Mickey Rourke Officially Enters Talks For SIN CITY 2; Michael Madsen Unsure Of Return

Michael Madsen (who played 'Bob' in 2005's Sin City) reveals that reports he will return to star in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For are premature, while it has been confirmed that Mickey Rourke is now in talks to reprise the role of 'Marv'.

"Well that’s kind of a mystery because there's a whole bunch of stuff all over the internet that I’m doing a sequel and I certainly didn’t put that stuff on there, so I don’t know who did," Michael Madsen - who played a detective in the 2005 film - told MTV News in a recent interview. "But, wherever that came from, whoever generated that information, must be thinking that I’m doing that — but I can’t seem to get an answer out of anybody." He goes on to say that he's failed to get a straight answer from either director Robert Rodriquez or the producer of Sin City, Harvey Weinstein (who apparently will NOT produce A Dame To Kill For.)

However, despite his confusion about whether or not he will be brought back in the long-talked about sequel, the actor who originally auditioned for the role of 'Marv' revealed that he's definitely interested if they ask him. "Well, sure. I thought the first one was pretty good. I mean, I kind of got in that first one by default. And Bob survives, so you’d figure that he’s gonna make it, right? You’d figure that I’d show up in part two. So if you could get an answer for me, I’d really appreciate it, cause I can’t find out. Of course, I’d like to be a part of it." Talking of 'Marv', Deadline reports that Mickey Rourke has now officially in negotiations to return as the character in the Frank Miller adaptation.

Michael Madsen said what?! "Well that’s kind of a mystery because there's a whole bunch of stuff all over the internet that I’m doing a sequel and I certainly didn’t put that stuff on there, so I don’t know who did."

Let me refresh Michael Madsen's memory. smashinginterviews.com
Michael Madsen a few months ago said this, "I’m doing the sequel to Sin City. That would be Sin City 2. I’m going to Ft. Worth, Texas, and there is supposed to be some sort of a symposium or some Sin City panel where we’re going to talk about the film. I’m looking forward to that, too."

Shortly after that interview there was an announcement for Sin City 2. Wonder what happened?

marv will be back, seeing as though one of the confirmed stories has a very important scene involving the character.

is this movie due out next year because on paper 2013 could be a better year for comic book movies than 2012.

2012

-the avengers 4/5
-the dark knight rises 3/5
-the amazing spider-man 3/5
-ghost rider spirit of vengeance 1/5
-men in black 3 2/5
-dredd ?/?

2013

-iron man 3
-thor the dark world
-man of steel
-the wolverine
-kick ass 2
-sin city 2
-noah

there is probably more graphic novel/comic book movies coming out next year that i haven't mentioned.

I hope they get a bigger budget to work with. The first had a lot of scenes where it all was a bit too fake. This can be done better.

@marvel72
Mine comes out different.
Avengers 5/5 Why? Pure Entertainment! It beats major theme park rides in the fun factor.

TDKR 5/5 Not that fun but well done! Quality on a level not seen in CBMs.

Amazing Spider-Man 2/5 Was like a 90's Spidey cartoon. C.Thomas Howell just happens to be in a crane on a building at night to save Spidey. The film had too many scenes like that. You know the Lizards out there but he never seems like a villain.
The film was written by Raimi's guys and they keep writing parallel stories that don't fit.
Just another CBM. And just another Spider-Man film.

Michael Madsen was hands down the WORST part of Sin City. I mean he was rancid. He was the only one that didn't seem to "get it". He was basically pissing on his role and pissing on the film. It is impossible to not cringe while watching his scene. DO NOT BRING HIM BACK!

@ darkmetal

that's cool if you like them that much,i personally found faults with the avengers, the dark knight rises & the amazing spider-man.

no film is perfect but the dark knight rises & the amazing spider-man both had good & bad moments for me.

Nice now get Clive Owen under a lot of make up to change his face since this takes place before the first movie.

Why is Michael Madsen unsure of return...? He ain't doing nothing.

Michael Madsen PLAYS THE SAME ROLE EVERY FILM HE IS IN, HE IS A B-LIST ACTOR WHO OWES MOST OF HIS CREDIT TO MR QT
BRandom - 8/7/2012, 10:32 AM
No Rourke, No Marv!! Sorry, but that's one of my top five "perfect casting" calls.

In no particular order..

1) RDJ- Stark
2) Rourke- Marv
3) J.K. Simmons- Triple J
4) Jackie Earle Haley- Rorschach
5) Patrick Stewart- Prof. X

Honorable mention would go to Michael Fassebender as Magneto...Granted he may not look the part, but damn he did a great job with that role!

@Jacksovegalll-While Sin City is good, it can't hold the Avengers jock strap in the CBM category. The movie going public proved that. It comes down to a matter of taste, in your opinion you enjoyed SinCity more than most of the general public. I enjoyed both.but feel the Avengers is the better CBM. Different folks, different strokes I guess.
