Warner Bros. have announced that Jack The Giant Killer Slayer will now hit theatres three weeks earlier than expected on March 1st, 2013. It was originally set to be released on the 22nd of that month, but has moved up to take Elysium's spot after that (and the RoboCop remake) were pushed back by Sony Pictures. The new title doesn't make a HUGE difference, but it arguably distances it somewhat from the well-known fairy tale. However, it's thought that the studio also consider "Slayer" to be more family-friendly than "Killer". Despite the tepid response to the teaser trailer (which can be viewed below), the film has a great cast which includes the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci.

Jack the Giant Killer Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
