Thanks to Just Jared, we have the following photos from the set of Carrie in Toronto, Canada. As you can see, they seem to feature a before and after of the first official still released earlier this week which saw Chloe Moretz covered in blood in a recreation of that iconic scene. Click HERE to check it out if you missed it. Sissy Spacek (the star of the original 1976 movie) has also been spotted on set, leading to speculation that she will be making a cameo appearance. As for why exactly Moretz - who should start work on Jeff Waldow's Kick-Ass next month - is seemingly sporting a bald cap, perhaps the actress donned a wig for these bloody scenes? Sound off with your thoughts and theories below.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

STARRING:

Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie White
Julianne Moore as Margaret White
Judy Greer as Miss Desjardin
Gabriella Wilde as Sue Snell
Alex Russell as Billy Nolan
Cynthia Preston as Eleanor Snell
Ansel Elgort as Tommy Ross
Max Topplin as Jackie Talbott
Kim Roberts as Ms. Arlene Walsh

RELEASE DATE: March 15th, 2013

Drewbee87 - 8/26/2012, 3:24 AM
I'm I the only one thinking "WTF?" @ the third pic? lol Why does she look like a fun mirror reflection?
CherryBomb - 8/26/2012, 3:48 AM
Chloe Moretz is sooooo pretty.
And she's very talented.

She's really one of those child actresses that will stick around.
TheOneSuperMan - 8/26/2012, 3:58 AM
@Drewbee87 .. No its not just you, her arms look extremely long ! Quite odd looking.
staypuffed - 8/26/2012, 4:11 AM
I'm digging this - the pics released a few days ago were pretty cool :) Although I can't stand Julianne Moore.
TheSoulEater - 8/26/2012, 4:42 AM
She'll be fetching when she's of age

"Comicbookmovie" dot com?
JonathaNisMagnuM - 8/26/2012, 7:08 AM
@Maia87 Yes, this is a site based on Movies thatare based on ComicBooks, but generally now it's a website that follows/covers anything with a fandom or cult following. & "Carrie" was a Stephen King book, that turned into a popular movie many recognize & is a staple in the horror movie genre, its had a sequel(although it was crappy), a TV Remake, & finally THIS. So generally, its considered a franchise. It's what Hollywood does these days.

& LOL @Slaine's comment above
Spidey31 - 8/26/2012, 7:49 AM
Ehh she's kinda fat, still kinda pretty I guess
TheMaster - 8/26/2012, 8:10 AM
Whilst she is too young maybe for some of the demands of the role, she actually is - I think - exactly the age Carrie should be in the book. She is far too pretty however...
CherryBomb - 8/26/2012, 8:23 AM
I think I would've preferred Hailee Steinfelf for the role

But Chloe is still going to do it justice (:
CherryBomb - 8/26/2012, 8:24 AM

BUT, I think Chloe Moretz is one of the very few young actresses in Hollywood that would be willing to do some of the tough scenes required of her, like in Kick-Ass with all the blood and swearing and action and even Hick, where she's raped.
HAQ - 8/26/2012, 8:43 AM
She's a big girl now...
Knightstalker - 8/26/2012, 8:59 AM
So I went to the comic book store and asked the clerk for a "Carrie" comic book. He just gave me a funny look. Hmmm......
lokibane2012 - 8/26/2012, 9:20 AM
@r1s1ng0fth3fall

Fat? Are you [frick]ing kidding me? It's because of cu/nts like you that we can't find a decent chick around without her ribcage sticking out.
SimyJo - 8/26/2012, 9:28 AM
Thats just ridiculous. At her age its just puppy-fat - thats all.

Seconding @r1s1ng0fth3fall's point that the media is too obsessed with 'skinny'.
hope420 - 8/26/2012, 9:43 AM
@Maia87 Also if a celeb is in a CBM then this site promotes every non CBM they are in. haha
DioFoRio - 8/26/2012, 9:53 AM
what lokibane said.
TheMightyQuinn - 8/26/2012, 9:54 AM
Does anyone know who is playing her mom? For me the movie is really about how messed up she was.
Ranger14 - 8/26/2012, 10:20 AM
"plus she's not old enough to do the classic shower scene where Carrie has her first period and the girls throw tampons at her"

*face palm*

Ummm...The average age for a girl to have her first period is 12 or 13.
CharlesTheIncredible - 8/26/2012, 10:23 AM
Shes just adorable. Shes gonna be a great actress. I'm intrigued to see this movie. ANd of course the bald cap is for her bloody wig.
CharlesTheIncredible - 8/26/2012, 10:24 AM
@themightyquinn i think julianne moore is playing the mother. Theres another article about this that shows her in costume
Gary8264 - 8/26/2012, 10:35 AM
I like her, especially as hit girl, but she doesn't have the same strange look that Sissy had. I thin' a perfect cast for the role woulda been the girl from The Orphan.... she was just a lil creepy
Illcommunicatione - 8/26/2012, 10:44 AM
Just hope the first seen in the remakeis the same as the original...
Bark4Soul - 8/26/2012, 11:15 AM
She is getting way hot way quick, bad news bears here. Also she is getting way too big for Hit "Girl", she's going to be Hit-Woman before KickAss 2 ever drops
JorLBola - 8/26/2012, 11:43 AM
Are you sure that she is fifteen?!! :9 just kidding
REDSTORM - 8/26/2012, 11:56 AM
One of the previous articles mentioned that the blood will stain her hair if used too much, so I wouldn't be surprised that they decided to use a wig.
CherryBomb - 8/26/2012, 12:32 PM
It's pissing me off people are calling her fat.
If anything, it's more realistic for her to be that size at her age. You'll find most teenage girls are.

I'd rather her be an average size than stick-thin, which is obvious you're having a 20-something actress playing a 15 year old.
thedarkknight666 - 8/26/2012, 6:41 PM
ant she a little young for prom ?
CVTom - 8/26/2012, 6:44 PM
As much as I like Chloe Moretz, Sissy Spacek will always be the best Carrie.
thedarkknight666 - 8/26/2012, 6:46 PM
ant she too young for this roll god a pg-13 remake of a r rated movie i like here but she is to young
Wulfenmarc - 8/26/2012, 10:30 PM
For the people thinking she is to young for this role..she is 16 years old, closer to the real age for prom than Spacek was. And if shes to young then why the hell did she do Kick Ass when she was like 12 and swore worse than a sailor, played with weapons and stuff like that..and her mother approved of that role.
TheHierophant - 8/27/2012, 1:03 AM
@thedarkknight666: Times were a bit different in 1976. By today's standards, "Carrie" is relatively tame compared to some of the stuff that has come out recently. So, it's possible for them to remain faithful to fans of the original and the book and, yet, maintain the PG-13 rating...
StrangerX - 8/27/2012, 4:53 AM
Chloe Moretz is not fat, but she is waaayyy too young for me, and this movie.

Damn son what happened to Hollywood. Can I get quality R rated movie with some T&A
RedHeadBruno - 8/27/2012, 10:09 AM
They said they want to be more true to the novel then the original film was. I would think this would mean it is still set in the 70's.
