The Merc with a Mouth will be getting a new #1 series this November from writers Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan, as well as artist Tony Moore (best known for his work on The Walking Dead and Venom). Thanks to Newsarama, we have a first look at the following variant cover by Chris Bachalo. When the series was revealed last week, Duggan had this to say. "I would say, though, if you're a fan of a mentally diminished Deadpool, your hopes will be met and your expectations rewarded. I think we wanted with the first issue to make a new Deadpool comic that a Deadpool fan will really enjoy and want to come back for the second issue. The other side there, though, is that we know this is a new #1 by guys that haven't done Deadpool yet, and we're hoping to pick up new fans who will buy the first issue and say, "Oh, this is what Deadpool is? I'm sticking around." I think that's a balancing act that we did a pretty good job of. I think we made a fun comic that any Deadpool fan will recognize as a new chapter in Deadpool's publishing history."

Where is the cat shouting Godzilla? And Abraham Lincoln is with or against Deadpool?

Anyway nice cover, liked more than the other, also in here it looks like Deadpool will be using machetes again, I prefer those anyday over the katanas.

The beginning storyline is Dead Presidents. Sounds a bit goofy, but they'll make it work. Especially since it's Deadpool. I'm interested to see what Posehn will bring to him. The humor is there for sure.
MisterNiceGuy - 8/14/2012, 10:45 AM
give him an HBO series or some shit. please
ZombieOverEasy - 8/14/2012, 10:45 AM
So is Deadpool fighting against or with all the Presidents?
RedandBlue - 8/14/2012, 10:49 AM
It looks as if He's going at George Washington, lol, so I think they're zombies perhaps.

And what MisterNiceGuy said. That'd be badass.

Bachalo is the man! He should be working on this series. His work would suit it so very well.
RedandBlue - 8/14/2012, 11:04 AM
Yeah, the art does fit well, but Opena's art for DP is also amazing.
bane187 - 8/14/2012, 11:07 AM

bachalo's artwork is a classic case of love it or hate it,personally i don't mind it.i've seen alot worse like the cover artist of ff 1.
BizarroGrif - 8/14/2012, 1:30 PM
I'm with you MisterNiceGuy. HBO style series seems the only logical way of gettin the scabby bastard on screen.
I think a movie would be great but they wouldn't have the balls to push the bounderies and what use is a watered-down Deadpool? (was there a pun in there somewhere? Water? Pool? I dunno, all the pieces are there. Make of it what you will)
Hazmat103 - 8/14/2012, 2:10 PM
looks good.
MisterNiceGuy - 8/14/2012, 3:18 PM
@BizarroGrif, for real. since we cant win with a decent deadpool movie bc lets face it, they would dumb it down or pull another barackapool. a miniseries on HBO would be sick. doesnt even have to be long or last for many seasons. as long as its done right. i can see them going with the special effects they used in Spartacus (the 300/gay porn show)

Someone needs to write a Deadpool story where he mentions his "creator" & give a name like "Bob Diefeld" or something & have DP mercilessly make fun of & insult that guy & eventually brutally kill him at the end of the book.

How fun would it be to see Deadpool kill Rob Liefeld? It would be priceless.
laughterman26 - 8/14/2012, 5:46 PM
i like this one alot more. and what he said^^^^^
ChubbyDeadpool - 8/14/2012, 8:40 PM
Still not liking the costume changes. The skater pads and X-Games boots gotta go. I guess when you have the artist from Walking Dead on staff, it only makes sense to have a zombie story line to begin with.
thalidomide - 8/14/2012, 10:21 PM
Oh yes!
HBOMB83 - 8/15/2012, 3:22 AM
