so true

This movie took way to many liberties. By far the worst so far. Can't wait for the single movie "The Hobbit" cut.
MagicStingRay - 12/19/2013, 1:11 PM
God I loved this movie. Felt like a good mix in tone between LOTR and The Hobbit AUJ

Mine's Blast from the Past. The fact that my girlfriend hates it so f*cking much makes it better.

F*ck's wrong with Blast from the Past? Christopher Walken nearly has a panic attack at the sight of a porn shop.

How is that NOT awesome?

The Smaug scene at the end was the only truly interesting thing in the film for me. He was an intense villain and Cumberbatch projected something amazing with his voice work.

Best thing so far in the new movies next to Gollum.

I loved the first one but I loved this one even more!

"Smaug was underwhelming"

Huh? What? That seems to be a small minority opinion. To each their own, but I thought Smaug was done exceptionally well.
dmm5 - 12/19/2013, 4:49 PM
Why the comparison? LotR books are far more dark and mature than The Hobbit... It's a fun movie, just sit back enjoy mo-fos!!!
whoa123 - 12/19/2013, 5:41 PM
I LOVED this movie!

@dmm5 People don't know how to have fun any more it's like they sit there with the book and nit pick. They do the same with comic book movies.

They wine and bitch in there popcorn and we get peaces of shit like amazing spider-ass and x-men first ass.

See it this weekend i hope and will love every minet of it like the first movie and lord of the ring movies.

26th is going so slow, i wanna see this film so bad. Why did Australia have to get it so late. Should have got it the same as New Zealand....bloody Kiwi's! Whoops I am a Kiwi!
NinjaKickTheDamnRabbit - 12/19/2013, 8:57 PM
I cant stand the CGI orc's. They look out of place. LotR orcs look so much better because 90% of the time they were makeup and costume, not the other way around. Smaug was fantastic though, also Manu proves he is awesome even as just a voice.
ManOfKrypton - 12/20/2013, 1:15 AM
""Smaug was underwhelming" You've got to be kidding me right? I thought Smaug was freaking awesome!!!! Benedict Cumberbatch nailed the voice!
FerFogs - 12/20/2013, 4:46 AM
I'm a Tolkien fanatic but haven't watched it yet. Yeah, I was disappointed by the 1st. Might watch it next week.
MightyZeus - 12/20/2013, 6:03 AM
I'm glad it's number one. I'm looking forward to watching this film.

Finally saw this last night and thought it was fantastic. I'd say the first 20-30 minutes felt awkwardly paced, which leads me to believe that's where most of the extended material will be.

But that [frick]ing cliffhanger! DAMN! That pissed me and the whole audience off!

It was not unlike this guy's reaction:
