Barry Allen Geeks Out Over The ARROW In New Clip From "The Scientist"

BARRY ALLEN COMES TO STARLING CITY — A seemingly impossible robbery at Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division brings Central City police scientist Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) to town. Citing a similar case back home, Barry offers to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team with the investigation. Oliver senses there is more to Barry than meets the eye, but he’s distracted by the similarities between this current case and something that happened on the island. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) takes a liking to Barry, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Oliver. Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) asks Roy (Colton Haynes) for help when a friend of hers goes missing. Roy is surprised when Thea (Willa Holland) not only encourages him to help, but joins the search. Unfortunately, Sin’s friend is connected to Brother Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro), and their search ultimately gets one of them seriously injured. Michael Schultz directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Geoff Johns.

quasi95 - 12/3/2013, 5:16 PM
I really like that clip, cant wait for wednesday!
Tyrus - 12/3/2013, 5:16 PM
.......................

OK, still not anywhere near "perfect" or even great as people are making him out to be.
Tyrus - 12/3/2013, 5:18 PM
Nonetheless still excited. I can guarantee one reference to Jay Garrick or Wally West, they did that in Smallville.

SuperDude001 - 12/3/2013, 5:31 PM
Don't watch Arrow. This kid seems more Wally Wrst than Barry Allen. Needs to be more Jim Halpert-ish, charming, smart, but less nerd enthusiasm.
mitchybaby - 12/3/2013, 5:33 PM
Pointless apperance if he never suits up
Volthoom - 12/3/2013, 5:33 PM
i like this.
Mrcool210 - 12/3/2013, 5:33 PM
this is our flash? ugh. can't see him as flash in an actual movie
SuperDude001 - 12/3/2013, 5:35 PM
Still confused how this actor could hold his own show...though tbh I still wonder that on Arrow...
JasonBlue - 12/3/2013, 5:40 PM
OK IM SOLD ON HIM AS THE FLASH! He's more like Wally West but whatever...
GageHarts - 12/3/2013, 5:42 PM
I like him. Sadly, I don't see him fitting up on the big screen with Henry Cavill and a seasoned Batman.
He will work for the small screen though! I'm ready for his solo show!
JasonBlue - 12/3/2013, 5:42 PM
Have you guys seen Grant's latest instagram photos? He's BULKED UP! Oh and he's sporting a beard too. I think having Barry be more Wally-ish is a good thing cause you need that geeky-jokestar on the team. He'll be the iron-man to the DCCU
BruceWayneNewton - 12/3/2013, 5:43 PM
I think this clip was much better than the first and all of his confidence and swagger will come once he gets his power. Can't wait to see him suited up!
WeaponX93 - 12/3/2013, 5:47 PM
Could the reference to black gear be a Batman nod? Just saying
soforizo - 12/3/2013, 5:48 PM
@JasonBlue

Link?
ndwwrestler2 - 12/3/2013, 5:48 PM
I think it'll take some time for him to get comfortable in that role.

I thought Amell was meh in the first couple of episodes of Arrow. But he has gotten a lot better and so has the rest of supporting cast.
fortycals - 12/3/2013, 5:49 PM
Not sure what I feel about him, I guess I'll hold my judgement until I see more. I have to remember this is flash before he is actually the flash. No body cares for Peter parker before he got bit by the spider.
soforizo - 12/3/2013, 5:50 PM
This guy is not as bad as I thought, kinda has potential. Not Matt Barr, but might be able to pull it off if he bulks up by the time the pilot shoots/
Tyrus - 12/3/2013, 5:52 PM
I still think CW moving ahead with The Flash pilot is a bad move since the Arrow episodes haven't even aired yet. 2x20 would have been the best way to test The Flash in live-action (properly)... In a way you could say that they chickened out. 2x20 could have been good or bad so they'd rather go do a pilot and wait for the green light.

Seriously, this Flash pilot could be another Wonder Woman.
113 - 12/3/2013, 5:53 PM
This guy CAN'T ACT. Each clip that gets released gets worse and worse.

I'm so happy the cinematic universe is being kept separate from this.
soforizo - 12/3/2013, 5:54 PM
@Tyrus

Yes, regardless what I felt about Gustin getting the job, taking the Flash off really pissed me off. I get how its better for the character and the show if its not burden with Arrow elements in its pilot, but still.
Tyrus - 12/3/2013, 5:59 PM
@113

Exactly.

The cinematic universe being connected to Arrow would be horrific. I don't know why people want Stephen Amell to be in a film - physically he's great in the role of GA, but acting-wise he is terrible.

In reality, however, I believe WB wouldn't want to throw away all these shows so they might connect them anyway...
soforizo - 12/3/2013, 5:59 PM
@113

Opinions aren't facts.
yonny616 - 12/3/2013, 6:03 PM
Didn't they say Leonardo couldn't act back when he was just another "pretty boy"? Grant is doing a fine job, 113.
113 - 12/3/2013, 6:03 PM
@soforizo

No shit Sherlock. Should every statement anyone ever makes be qualified with "in my opinion?"

"In my opinion it is a beautiful day"

"In my opinion blue is the best color"

"In my opinion we should have pizza for lunch"

Okay, go around the world saying that before every subjective statement.
antoineflemming - 12/3/2013, 6:04 PM
He's more like Wally West than Barry Allen... and that's not a good thing.
aRandomSinisterClone - 12/3/2013, 6:07 PM
@superdude, you dont watch Arrow, and you want the flash to be more jim harpert'y from the office. wow
antoineflemming - 12/3/2013, 6:08 PM
If they wanted Wally West they should have just made him Wally West. Barry Allen is more interesting than Wally, has a better story and lore, and wouldn't have ended up being DC's version of TASM's Peter Parker. Unfortunately, this "Barry Allen" is Wally West and is pretty much CW's TASM. And exactly why I don't want this show to be connected to the DCCU. Yes, this Flash is the main reason I don't want him connected. If he were Wally West, I'd be fine with it, but he's supposed to be Barry Allen, and so far he's not.
BruceWayneNewton - 12/3/2013, 6:10 PM
Amell is a great arrow and he does have the acting chops to be in a shared movie. Any problems with his acting on this show stems from the writing.
8thDynasty - 12/3/2013, 6:11 PM
dat boob window doh.
Tyrus - 12/3/2013, 6:16 PM
@batz11

Right there - why do people say he's "bulked up"?

Also that instagram is an example of me hating actors screaming about their roles on social media...
SAZMD - 12/3/2013, 6:19 PM
How is a TV Barry Allen supposed to be? Like the guy in the old Flash TV show? Is there no room to reimagine the character, or combine elements of other characters to make something fun and interesting?
Dev7 - 12/3/2013, 6:20 PM
I hope the producers of the Flash tv series know that he comes out not only in the night but the day as well.
bluedude - 12/3/2013, 6:29 PM
hhhhmmmmm

that's pretty neat
bluedude - 12/3/2013, 6:30 PM
@WeaponX93 you're just reaching
BuckyCap - 12/3/2013, 6:32 PM
Oh, God. That was painful to watch.

He delivers his lines like the band chick from American Pie.
soforizo - 12/3/2013, 6:34 PM
@113

So you know the difference, then spare us from hearing the same shit over and over.
