The site above was discovered at around the 2:07 mark in the recently released trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (1080p versions at least anyway). It's an intriguing addition to the viral campaign, but before you get too excited, it appears as if this is counting down to the recently announced unveiling of new footage from the sequel which will take place in Times Square during the New Year celebrations. Whether this could be an indication that it will be released online simultaneously remains to be seen, but it now seems possible at least!

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Sally Fields as Aunt May

RELEASE DATE: May 2nd, 2014.

JJJameson - 12/11/2013, 1:57 PM
Is it related with The Amazing Spider-Man appearance at the Times Squares festivities for the New Year's Eve? Probably, all I know is that was a good catch by ComingSoon.net and that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is getting some of the most clever and interesting viral marketings I've seen in a while.

McNyagano - 12/11/2013, 1:58 PM

Notice it says Max Dillon Experiment

Harry... what're you up to? Does that mean Electro was not an accident?
CaptainAmerica31 - 12/11/2013, 2:00 PM
Oh yea there is never before seen footage that will premier at time square on New Years. This site didn't report on it I don't think.
TheDpool - 12/11/2013, 2:01 PM
So kind of pointless? Looking forward to this movie though
GliderMan - 12/11/2013, 2:06 PM
Wait, what? Someone explain this to me
ibravosp5 - 12/11/2013, 2:07 PM
Either it's electro arriving at something at New Years or it's another video that shows a good bit of the movie spoiling at least 20-30% of the movie
Tyrus - 12/11/2013, 2:11 PM
You know, for a film that I really don't give a shit about because it shouldn't exist in the first place, these viral campaigns are getting on my damn nerves for being pointless.
SoapDogg - 12/11/2013, 2:11 PM
I've searched the trailer around the 2:07 mark as stated above and I cannot figure out where they saw this in the trailer. Has anybody else found it? I know the link is above, I'm just curious to see it in the trailer.
SoapDogg - 12/11/2013, 2:14 PM
I enjoy all the viral marketing. It's just a little something extra. To you guys that hate these movies so much, why do you even click on the article links? I mean, you already know ahead of time that you're not going to like what you see, right?
Spideyshawn - 12/11/2013, 2:15 PM
New footage at Times Square on New Years nice smart promo also.

So he's basically gonna turn in to Electro like Arnie turned into Mr. Freeze back in "Batman and Robin." Watch, those electric eels will be the radioactive spider to Electro's origin story.
SoapDogg - 12/11/2013, 2:17 PM
@cipher

cipher - 12/11/2013, 2:25 PM
EmoSpidey- Heh, your avatar cracks me up, man.

cipher - 12/11/2013, 2:26 PM

SoapDogg - 12/11/2013, 2:29 PM
@cipher

Haha! Thanks dude.
MyInnerDork - 12/11/2013, 2:39 PM
SuperHero Hype found this URL in the trailer and you're not even gonna give them the credit? That's shady when SHH gives CBM credit when credit is due.

My view of CBM continues to fall because your "reporting ethics" are continuing to get worse and worse.

@yossarian
If you wanted us to think you were retarded all you had to do was tell us, it would have saved you a lot of time
theowl - 12/11/2013, 3:53 PM
Please don't be a 7 minutes preview of the movie that spoils everything.
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 3:54 PM
@yossarian no your retarded dumb story is how you are retarded whether you like the franchise or not has nothing to do with it unless we are talking about how retarded it is for someone who hates the franchise to click and review the related articles then I guess I could say yes. Looks like you are all sorts of retarded lol
valeriesghost - 12/11/2013, 4:18 PM
punctuation, dude ^^^^
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 4:19 PM
@yossarian negative comments are fine but your comment was again retarded, it was one of the dumbest comments I have read on here.
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 4:20 PM
@valeries lol

Harry in TASM2 is like a hipster version of Chris from Kick-Ass.
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 4:38 PM
@yossarian I'm guessing it would be a called a toilet shit burp, only because I don't know if it can be summed up in one word
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 4:48 PM
@yossarian one again it was the whole post which was more than just a question you told a dumbass story with it, oh and there are things that are comprised of more than one word to describe something. "Nice chat" I'm glad you got something out of it I felt like I was talking to a retarded monkey
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 4:49 PM
Soooooo back to the article........
ATviciousvalenti9 - 12/11/2013, 4:51 PM
Sony should have bit the bullet and paid to use Kingpin in this current version of Spidey Flix. All this Oscorp did everything seems to forced. Its okay for some of the Ultimate stuff to be used but you gotta mix in some OG storylines. The Venom being made by OScorp too is gonna be overboard. Guarantee we get a Venom story birthed in this movie.
cjspade - 12/11/2013, 5:22 PM
@at I agree to a point, to bad marvel doesn't have all the rights could have had a back story of the secret wars, but since we already know the symbiot will be created at oscorp as long as they make venom the as you said the OG version and do him justice I'm ok with that, maybe get brock lesner to be Eddie Brock....I could see Jim Carrey as Cletus still for carnage
MrCameron - 12/11/2013, 5:49 PM
Okay, I've been thinking a lot about how Norman is dying in this movie lately and Harry it seems sort of has an antagonistic role in this and it made me wonder, what if Norman found a way to transfer his conscience into Harry after her died so that he can continue his work in a new body? It's crazy I know, but just seems to get more and more plausible.

As for the actual article himself, I agree with others that maybe Electro could be making an appearance at the New Years Eve festivities at Times Square.
