Whats old is new again. See Jim Starlins run on Captain Marvel #26 thru #33. Thanos with the Cosmic Cube vs. The Avengers and Mar-Vell.
GUNSMITH - 7/24/2012, 9:29 AM
THE CUBE IS PROLLY FILLED WITH THE NEW ENERGY CALLED "BAD-ASSIUM"
ksommer - 7/24/2012, 9:29 AM
Interesting... They have included everyone in this comic that could be in Avengers 2. I think if they went with this as the story, it wouldn't be received well. We just saw Loki get the cube.

That's some awesome stuff.

"Who Needs An Infinity Gauntlet?"
Apparently Thanos, if he wants to get into Death's pants.

Looks awesome!!!
JredTheRed - 7/24/2012, 9:49 AM
hmm a cosmic cube made by the us government. havent they realized yet that if they make stuff that powerful that someone like thanos will try and use it for domination or destruction. stop doing it people.
plasticman - 7/24/2012, 9:51 AM
Thanos, that's who, Intruder.
plasticman - 7/24/2012, 9:51 AM
And it will be great...especially with GOTG along for the ride.
OdinsBeard - 7/24/2012, 9:54 AM
hmm is this foreshadowing that the IG wont be in the movie? are they giving the cube the proverbial "push"? (to borrow a pro wrestling term)
comicb00kguy - 7/24/2012, 10:01 AM
niknik: Which is a great excuse to pull out those classic issues. As if any excuse is needed to enjoy Starlin's work.

I got te impact phrase but comparing the cube to the gauntlet with all 6 gems is ridiculous.

Btw bagley's art sucks.
inky - 7/24/2012, 10:13 AM
well may be thanos has finaly lost his mind and has revealed himself as a true square:)
RAWRG - 7/24/2012, 10:15 AM
can't wait to see GOTG and Thanos on the big screen!
Giraffehead - 7/24/2012, 10:22 AM
@Fogs,

The statement is implying that you don't need the infinity gauntlet to wipe out half the life in the universe. Not that the two are equal in power.

I think Thanos can do plenty of damage here, and that is the point.

And I'm kinda digging the art. Though I have no idea what the rest of his stuff looks like.
DanteSparda - 7/24/2012, 10:25 AM
I really need an Infinity Gauntlet! That question was insensitive.
Dedpool - 7/24/2012, 10:28 AM
Love me some Thanos, love me some Cosmic Cube (Hey lets make the mcguffin from Avengers relvenat in comics again) and love me some Guardians of the Galaxy, but do they explain how Starlord is alive again? Or Drax, or Gamora?
OdinsBeard - 7/24/2012, 10:45 AM
Intruder@ i would also accept a sort of "de-powering" of the IG. it would still be the most powerful thing there is but maybe have some more loopholes that allow our heroes to win. unless i'm mistaken they changed a few things about the cube, no? isn't it supposed to have the power to change reality?

but i get where you're coming from. we'll need Avengers, GOTG, Nova, and Doctor Strange for the IG!

And so it continues...Disney continues to steer the direction of the Marvel Universe
Shadow101 - 7/24/2012, 10:56 AM
Yes. Bendis is writing! Great choice!

i left a cosmic brick in my pants reading these
Fogs - 7/24/2012, 1:06 PM
@Giraffehead - hhmmm, yeah. Thinking that way it makes sense. Cheers!

And Bagley still sucks! heheh
inky - 7/24/2012, 2:07 PM
the guardians of the galaxy will no doubt have help with the thanos problem, would be nice to see the silver surfer give thanos a good thwacking for old times:)
RexDartEskimoSpy - 7/24/2012, 6:01 PM
So, is this series in continuity, or not? Like it matters... Last time I saw Thanos he was hanging out with Death and that little fairy.

Mark Bagley's just like JR Jr: nice composition, butt fugly line work, and - most important - fast. They put high value on turnaround time at Marvel.
