COMICS: Cyclops Finds A New Base And Beast Goes Into Surgery In ALL-NEW X-MEN Sneak Peeks

Cyclops and his Uncanny X-Men set up "The New Xavier School" in a location VERY familiar to fans in a lettered preview of All-New X-Men #3, while Beast goes into surgery and Scott Summers goes undercover in a first look at All-New X-Men #5! Check it out.

You know, it's almost like Cyclops is deliberately trying to piss off Wolverine! As you can see from the lettered preview of All-New X-Men #3, the new base of the Uncanny X-Men is the Weapon X facility where James Howlett/Logan actually became Wolverine. Oh, and it's name? "The New Xavier School". The other pages are from All-New X-Men #5 and they depict a critically ill Beast in surgery and Cyclops going undercover to recruit yet another mutant to his revolution!

I LOVE it! Ready for Uncanny X-Men to come back.

SN: I will really miss Cyke's Navy costume.

That art is bananas.

Nomis - How is Wolverine the traitor when it's he who continued Xavier's school, is going of his way to be a better person and teach a new generation all the while forwarding mutant / human relations with his involvement with the Avengers.

Meanwhile, Cyclops went mad and murdered Xavier.

Your logic is banana shaped.
Luis75 - 11/28/2012, 2:36 PM
[frick] off you Cyclops haters and go read your shitty overrated Avengers titles !
marvel72 - 11/28/2012, 2:39 PM
just finished issue 2,this is a very good read.its my favorite marvel team book.

for how long i don't know hickman's the avengers comes out next week.
ShadesAtKnightII - 11/28/2012, 2:54 PM
If you're not behind Cyke, you will be left behind. Get with the times people.
RaleighAntrobus - 11/28/2012, 3:04 PM
Cyclops is still and always will be... my favorite X-Man.
RSDhillon - 11/28/2012, 3:06 PM
Always loved Cyclops over Wolverine. Even as a child, watching the X-Men movies where Wolverine was made out to be the star, I like Cyke the most.
marvel72 - 11/28/2012, 3:21 PM
my favorite x-men

1st wolverine(one comic panel during the dark phoenix saga got me hooked, when wolverine is in the sewer at the end of uncanny x-men 132 classic john byrne.joss whedon payed a nice homage to that classic image in astonishing x-men 15)

2nd colossus(just loved the design of the powerhouse from russia)

3rd cyclops(cool character, will always be the true leader of the x-men)
jimoakley666 - 11/28/2012, 4:03 PM
@Nomis - What? When has Wolverine killed Xavier? And Xavier is as dead as any comic book character who dies. But that's besides the point.

The X-Men has never been about 'us versus them'. That was Magneto's sentiment, not Xaviers. So really, it was Scott who was the traitor. He turned his back on the X-Men's ethos. The X-Men were always about integration with humanity. "Protecting those who fear and hate them".

Maybe you weren't paying attention.
marvel72 - 11/28/2012, 4:22 PM
@ nomis

cheers mate,i get a little emotional when i see that image.

you're the man for posting that.

i've got some of that claremont & byrne run but i'm looking to buy the uncanny x-men omnibus vol 1 its the claremont,cockrum(r.i.p)& byrne run 94-131 plus giant size x-men 1 & annual 3.

the problem being i've seen it on amazon.uk for £325 & amazon.usa for $395(£246).still pretty pricey this time of year.
blackster - 11/28/2012, 4:23 PM
i used to like wolverine the best but marvel made him stale.

i used to not really care about cyclops but his heel turn's one of the best things to happen to the x-men comics in recent history.

i say, [frick] logan. scott's the man right now.
hope420 - 11/28/2012, 4:31 PM
That's some nice art! How come the penciler the inker and the colorist do not get a credit in this article?
Darkhaven - 11/28/2012, 4:33 PM
No this mofo didn't just set up a new "school" in the Weapon X building!

I see where this is going:

-Cyke's base gets discovered, possible fight with Alpha Flight.

-Wolverine flips the [frick] out when he learns what Cyke has done.

-Wolverine, Captain America and everyone else that was in the Weapon program go and kick the ever-loving shit out of Cyclops for being a douche.

-Kid Apocalypse regains his mental faculties, and ganks the Weapon X tech, creating a new Four Horsemen and and army like in Age of Apocalypse.

Also, Nomis? Dope pics bro!
hope420 - 11/28/2012, 4:34 PM
@Nomis Don't forget about when Legion killed Charles by accident and caused the Age of Apocalypse.;)
marvel72 - 11/28/2012, 4:35 PM
@ nomis

legion also killed professor x when he traveled back in time to kill magneto but killed his father instead, hence age of apocalypse.
marvel72 - 11/28/2012, 4:36 PM
@ hope420

you just beat me to it,great minds think a like.
MutantEquality - 11/28/2012, 4:37 PM
@halloweenjack..is that you Stigmartyr? Lol

Cyke is the man. The biggest thing now is I feel the mutants have a chance. When he had the power of Phoenix he tried to save the world. As a normal mutant he can do no less.

If Wolverine had his way, Hope would be dead. Literally.
MutantEquality - 11/28/2012, 4:42 PM

Imagine if Cyclops didn't stop him? Where would the mutant race be now?
XavierLehnsherr - 11/28/2012, 4:43 PM
I'm gonna kill Professor X someday too.
hope420 - 11/28/2012, 5:43 PM
@marvel72 Haha yes we do;)
Xiim - 11/28/2012, 6:03 PM
Okay it really bothers me that Cyclops is continuing to use the X-Men name... discounting whether or not his cause is "correct", with his ends justify the means attitude.... he killed xavier, he lost the right to be an x-man right there

as for Xavier being dead now? well... red skull just carved out the brain from his corpse so yeah... i think he is pretty definitively dead. I also hope they keep it because at this point he is more effective as a symbol. He was a man with a dream of peace, this ideal for mutants to strive towards... if they bring him back it allows too many chances for someone to [frick] that up so yeah I hope they leave him dead this time.

I am really curious to see how the phoenix [frick]ed with people's powers... I figured cyclops had changed to be more like havok(at least like movie havok) due to the cover of next issue... which explains his new helmet design... i really hadnt expected magneto's to shift though....

oh i am also going to say this... seriously? the weapon x facility... as a reader I love this and its a cool way to bring that place back... but when wolverine finally confronts scott and finds that he is based out of a mutant research/torture facility?... hell, he is going to carve out his heart.
cyked - 11/28/2012, 7:00 PM
How is it that people are saying "Cyclops killed Professor X" with a straight face. How is it possible that the documented fact that he was warped and twisted under the influence of Insane Phoenix not even being factored in to this.... like.... CYCLOPS killed the Professor. On his own. That's how people are spitting this out.

Hey... remember when Jean Grey killed off that D'Bari star? Killed 5 billion [with a B] people? Remember how everyone basically just swept that under the rug? Phoenix? Insane? Murder?

It's linda bold when a "Bad Guy" mind controls a good guy and causes the good guy to do all kindsa messed up stuff..... and then folks who KNOW it was because of the bad guy still blames the good guy.

Pretty sure this is not a novel set of circumstances.
GhostKILLERgx7 - 11/28/2012, 7:12 PM
wolverine makes a school to show cyclops he's wrong.
cyclops takes over the place were wolverine was born.omg this is just getting better and better. and all those backing wolverine, the man makes a school for mutants, sides with the avengers and humans...why has no one made a scumbag wolverine meme yet?
MutantEquality - 11/28/2012, 7:17 PM
@GhostKILLERgx7 make the meme. If its good I'll totally post that myself
GhostKILLERgx7 - 11/28/2012, 7:19 PM
@cyked, preach brother!
the man has lead the mutant races for how long. has stood by to fight for the rights of his people. and considering how many people wolverine has killed over the years i don't see how summers gets a bad rap for killing "1" person under the influence of a cosmic force.
ATrueHero1987 - 11/28/2012, 7:23 PM
May I add that even Wolverine admitted that Cyke wasn't really at fault for Prof X death. He said that in AvX: Consequences.
ATrueHero1987 - 11/28/2012, 7:23 PM
In issue #4
GhostKILLERgx7 - 11/28/2012, 7:59 PM

AlThor - 11/28/2012, 9:04 PM
You guys need to stop acting like Cyke killed some sort of saint. Xavier is a twisted [frick]. He got kicked out of the X-men by Cyke cause he was so warped.... It's about as bad as killing Iceman or Beast while under the influence of a crazed cosmic entity.
Xiim - 11/28/2012, 9:17 PM
the main reason why myself and others say cyclops killed xavier and not phoenix did is pretty simple... he hadn't gone dark phoenix yet... up until then he was scott summers granted unlimited power... it will show a side of people they wouldnt normally show. if scott had gone dark phoenix before killing xavier i would say the phoenix did it... since it was before I consider scott responsible for his actions

i am not saying that i disagree with it happening... as a reader i consider the current state of the marvel universe pretty fascinating. also with the confrontation between xavier and scott i felt that the death was earned... they both said their bit and essentially they had radically different ideals now, both feeling the other one had to be taken down in order to stop the other's from coming to pass...

i am not even saying i dislike scott now as a character, and i was a cyclops fan before this, i like the character a lot... this really does feel like where his character has been heading for awhile... but let's not kid ourselves.. he is a villain now
MutantEquality - 11/28/2012, 10:13 PM
Villain huh? Please explain
Xiim - 11/28/2012, 10:57 PM
Okay, to begin with I will say that this is using a black-white view instead of shades of gray... simply because otherwise any well written villain can be argued for being a good guy... that's what makes them a good villain. So this is of course my opinion on the subject

1- First off you have Scott's actions during the AvX, I am going to go ahead and discount the opening argument/battle between Cap and Cyclops because they were both idiots there for the sake of the event. So let's go ahead and start with once Scott gains unlimited power and what he does with it... he tries to make the world a better place. Once he has gained power he changes his mind for what the Phoenix should be used for... originally he wishes for the Phoenix to come and bring back the mutants, however this isn't his first act upon gaining the powers, its something he doesn't even do. Instead his priorities shift to showing that he was right, that mutants aren't evil... he also goes about this in the most public way. Hell, they got the power and could have immediately brought back the mutant population... they could have talked to the avengers, the world leaders and offered their help, they have this power and are willing to help... but no they seized power by saying that they had the power to do this, so they are doing it, and you can't do shit about it. They could have signed contracts with individual countries, you need a desert turned into a rainforest, or aids wiped out? fine sign this mutant rights agreement and allow us to wipe out any sentinels we find on your soil... hell once it became obvious they werent wanted there, which it was obvious it was, they didnt even consider they were in the wrong... the kept changing the planet because its what they felt was right... if they wanted to they could have simply terraformed Mars and taken any mutants they wanted to their new mutant planet.

2- He attacked the woman he loves in order to steal her power. Seriously. People think Hank Pym is bad but this is just horrible, especially as mutants view their powers as a part of who they are.

3- Killing Xavier.... I already posted my thoughts on this previously in the thread.

4- The decision to be the villains. During AvX: Consequences, Cyclops and his team decide to be cast as "villains". While he is in prison, Scott could very well justify his actions because of how things ended up(even though they had nothing to do with his actions in the end). But he was done at that point in prison. However he beckons to Magik and Magneto to break him out and Magneto even says that they are being cast as the villains now. Yes of course they see themselves as doing the right thing, we all do, but they also realize they are being bad people to do it. If Scott had stayed in prison, sure I could have accepted that he was repentant and was a good guy who had [frick]ed up... instead he decides that he still knows what is best for the world and becomes a fugitive terrorist.

5- The jailbreak... Scott breaks out of a prison and not only allows the prisoners to go free... something he didn't need to do because Magik can teleport... she simply could have hopped in, grabbed him, and ported out... no, instead they killed people, sent others to hell, and slashed the warden's face with an X... all while allowing dangerous criminals into the world in order to send a message.
Xiim - 11/28/2012, 11:07 PM
Naturally I would prefer people not responding with "Xiim, you are a stupid fag who doesn't know shit"... I really would like to hear some comments and alternate views on the matter.

That is why I enjoyed the aftermath of this event so much, because of how there is this discourse even among the fans about who was right and who was wrong. I would just prefer to have it without getting hateful... I honestly was shocked to see people selling Cyclops was Right t-shirts because originally I didn't see how anyone could... now I see how people can, its a valid view point, namely "the ends justify the means"... it is simply one I don't agree with.

Personally I am getting an 'XAVIER WAS RIGHT' t-shirt printed:

jimoakley666 - 11/29/2012, 12:32 AM
@Nomis - Did you actually read that issue or just look at the cover? That was a Scrull, and revealed two pages later. Also, that second cover you used was actually Changeling disguised as Xavier.

pepe - 11/29/2012, 3:04 AM
I love the art... A must read!!!!!!!

TEAM CYCLOPS... HE´S ALLWAYS RIGHT. Love how he have changed and is more a soldier in war than a protector...!!!!!!
AlcoholicA - 11/29/2012, 7:12 AM
@Xiim

I'm team Cyclops, as I've exhausted on many articles of this site already, but your opinion is well thought out and respectable.
Xiim - 11/29/2012, 9:07 AM
@AlcoholicA Thanks for the kind remarks, I write a comic blog that has been following NOW! and the lead-up so I have been writing a lot about Scott lately

@HalloweenJack With the entire mutant condition and response being a stand-in for various forms of prejudice, it is understandable that many would come to identify with it. Its a leader who is standing up for the oppressed, why wouldn't they love him? Still it probably isn't that deep for everyone and it also just goes to the fact that where Cyclops is right now is interesting to us... its a good place, story-wise, for him to be because it allows the fans to see him through our own eyes and we all color him differently. So some will without a doubt defend his choices because they either identify or agree with his ideals if not his methods.

DemonicJoker666 - 11/29/2012, 9:42 AM
this is gonna be good
MutantEquality - 11/29/2012, 10:56 AM
@AlcoholicA- we both have buddy and I'm exhausted from it but...hmmm. But he seems like he wants a intelligent arguments so I'll make it quick.

1. Governments don't always want what's right for the people so instead they just tried to Help the People. If They have food, shelter, water and free energy they can finally have the power to do what's right for themselves. Government trickle down effect doesnt always work. We know this.

2. The reason why he went against the White Queen, his love, is becaus in Uncanny Xmen he saw her go insane. She was struggling with her insanity right in front of him. She finally said that she wanted to burn down the world and start over again. That's why he turned on her. That's when all the power went into him.

3. Yep. He did. We see what Xavier did in the past and there is a reason he got kicked out in the first place and Scott and Emma became head master. He turned on Cyke. Everyone turned on Cyke. Force a cosmic powered bing into a corner you're ate gonna get burned. Many many many heroes have done MUCH. Worse. Heard of Scarlett Witch for example?? She's not considered a villain.

4. Deciding to "do what you gotta do regardless of people thinking you're villains" does NOT make you a Villian. As he said, "Protecting a world that hates and fears you? Same as its always been. "

Villian is a strong word.

Freedom Fighter? Revolutionary Leader? Leader of the next evolution of mankind?

Those seem much more appropriate.

Ok. I'm done now for a few articles.
AlcoholicA - 11/29/2012, 12:49 PM
@MutantEQ

Well said as usual
AlcoholicA - 11/29/2012, 12:51 PM
All in all i've grown to be okay with AvX because of the situation that Cyclops is in right now, which is pretty cool and interesting. We all knew he would end up in some kind of situation like this, I just didn't think I would enjoy this much. Just think they could have written his journey there a lot better.
