Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! If you're already sick of unwrapping gifts and eating turkey, have no fear, as we're here to keep you entertained this Holiday season. As well as a couple of news stories (which, if I've timed them right, should already be up on the site as you read this), we have yet another "End of Year Poll" for you; this time we're asking which comic book series of 2012 was your favourite. To meet the criteria, each of the comic books listed below had to have the same writer throughout the year and be an ongoing series. Of course, it's inevitable that someone's favourite won't have been included here, but you can share those suggestions below and we'll be sure to tally them up when the results are announced on Twitter at some point later this week.

Animal Man (Jeff Lemire)

Aquaman (Geoff Johns)

Batman (Scott Snyder)

Daredevil (Mark Waid)

Green Lantern (Geoff Johns)

Hawkeye (Matt Fraction)

Journey Into Mystery (Kieron Gillen)

Punisher (Greg Rucka)

Swamp Thing (Scott Snyder)

The Walking Dead (Robert Kirkman)

Uncanny X-Force (Rick Remender)

Uncanny X-Men (Kieron Gillen)

Can anyone honestly say they've read all of these titles to make a fair comparison? Dumb poll.

I really enjoyed Batman, but a lot of the credit has to go to Greg Capullo. If it were Greg Land drawing Batman, I don't see Court of Owls being as well received. Batman is just running on all cylinders- even the coloring is top notch IMHO.

Seriously? This list barely covers even half of my monthly pull list. No wonder so many people on here don't seem to know what the hell is going on when we post comic previews!

Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS guys! :)

Scott Snyders Batman. Court of Owls was really good and so far, Death of the Family is shaping up to be great.

Where's' Captain Marvel!?!?

Batman always win,he is one of my my favorite heroes(is in my top 3 along with Spidey and GL),but he always been so awesome and i hate him, sometimes, because of this.
Always the best CBM hero, always the best movie, always the best comic, always the best action figure, always the best cereal...

i am picking Aquaman(i dont like him that much, but the recent comics are really good)

Snyder's Court of the Owls was nearly flawless but Death of the Family just isn't as good, imo. Hawkeye is probably the best mainstream comic there (i say mainstream due to being a Marvel book about an acenger - the script (Fraction) and art (Aja) are anything but), and Marvel Now's Thor is pretty good, quite unconventional in the way it's told with some really good art as well. Still, only 3 issues out, not fair to say best of 2012. Hawkeye def is, out of the options given.

Special mention for Image's "Glory". Very good read. And "Morning Glories".

Batgirl needs to be on this poll. Gail Simone has been fantastic writing that series. But out of these choices I'd go with Batman and Uncanny X-Force a close 2nd

For me, the most original title out of those was Animal Man. It's creepy, it's great storytelling, and you anxiously wait for the next issue, while never knowing exactly what might happen next. So, for me, it's:

1)Animal Man
2)Batman
3)Green Lantern
4)Aquaman

Unfortunately, I couldn't get to read any of the otehr titles. I do find "Daredevil, End of Days" pretty cool too, but since it's a mini series that is still ongoing, I still cant give it a definitive position in the ranking

Damn I'm just gonna list all my favs from this year. Aquaman, Batman, Green Lantern, Ult. Spider-Man(yeah I said it so what), Uncanny/All New X-men, and Walking Dead.

I'm gonna vote Aquaman because most people (including me) counted him as the butt of the jokes in the DC universe, but I've grown to like him and the comic, though Miles follows behind at number 2.

DoodPool
DoodPool - 12/25/2012, 9:30 PM
@JustDame

Saga was REALLY good but i would put it second to Scott Snyder's run on Batman. Snyder's Batman books are modern classics.

Marvel has been doing HORRIBLE on all fronts. The quality of story telling in marvel has been pretty shit since SEIGE ended. The best Marvel i have read are Wolverine and the X Men (feels nostalgic, has the 90s gen x feel to it) and The start of the incredible hulk reboot (great art, great story after years of hulk family bs). Spider man is starting to get good again. But all the x men vs avengers stuff was horrible, hype that went nowhere.

@nomis
Snyder's Swamp Thing is basically just like Moore's, That's why it's great, and Snyder has a great way of working in that style and being original at the same time. But... i don't think his swamp thing run is as important as his Batman Shit...
