The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Best movie of 2013. Smaug was [frick]ing fantastic.

Bomber was surprisingly a highlight.

Almost every character is fleshed out enough for you to really care for them.

As a huge fan of unexpected journey, this was a major improvement.

And dare I say... Taruiel might be better than Legolas.

@MrCBM56 Taruiel was by far better than Legolas. I like the way Peter Jackson exploited Legolas talents & strengh in this movie compared to the other films. Great movie!
