As a part of the currently ongoing "Divided We Fall" storyline, 'Iron Patriot' will make his Ultimate Universe debut in December's Ultimate Comics Ultimates #19. Newsarama revealed the cover by Adi Granov a little earlier today, although there's currently no word on who will don the armour. It's already being speculated that it will be Captain America, and that definitely wouldn't be a bad thing considering the awful costume they currently have him wearing. In the regular Marvel Universe, Norman Osborn (a.k.a. the Green Goblin) wore the suit during his "Dark Reign". Who do you think is behind the mask?

Interesting... though I can't help but think that this is basically just going to be a cheap marketing gimmick to promote Iron Man 3.

@TheFox I guess it is no more different than when they introduce characters into the comics based on movies.

Lizard had a story arc in the Spider-man comic at around the time of TASM, Bane had an arc in Detective Comics and so on.

So yeah do agree is probably being done as interest will be up about the character in and around the movie, but that is all good as long as the story is good.
Thevenominside - 9/10/2012, 3:04 PM
really, apparently disney wants to promote the shit out of this before it hits film.

The crappy Cap costume is not his official costume. He went into hiding, and when he finally came back SHIELD had gone to crap and there was basically no government to hand him a professionally made, "official" uniform. He's wearing one that he obviously put together himself. After the good guys finally win he'll have a regular Ultimate Cap costume again.
WinterSoldier24 - 9/10/2012, 3:15 PM
That'd be cool if Cap donned the armor. I wouldn't mind seeing the super soldier kick some ass while looking all shiny & sexy. The thought kind of makes my toes curl...

;P

The costume is cool but the mask just seems a little weird. I like the look of the head from the movies way more.
redsonjustin - 9/10/2012, 3:25 PM
The helmet looks weird.
OptimusPrimeTime - 9/10/2012, 3:38 PM
The helmet looks like crap! I can't figure out how they landed on that design...it's shit.

It may be cool to see IP making his Ultimate's debut, but in my mind IP will always be worn by Norman Osboun. So, this really is just a cheap gimmick to promote IM3.

Adi Granov is still a BAMF though.

i didn't care for the iron patriot in the regular marvel universe
OdinsBeard - 9/10/2012, 4:00 PM
so... im assuming this will be in line with MCU... inneresting...
OdinsBeard - 9/10/2012, 4:05 PM
OptimusPrime@ i see where you're coming from. but imho since Norman created IP as a tool for propaganda i think it can be more easily transitioned to other characters who also want to use it as a tool/symbol. to me that is the ultimate point of IP. Norman is the Goblin through and through, to me it wasn't Norman under that helmet, it was the green goblin :)
UltimateHunt - 9/10/2012, 4:19 PM
idont like the helmet, i think a good versus Helmet between iron patriot and Dredd will be a good versus.. NAWW DREDD's helmet wins as for the crappiest ever
Bark4Soul - 9/10/2012, 4:56 PM
Maybe Nick Fury or something? Cap? Can't see Thor or anyone else needing the suit
ATrueHero1987 - 9/10/2012, 5:47 PM
I'm surprised the Ultimate line of books is still around...
TheAbomination - 9/10/2012, 6:12 PM
Just in time for election season.
Franshu - 9/10/2012, 6:38 PM
Please let itbe Cap. It'd make all the sense in the world.
LegacyFilms - 9/10/2012, 6:52 PM
Hmmmm wonder who'll wear it...

OdinsBeard - 9/10/2012, 6:53 PM
I don't understand why good guys are being "speculated" as being under the helmet. Isn't IP a public cover for evil doings?

Seems like someone will come along a kick the heroes while they're down.
Temple - 9/10/2012, 7:36 PM
Why is it that all the ultimate version heros act like assholes?
SolidSnake007 - 9/10/2012, 7:45 PM
Looks like Ultron to me.
storyteller - 9/10/2012, 7:54 PM
Iron Patriot was just Norman, but in the Ultimate Universe Reed Richards can be evil and Steve Rogers is a steroid abusing dick.
UniBeam11 - 9/10/2012, 8:44 PM
Can we just please burn the ultimate universe?! No more of this shit, tired of the anal rape of the marvel universe that is the ultimates
SteveRogersSon - 9/10/2012, 8:53 PM
Cool cover; shit comic in a shittier universe
Jefferys - 9/10/2012, 11:32 PM
Rhodey? We are probably getting someone underneath the armour who will appear in Iron Man 3.
goldenavenger77 - 9/11/2012, 1:31 AM
Hasn't it already bee cleared up few months back that it is not Iron Patriot that will appear in Iron Man 3 it's infact just a new War Machine colour scheme?

Great Granov art but I hate that crab fish armor. What happend to the Ultimates I used to know?
DrStampe17 - 9/11/2012, 1:38 AM
probably Obama...
billnye69 - 9/11/2012, 3:51 AM
"Iron Patriot Wants You To Help Rebuild America."

Now when you say America, do you mean the United States or the American Continent?
UniBeam11 - 9/11/2012, 5:12 AM
@goldenavenger
idk what you're talking about, the ultimate universe was never any good. So this seems pretty in keeping with it
Spidex3000 - 9/11/2012, 8:14 AM
Rhodey
