i was kind of hoping Damian would die. Love the character - in my top 2 Robins for sure. but i think the stories that come from that (and him inevitably coming back) would just be kick-ass

Previews are like trailers. They're cut up so that things may seem a certain way when it could be something else. Maybe I'm being optimistic but I really hope Alfred makes it through this. I'll be just as hurt as Bruce if he doesn't.

Im guessing he did kill Alfred and cut him up...this will drive and motivate batman further...

BUT we will continue to see Alfred only now it will be a virtual/holographic presence that Wayne feels he needs to have at the Batcave.

and NO they dont kill the Joker... commercially speaking they can still use a virtual Alfred, but Joker always sales so they dont kill him

I honestly feel like its either Alfred's head or his face. I'm leaning more towards his face since that seems to be the Joker's new thing. I'm hoping this story ends with the Joker's brutally violent death at the hands of Bruce. He should stay dead for at least a decade to give this story some meaning.

This is quality storytelling and the art is is fantastic

Kill Alfred I say...DO IT! Whatever the end is Ill support it because like I said before, this team hasn't dissappointed

It's got to be Alfred's limbs. If it's something bigger... Then wow, will this be the biggest shocker in the Batman Universe that LITERALLY will CHANGE EVERYTHING!

Damian dies and Harper Row becomes the new Robin, lol, I hope. Harper will be in the backup for Batman #18.

Just read the issue... it is definitely not what I thought it'd be. Not entirely unguessable but not the "obvious" take I thought it'd be. Actually pretty disappointing :\ Not even pissed... just... let down.

For the last time, the faceless Joker wasn't Scott's idea to begin with. Some other guy started it way back in detective #1 and didn't know where to take the story. Scott was just working with what was there.

I'll go on a limb here... But I think Joker's like...

Well I read the brief synopsis of the batman, nightwings and redhood comics that will be coming out in the next few weeks too. Looks like things should get interesting over the next few weeks.

Yeah it was Scott's idea but the story is great. If you don't get it, you don't know Batman. This fits.

I think it's going to be Alfred's face, he lives but goes through trauma from it. Batman will Kill Joker but with his face being removed there can be teases that he was never dead, since we know nothing about the Dollmaker.I can see in the future we, find out Joker may have pulled a switchero. but expect him to die and Batman deal with his first death on his hands

Just finished reading it and while it was no where near as dramatic as any of us hoped for it to be it is still a really great story with really great dialogue.

Couldn't wait til Wednesday, so just finished reading the scans online. Good story overall, but definitely not the ending that I was expecting. There are going to be quite a few pissed-off folks after reading, myself included, but not going to say anything regarding why until the issue actually drops.

I agree, dial down expectations. Expect to HATE it, so that you will be pleasantly surprised. I noticed w/ the Batgirl DotF conclusion that the ending was disappointing, and now that I know all ALL the spoilers, even the spoiler's spoilers, it's disappointing Snyder and DC couldn't be THAT bold.

alfreds dead and batman will snap jokers neck, maybe more to die so the whole next story arc will be about a batman on the egde of madness... as much as it hurts its the way i would do it, let only one or two of them alive and deal with a broken batman(again)

This comes as a surprise... Just like what happend to Spider-man. Everybody knew that dock.ock was taking over his body and acted surprise when it happend...

The book was not bad at all it just did not end the way everyone wanted it to. I really think the book that will have the most emotional ending will be in batman inc 8.
