They can't kill off Spider-Man can they?
ThreeBigTacos - 7/26/2012, 8:57 AM
If I had a dime for every time Spider-Man either died or came close to dying...
dellamorte1872 - 7/26/2012, 8:59 AM
they can boost sales with a quick SHOCKING DEATH i highly doubt if PP did die that he would STAY dead. look at the medium we're talking about
CaptainObvious - 7/26/2012, 9:01 AM
Spider-Man is Marvel's most popular and iconic character. They wouldn't dare killing him off. Even if it was for a few months.
dellamorte1872 - 7/26/2012, 9:01 AM
DEATHS are for newbs to pick up the book. hear what happened get intrigued for the out-come. thats all! comics stopped being seriously SHOCKING a long time ago
ATrueHero1987 - 7/26/2012, 9:01 AM
I just got my copy of issue #8 today, ish is getting real serious. I don't think the X-Men are going to win this.(I want them to though)
captainbeta - 7/26/2012, 9:02 AM
I am getting sick and tired of Thor getting the crap kicked out of him. We are talking Thor, one of the most powerful and experienced fighters in the Marvel Universe. For Thor's sake let him cut lose on the Phoenix 5 (4) soon to be 3. This sucks!!!1
TheActionAce - 7/26/2012, 9:02 AM
dosent spidey always come close to death

like in every damn event or story
ksommer - 7/26/2012, 9:05 AM
@MrEko maybe that'll shut people up about Spidey being in Avengers 2... Doubt it though. :)
Ryan - 7/26/2012, 9:06 AM
I bet Colossus gets depowered in this one. Magik in the next one, leaving Scott and Emma to battle it out for Phoenix Supreme.
TheActionAce - 7/26/2012, 9:07 AM
and wtf
why is Thor a punching bag
like come on he is THOR!!!

let the guy kick a few asses and wipe out
two or three of the phoenix 5

It happens so often that it is ridiculous and dosent help to prove how powerful said character has become, it is such a cheap tactic and barely helps the story or prove how big a threat the opponent is

toco89 - 7/26/2012, 9:08 AM
Spidey always gets such a raw deal.
Intothepoop - 7/26/2012, 9:13 AM
i feel like i read that spider-man is going die a couple times a year in marvel events.
Tymminator - 7/26/2012, 9:19 AM
I know they are super amped up, but I am SOOOO sick of writers proving a point how tough someone is by jobbing out Thor.
Tymminator - 7/26/2012, 9:20 AM
LOL, just saw those other comments pop up. Glad I ain't alone.
BlackWarrior - 7/26/2012, 9:21 AM
Yes and Miles will take over in 616 as well!

Naw all kidding aside, I don't think he will die, just that it seems he will be the last one standing and will have some clever way of getting out of this or something will happen just as he is about to die. Amazing Spider-man is still in theaters after all.
ClarkFarley2012 - 7/26/2012, 9:22 AM
@ Captainbeta..thank you!! This man can beat 90-95% of the Marvel Universe. I get sick of Marvel dumbing him down.
lntrn8 - 7/26/2012, 9:22 AM
haven't kept up . . . but I will buy graphic novel for sure. Loved x-men as underdogs all these years, now it seems the P5 is totally corrupted. Hope they are redeemed.
plasticman - 7/26/2012, 9:24 AM
RAH! RAH! Colossus is the man, if he can't do it, no one can!

I love Colossus but I'm not loving this direction, or those eyes on the cover. Go back to eye drawing school.
GUNSMITH - 7/26/2012, 9:25 AM
HE NEEDS CAPTAIN UNIVERSE POWER
ralfinader - 7/26/2012, 9:29 AM
They are turning Thor into the Superman of Justice League season 1. Look how tough villian A, B, or C is, they beat up Thor!
GLprime2814 - 7/26/2012, 9:37 AM
Heres scenario
1 it's only a cover.
2) colossus wins kills SM bit then feels bad so uses Phoenix force to bring him back, and loses power.
3)SM fights to the edge of death like he always does and right before colossus finishes him avengers assemble around colossus and take him out.
4)??
IIIAdamantiumIII - 7/26/2012, 9:38 AM
omg i feel bad for spidey's butthole
ScottishSpider86 - 7/26/2012, 9:38 AM
Peter Parker has never died in the 616 comics. He has been buried alive and presumed dead and he has retired but he has never been dead dead (even comic book dead) Marvel love to tease about killing him off but I don't think they'll ever do it.
And Thor has been very badly represented since he lost the Odin Force, although Odin Force Thor was a wee bit over the top imo
GLprime2814 - 7/26/2012, 9:39 AM
It's not that Thor is week or depowered, it's that the phoenix 5 a super powerfull.
If you read the issue with Namor it takes EVERY avenger to stop him.
KaneVonDoom - 7/26/2012, 9:42 AM
They need Thor to hit Colossus so damn hard that the metal literally breaks and twists from his skin.
hush - 7/26/2012, 9:44 AM
I'm really bored of seeing Thors butt handed to him.

But that grumble aside, this is a great read.
JayRich001 - 7/26/2012, 9:47 AM
I cant wait for AvX to wrap up. I want to see this MarvelNOW! stuff. I kinda think the storry is dragging a bit to long. Typical Bendis. I love that guy but some of the stories seem to drag on forever.
DanteSparda - 7/26/2012, 10:04 AM
Looks cool, let's see what else they got!

@rym

Not in House of M, tought Spidey came close to insanity which is way cooler.
NovaTroy - 7/26/2012, 10:10 AM
If you look at the cover for the AVX #9, Spidey is there so if Marvel is going to kill him,(which I doubt) it won't be in this issue.
thunderforce - 7/26/2012, 10:12 AM
I would think Thor should be able to beat one fifth of the Phoenix , it is not like fire will hurt him .
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/26/2012, 10:25 AM
Spiderman is one of the worlds greatest super heroes, he's apart of the big 3 meaning the three most popular super heroes of all time.

1.Superman

2.Spiderman

3.Batman
TheActionAce - 7/26/2012, 10:27 AM
@DanteSparda

true true, that was way cooler

but you have to admit, they keep on teasing his death, and deaths in comics are just cheap and have no meaning or point

so why bother with all the teasing of Marvels most iconic character
TheAcidSkull - 7/26/2012, 10:30 AM
spider-man is not dying, chill out people
Dumegg - 7/26/2012, 10:32 AM
This is total crap. Thor would smash those two jerk offs.
dellamorte1872 - 7/26/2012, 10:33 AM
i'll concede SUPES is #1 but Spidey is #3 under Batman. COUNTER CULTURE knows what "spider-sense" is its in jokes but....EVERYONE knows the Joker. BATS gets 2 because people know his rogues almost better than him. counterculture only really recognizes Venom
dellamorte1872 - 7/26/2012, 10:35 AM
#1 S
#2 B
#3 SM
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/26/2012, 10:37 AM
He shouldn't die
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/26/2012, 10:39 AM
Batman and spiderman are tied but I would give Spidey the edge because he has more worldwide recognition, SM3 is still #1 at the international box office against TDK and any other CBM.
SpideyQuad - 7/26/2012, 10:42 AM
@dellamorte1872 -

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it by all means, but Spiderman is number 1 in my book.

And I'll also wager I've probably been reading comics easily 5 times longer than you have. Unless you started in 1966
