Okay, I want to be the first to jump on the Captain Marvel for Avengers bandwagon! Anyone want to come with?
Triptheorist - 7/19/2012, 4:28 PM
The art and new design makes me cringe a little.
StarkAnthony - 7/19/2012, 4:33 PM
Its just the hair. Everything is cool but the hair
brewtownpsych - 7/19/2012, 4:34 PM
passed it over the other day, maybe i'll pick it up. dropped avenging spider-man a while ago, that was getting old.
Moakynubs - 7/19/2012, 4:38 PM
Well, I saw a few issues in the comic book store today... Not really my character. BRING ON HAWKEYE!
DrDoom - 7/19/2012, 4:46 PM
I prefer the name Ms. Marvel, and her old outfit. Still want Carol for the MCU.
LoudLon - 7/19/2012, 4:46 PM
It was well written but the art is pure shit. It looks like a cross between the old Aeon Flux MTV cartoon and, well, shit.

I'll keep reading for now, but I won't bother looking at the pictures.
patriautism - 7/19/2012, 4:58 PM
I managed to read my coworkers copy, it was fan freaking tastic..
I say Carol should get her own movie now, and Yvonne Strahovski for Carol Danvers!

worldbreaker - 7/19/2012, 4:59 PM
she needs her own movie leading into avengers 2. as ms marvel and captain marvel. even though her being called "captain" makes no sense to me. carol danvers was a full-bird colonel
JohnTom88 - 7/19/2012, 5:04 PM
Ms Marvel and Wonder Woman movies, do them

DrDoom - 7/19/2012, 5:06 PM
Carol Danvers is a Major, so calling her Captain Marvel makes no sense.

The movie should just be Ms. Marvel, with either Malin Akerman or Yvonne Strahovski in the lead role.

Also, this costume please:

What do they mean by sold out? I went to my comic book store today and the shelf was still full with first prints?
CBArtist - 7/19/2012, 5:19 PM
@xNightwingx

It means that all the copies that Marvel initially printed were sold. In other words, the distributors sold them all to the comic shops. Personally, I would like to know the actual number of copies that were distributed.
BackwardGalaxy - 7/19/2012, 5:20 PM
They're sold out to the shops.
TheAbomination - 7/19/2012, 5:27 PM
Hmmmm methinks a film adaptation is needed...
PantherX - 7/19/2012, 5:31 PM
I maaay just buy it then. Only the art itself has left me on the fence about it, but if its a good read then its a good read.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/19/2012, 5:36 PM
Good thing I ordered it today from tfaw.
mmusicman - 7/19/2012, 5:47 PM
If they can bring back Bucky, then they can bring back Mar-Vell, too. Revert Danvers back to Ms. Marvel...how hard is that?
mrHJK - 7/19/2012, 6:13 PM
I'm still not sure about a Capt./Ms. Marvel movie, but I could see them including Carol Danvers in a SHIELD movie or whatever, and then she becomes Marvel in Avengers 3 (Kree vs. Skrull maybe?).
AlSimmons - 7/19/2012, 6:19 PM
It looks like her right boob is lactating in that Avenging Spider-man cover lol.
marvel72 - 7/19/2012, 6:44 PM
fingers crossed that ms.marvel is in the avengers 2 or the avengers 3,she got to be in at least one.
mgeoff88 - 7/19/2012, 7:09 PM
That's awesome. I feel like checking this out myself.

Marvel Studios needs to do a Ms. Marvel movie. Get some great writers on board, and it would kick so much ass.

@patriautism Yvonne Strahovski is my top choice for the role. I can't think of any other actress that is more perfect for Ms. Marvel.

@Intruder That's Carol saying "that was a huge mistake."
JeffG - 7/19/2012, 7:26 PM
The art on the cover is totally different from the comic itself. It was one of the better 1st issues I've read. Not to spoil but her costume has some STARKTECH in it.
CorndogBurglar - 7/19/2012, 7:40 PM
You guys complaining about the "Captain" part of her name do realize that she called herself Ms. Marvel in homage to Captain Marvel to begin with, right?

Also, she hasnt been in the military in forever. Maybe you guys should actually read the issue and see exactly why she changed her name before you make complaints.

Oh wait.....I forgot where I am for a minute there.
pepe - 7/19/2012, 11:31 PM
I liked her old classic better!!!!
inky - 7/20/2012, 1:21 AM
only thing is does this mean marvel is removing warbird?
or taming warbirds abilities, either is bad realy.
or is this the daughter of carol danvers thus a mother daughter team up some time in the future:)
Ichaos - 7/20/2012, 2:23 AM
Shazam!
CorndogBurglar - 7/20/2012, 3:10 AM
@ inky

Its carol danvers in the present, and if anything she's more powerful. Not tamed.
evyllsummer - 7/20/2012, 4:57 AM
Eh, I'm all for calling her Captain Marvel (had one in the 80s complete with a fro), I don't really care one way or the other, but the Warbird/Ms Marvel outfit is simply sublime and total win, so I want that one back. That is all.
comicb00kguy - 7/20/2012, 6:23 AM
Second prints don't mean what they used to. Marvel is well known to hold down printing of first-print stories of key books like #1's , then do a second print when the first run amazingly sells out (and that does mean that all comics were sold to comic shops and other distributors, not that every copy has been sold to a collector or reader).
nld3 - 7/20/2012, 12:32 PM
Where's the mask. Oh that's right can't have that so there's a way out for the movie version because masks are silly in movie versions. Another Disney move I wonder?
