed $334 worldwide million ($145.7 domestic). For updates on The Amazing Spider-Man click HERE and click HERE for Men in Black 3 details.

Typo on the 1.448 *billion Avengers has raked in. Happy Ted pulled in a very respectable number for the weekend, not too shabby for a stoned, horny overaged teddy bear.

Good for Seth McFarlane. He is a funny and talented dude. Hope he makes more movies.
Mercwitham0uth - 7/1/2012, 5:44 PM
@LoudNoises
Hopefully his next movie will be the Family Guy film that has been in the works for years.

Good on Seth though, love all his shows.

Box office, Grif.

Ted looks hilarious. Gonna watch as soon as it arrives here. Seth MacFarlane has the kind of humor this [frick]in' PC world needs.
SUPERMAN2013 - 7/1/2012, 5:54 PM

CMKOFAN - 7/1/2012, 6:26 PM
why does this site always have this non-comic news on the front page? i've been seeing this more often than before, i think it's time for me to never come back here.

@PatientZero
Seth McFarland is simply executive producer (if I'm not mistaken) on Clevland Show. He's not a writer or contributing voice talent (unless it's a cross-over episode)

Saw Ted today. It is funny! And Seth McFarlane can definitely make movies if his TV shows go off the air.
X79 - 7/1/2012, 7:15 PM
Ted was pretty funny. Ryan Reynolds has a cameo has Patrick Warburtons lover, also Sam Jones from Flash Gordon in the 80's has a good amount of screen time. The cast was good, alot of people from family guy showed up on screen (of course). Kept waiting for Seth Green to show up at some point, kind of glad he didn't.
BenderDickCumPatch - 7/1/2012, 7:18 PM
Wanna see Ted soon :3
JoeMomma29 - 7/1/2012, 7:21 PM

I actually haven't seen a single trailer with any movie out (I have seen EVERY FILM) or TV spot for Ted and yet it takes the lead...
bestintheworld - 7/1/2012, 8:59 PM
I saw Ted earlier today. Absolutely hysterical, funniest movie I've seen since the first hangover.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/1/2012, 9:11 PM

FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 7/2/2012, 12:16 AM
I thought it was pretty funny.
Mysterion - 7/2/2012, 4:13 AM
saw Ted on friday night, and I cant remember the last time I heard the audience laughing so hard...they laughed so hard that it was hard to hear the next lines of the movie.
Mysterion - 7/2/2012, 4:20 AM
@Owlman: You know Ted was pretty much everything that they advertised in commercials & trailers, what type of movie you thought you were walking into?
marvel72 - 7/2/2012, 5:30 AM
love family guy,looking forward to seeing ted.
marantaz - 7/2/2012, 10:08 AM
Saw Ted, loved it, still have the offensive jokes running through my head (the boston girls having orgasms impersonation by Ted is priceless!), damn funny! Seth's direction left something to be desired, though, but who cares when you're laughing! And the Ryan Reynolds cameo after DC announced the GL is a homosexual was absolutely perfect. There were a couple of DC CBM shots from McFarlane... so yeah, it's kind of appropriate to mention this film on this site. Ted is Howard the Duck in a more relatable form.
