Black Manta might be a cool character, but carrying a bathtub sized helmet around looks nothing but stupid.

I can imagine Idris Elba as Black Manta and if Benedict Cumberbatch was ripped he could play Aquaman in a cool way, but both those are fancast cliches sadly

He's pretty cool villain considering how cheesy everything related to Aquaman was for years. WB would mess him up in a movie. They'd never use that huge iconic helmet. We'd get something smaller with the big eye lenses and it would look someone is wearing Archie on their head.

I remember first seeing him with the Legion of Doom on Super Friends. The villains lived in a big Stewie Griffin head with a Vader mask.

Is it just me or does DC have the best villains going on right now?
These guys see an opportunity, i.e. missing heroes, and grab it by the horns and wreck shop!

I say Lennie James for Black Manta. I have four choices for Aquaman Sean Bean, Josh Lucas, Kevin McKidd or Mark Valley.

It is great to see more love for Black Manta. I can't wait to read this issue. I wonder with people starting to like Aquaman comics more if Aquaman will get new Villains. I also would like to see new versions of classic characters like the Fisherman. I think with some reworking he could become a very interesting character. .

Black Manta has been my favorite villain since Aquaman cartoon back in the 70s and then the Legion of Doom with that great deep elector voice. White or black doesn't matter, love the helmet and suit. Really like the new Jack OLantern on the Marvel side too.
