SDCC '13: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Footage Description; Electro Destroys Times Square!
Andrew Garfield turned up tp The Amazing Spider-Man 2 panel in costume, but I'm guessing that you're far more interested in hearing about the footage that was shown off, right? Hit the jump for three detailed descriptions which include info on everything from Electro's powers to Norman Osborn's illness!
Andrew Garfield easily outdid his 2011 entrance to the San Diego Comic-Con by coming on stage in full costume as Spider-Man. After a fun in-character Q&A with the audience, the actor departed the stage and some rough footage from The Amazing Spider-Man was shown to those lucky enough to be in attendance. Below are three detailed descriptions. It's fair to say that it sounds...amazing!
Starts with the city. A truck coming down the street. Cops following. Truck plows through barricade. Spider-Man jumping on cop cars. Jumps onto the hood of the truck. Lets himself in. Cut to Peter arguing with his [Aunt May] about doing laundry. Back to the truck. Spider-Man flies down and saves someone. It's Max! Max says he's nobody. Spider-Man assures him that he's not a nobody. He's a somebody. Then he webs the trucker to the center of the street. Max watches Spider-Man in awe. He seems awkward and insecure. He wishes he was like Spider-Man. Gwen says she loves Peter Parker more than Spider-Man. Max climbs into a tube. Gets electrocuted and then falls into a tank full of something swimming. The tank bursts. Next time we see his face, it's glowing under a hood. "You will never be invisible again," Harry (pretty sure) tells him. Max says he wants people to feel what it feels like to live in his world. A world without power. We see him floating and zapping people with his hands. All the lights in Times Square go out and then everything explodes. Spider-Man catches a cop car just before it lands on someone.

"You know what it is I love about being Spider-Man? Everything." Everyone has a part of themselves they hide. Even from the people they love the most." Electro: "Soon everyone will know how it feels to live in my world... a world without Spider-Man. I'm Electro!" WOW. The footage was incredible. Starts out with Rhino in the beginning, being a menace, gets made fun of. Spidey saves Electro before he becomes Electro, intimate moment with him talking with him on the street. Some great shots of Ravencroft and much more. Electro looks like a God, the power comes out of his hands and the final shot is him destroying Times Square. Spidey catches a cop car flying through the air. "Need a hand?" Incredible footage.

Electro got some serious 'dark side' lightning going! There's a great bit where Aunt May is asking Peter about staining a load of laundry with red and blue. "I was washing the flag!" says Peter. Lots of pre-Rhino Rhino. It looks like he's trying to steal Oscorp's formula. Max Dillon gets saved by Spider-Man and is stunned when Spidey knows his name. "I'm a nobody," Max says. Spidey explains that he read his namebage but that no one is a nobody. It looks like Max gets electrocuted at Oscorp and, as he's being shocked, he falls with the live wire into a tank of electric eels. It looks like the OZ formula from the Ultimate comics. We see Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, too, but only in bed, apparently still dying and speaking with his Son.
