Marvel have released a number of preview pages from Charles Soule (Swamp-Thing, Thunderbolts) and Javier Pulido's (Amazing Spider-Man, Hawkeye) She-Hulk #1. Needless to say, this looks like it might be one of 2014's best titles! Check it out.

JENNIFER WALTERS IS … THE SHE-HULK! A stalwart Avenger, valued member of the FF, savior of the world on more than one occasion, she’s also a killer attorney with a pile of degrees and professional respect. A 7-foot-tall drink of cool, emerald water, she’s tough enough to knock out Galactus with one punch (possibly?) and has a heart bigger than the moon. But juggling cases and kicking bad guy butt is starting to be a little more complicated than she anticipated. With a new practice, a new paralegal and a mounting number of super villains she’s racking up as personal enemies, She Hulk might have bitten off a little more than she can chew…but she just calls that that Tuesday.

SHE-HULK #1
Written by CHARLES SOULE
Pencils by JAVIER PULIDO
Cover by KEVIN WADA

nonserviam - 12/31/2013, 5:58 PM
My 10yr old draws better comics in his 5th grade art class.
kevberg - 12/31/2013, 5:59 PM
and ,.. to be fair...the only thing that looks okay/good are the compositions of the shots.
mctrinket - 12/31/2013, 6:05 PM
Da fug? What six year old at Marvel is hiring these artists?
OxnardMontalvo - 12/31/2013, 6:11 PM
no, simply no.
JustDame - 12/31/2013, 6:38 PM
Looks like a mixture of mike allred and marcos Martin! Pretty cool. I might check it out. Especially because of Charles Soule. He's becoming one of my favorite writers.
nld3 - 12/31/2013, 6:40 PM
Whats with the crappy art trend at marvel. These guys all draw this style, David Aja, Michael Alred, Daid Lopez, jacob wyatt. javier rodriguez Jefte Palo
nailbiter111 - 12/31/2013, 6:45 PM
kevberg - Glad you pointed out the composition. It is the one good thing about the artwork.
ThePowerCosmic - 12/31/2013, 6:46 PM
Looks like it could be another classic like Waids Daredevil and the awesome Hawkeye series. Who knows.

This won't be everybody's bag but I'm glad Marvel is exploring this more independent comic look. Some of you need to open your mind a bit....there are more styles of comic art than Jim Lee. He has technique but no soul.
Havensent - 12/31/2013, 6:50 PM
Love Pulido's art. I think I'll check this out.

Watch this go on to be one of the hot new "IT" comics.
BritishMonkey - 12/31/2013, 6:59 PM
Those are some scary faces I have to say.
AlternateNo4 - 12/31/2013, 6:59 PM
@fangz & intruder (yeah, i'm on your side this time haha)
you got class. and you know what's up.

this art is DESIGN art. this isn't about filling a page with lines and hatching and impressing people with your realism. it's about communicating. the point is to convey a message while using as LITTLE ink as possible... the more ink, the more there is standing between the viewer and the message.

this is good. don't think it would be good for GL but i'll take him on WW or supes any day.

Like FF's artwork, old school stuff. Rather that than Lee's 90s looking BS
ThePowerCosmic - 12/31/2013, 7:16 PM
Haven

Agreed!
SimonM7 - 12/31/2013, 7:16 PM
I really can't stand Pulido's art either. I llllove Mike Allred. I lllove minimalist Samnee and Aja. I just can't do this. Maybe if it was inked better, but it just looks like an amateur made it. I can sincerely say I'd do better myself.
WhiteBolt - 12/31/2013, 7:18 PM
@Shaq

Jim Lee is a god among men.
AlternateNo4 - 12/31/2013, 7:22 PM
@womb hm. well, to each his own... i'm just glad you're not one of my clients!
dicktrickle - 12/31/2013, 7:38 PM
I'm starting to think I could work at Marvel.
Shaq - 12/31/2013, 7:42 PM
@TheHeat didn't know God had no idea what anatomy was
ThePowerCosmic - 12/31/2013, 7:51 PM
TheHeat

Jim Lee draws most men and women with the same body type. Not much variation in his work. I like his stuff but he is highly overrated.
dellamorte1872 - 12/31/2013, 8:00 PM
she never struck me as a shaver more of a landing strip.
cosmicman - 12/31/2013, 8:21 PM
looks fn horrible. sure to last ten issues at 20k each.
Demongod20 - 12/31/2013, 8:55 PM
shangho - 12/31/2013, 9:11 PM
Is Marvel just making every book look like crappy 60's pulp these days?
Melkaticox - 12/31/2013, 9:28 PM
Mmmmm, what a sexy cov--

AAAAAAAAAHH!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! THE ART!! OH GOD THE ART!! KILL IT WITH THE FLAMES OF HELL!!!
What a way to start 2014.
Melkaticox - 12/31/2013, 9:28 PM
@shangho Nah, just the low-budget ones.
ds9epicfan - 12/31/2013, 10:01 PM
Javier Pulido isn't right for She-Hulk!Frank Cho is better suited to draw the character!Pulido is more suited for a Hawkeye or Dr.Strange,at least for me!
kevberg - 12/31/2013, 10:11 PM
@altno4---no , to pulido its waayyyayy more important to draw the wrinkle lines in peoples necks than a decent nose or more than one point perspective you learn in a basic middle school art class.
Quexul - 12/31/2013, 10:40 PM
Gotta hell of a lot of Clement Greenbergs in the house. Go back to Rob Liefeld.
AUSSYACE - 12/31/2013, 11:01 PM
This is just BAD BAD BAD ART AND EVERYTHING...

This below is way better...

gaikinger - 12/31/2013, 11:29 PM
It's like a bad issue of Heavy Metal
DTor91 - 1/1/2014, 12:25 AM
Yeah, not a fan of the work here. She-Hulk has rarely ever had A-list artists. The storytelling here is fine but the art style here is not my cup of tea. There's quite a few mistakes too (that last panel really bothers me, feet on borders is usually a big no-no in comics.) And I just realized three other panels are like that. That second page is flat out boring. A talking heads page can be interesting of you vary the angles and play with the camera. I don't know what Dan Panosian is doing now but he'd be great for this.

@nonserviam
Let's not get carried away now. No disrespect to your child, he/she can probably do amazing things artistically in the future. But a 10 year old will draw like a 10 year old. I drew a ton when I was 10 as well. This guy knows his perspective. This guys knows how to draw buildings. I've never come across a 10 year old that can do that. He/ she would have to be a legitimate prodigy.

@AUSSYACE
That cover artist didn't do the interiors. Just like the cover artist on this new one. She-Hulk tends to have great covers, but weak interiors.
Humperdink - 1/1/2014, 12:32 AM
The compositions are pretty on point, but I think Allred does this very tricky style much better.

I'm also not a big fan of the new 'low-hairline' She-Hulk.
