COMICS: Marvel Reveals Ed McGuinness' Design Variant For SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #1

Ed McGuinness (Avengers: X-Sanction) designed the new suit for Superior Spider-Man, and this variant cover for the first issue includes plenty of his notes on the new features it will have when someone else takes up the mantle in 2013. Check it out!

Not much different than from what we've been seeing. But still looks good, i like McGuinness and his rounded bulk look, worked for the Hulk series for sure. But, dont think very highly of this series in general.

McG needs to get out of Marvel and do creator owned stuff or something different. Hes kinda spinning his wheels and just doing the same kinda stuff over and over. Its getting boring.

Jeezus, that's one terrible drawing... Look at his back! Look at his legs! And look at pretty much teh whole drawing! Anatomy? Ed McGuiness doesnt knw about that, it seems.

If you're looking for realism and anatomy go look at the artwork of Alex Ross or Joe Jusko. McGuinness' stuff is for the kid in all of us. He draws his characters larger than life (which, for comics, is a vry good thing). I'm immediately drawn to his artwork. From Deadpool to Superman to Hulk and everything in between; it's all awesome.

I actually really like this costume and character changeup. It hasn't really been done in 616 in a while with Spidey and looks pretty interesting. We all know Peter will return but the storyline has been pretty good so far in my opinion.

I think the whole "superior" thing (stronger, faster, smarter) is just the new Spidey's take on things. His awful awful take. I guess we should wait and see how things play out but from what I can tell this is really stupid

Only McGuiness art I can dig is when he drws Hulk. For that, his bulky, cartoonish style works. Other than that, not so much

Maybe on a saturday morning cartoon

I hate this. I mean okay fine you replace Peter Parker, not happy with it, but okay. But this whole superior [frick]ing bullshit, being better, stronger, smarter, [frick] that. How do you go about disrespecting one of the greatest superheroes of all time like that. I mean if you want to make hie edger or something I hear there is scarlet spider for that, and the crappy Venom comics. This is like their spitting on his memory. [frick] this wannabe

I just read the spoilers for issue 700. I haven't been this pissed off at Marvel since One More Day. This truly gives that nonsense a run for its money. Supposedly, Dan Slott has been building up to this for the last 100 issues. I don't care if you spent 10 years working on this story, it is still awful. I'm not going to spoil the ending here, but I can guarrantee it will piss you off.

i believe that too many fanboys are under the belief that THEY run the comic book industry and therefore they think they know what's best for it.

newsflash: Marvel will get more new readers....perhaps some not as bitterly jaded as this current batch which is also has this sense of entitlement that they DESERVE better.

again, newsflash: no one is FORCING them to buy the comic. if it pisses them off that much, then just stop collecting
