COMICS: New Preview Page From WOLVERINE #1 Seemingly Reveals That Logan Loses His Claws

Wolverine is without a healing factor thanks to the events of "Killable", but is he also set to lose his claws? That could be why we've seen him armed with a gun in artwork from an upcoming relaunch, and a preview seemingly indicates that Logan will also be using prosthetic claws! What?!

After the events of KILLABLE, Wolverine has something to prove. Before he can take on Sabretooth again, he’ll need to build himself back up, get better and stronger than he’s ever been…but it’s not as easy as he thought, and he’ll soon find himself turning to other means of revenge when the normal channels don’t seem to be working fast enough. Can he fight back his demons, or is this the beginning of a Wolverine who’s gone to the dark side?

I'm not sure if Marvel can ever make Wolverine cool again at this point. They blew it way too many times.
NovaCorpsFan - 1/1/2014, 1:47 PM
... I don't like this...
InfiniteMonkey - 1/1/2014, 1:48 PM

JordanKing - 1/1/2014, 1:48 PM

supermarioworldE - 1/1/2014, 1:53 PM
Gimmicks, Gimmicks, Gimmicks.
BlackRobin98 - 1/1/2014, 1:54 PM
Without his healing, he can't use his claws bc without his rapid healing, he would bLEED out!!
His claw system is an injury making mechanic - on him - way b4 the bad guy's
BenjiWest - 1/1/2014, 1:57 PM
Nice Shredder pic. RIP James Avery, Shredders' voice.
DTor91 - 1/1/2014, 1:57 PM
I haven't read anything Wolverine recently, but I had seen some art with this costume but with his normal claws. I'm guessing he still has them, but I think the case is exactly what @BlackRobin98 said. Also, I thought people knew this already. The pencils for this were released months ago. Follow Ryan Stegman, he's posted it on just about every social network.

Wolverine was cool before Quesadilla came in and [frick]ed him up... Thanks, Origin.
ds9epicfan - 1/1/2014, 1:59 PM
As long as Disney controls Marvel,Wolverine will never be allowed to go back to his old roots of being a violent bad-ass!And I noticed since Disney bought Marvel that they've toned down the character even more! What a shame!
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 1/1/2014, 2:00 PM
@BenjiWest That's right! He did voice Shredder huh? I'm a 90's kid, I always remembered him as Uncle Phil and War Machine on Iron Man.
ManCalledSting - 1/1/2014, 2:00 PM
I'm thinking he wears those claws, so he doesn't have to pop out his claws, since he has no healing factor.
Darkknight23 - 1/1/2014, 2:04 PM
Sigh...
Firgosaurus - 1/1/2014, 2:07 PM
Can this character just go away.
ManCalledSting - 1/1/2014, 2:12 PM
^^^^no, but you can.
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 1/1/2014, 2:13 PM
I don't like this. But nice dynamic cover.
Lizardking310 - 1/1/2014, 2:17 PM
Marvel=gimmicks. This seems pretty dumb
Nomis - 1/1/2014, 2:17 PM
Back in the day ('70s -'80s) Wolverine "claws" was NOT bones but added on to his adamantium skeleton by the Weapon X program.

It wasn't the late '90s after magneto pulled his adamantium skeleton out of him that they discovered they were part of his skeleton.
DEVLIN712 - 1/1/2014, 2:18 PM
So... Who's gonna take them away? Sabertooth? Cyclops' new brotherhood?
Firgosaurus - 1/1/2014, 2:18 PM
Can Oldgreg just fvck off.
Geotheleo - 1/1/2014, 2:21 PM
They need to kill him off, do a lion king kind of story, kill him off in a way that sticks to the reader, have his son take his place or something
jTiso - 1/1/2014, 2:22 PM
How can Rick Remender write him so well and everyone else just drops the ball?
V8ER - 1/1/2014, 2:28 PM
Quesadilla [frick]ed everybody up
dpunkjrocksm - 1/1/2014, 2:31 PM
Obviously setting up for his big death in September, and eventually bring him back and giving him back is healing factor and claws.
staypuffed - 1/1/2014, 2:32 PM
Losing his claws?
Getting that ridiculous costume?
Marvel are definitely killing him off.
LikeAPhoenix - 1/1/2014, 2:35 PM
I'm so sick and tired of Wolverine and Batman. These over-rated and over-exposed characters should go away already.
Nomis - 1/1/2014, 2:37 PM
If any of you are Tired of WOLVERINE (and any other comic book character) THAN STOP READING COMICS!!!

They were here BEFORE most of you were born..and they'll be here after you are gone!
charlie2094 - 1/1/2014, 2:38 PM
Well we wouldn't really use them without his healing factor, saw this coming...

Haven't read any Wolverine stories for a while, only older titles, which is a shame...
pointman - 1/1/2014, 2:38 PM
I remember when he was my favorite character. Back in the day when he was a mystery. The below the radar underdog that didn't take crap from anybody and could deliver a butt whuppin to someone twice his size. Now they have an actor that towers over everyone playing him and have wussified him. Cap is now my fav and seems to be doing well in the butt kicking dept.
rabid - 1/1/2014, 2:43 PM
There's nothing wussified about Wolverine. It's called character growth. Because you'd think a man who had lived a century and a half might learn a few things along the way.
The only reason he was so primal and pissed off for so long was because of his missing memories. They showed the audience those memories over a slow period of 20 years, so what's the point of putting him right back where he started? He's still a badass. He still kills. But now he can use the experiences of several lifetimes to be a better hero.
thewolfx - 1/1/2014, 2:45 PM
@Oldgreg

Good job tell that moron off .. wolverine is the [frick]in man

Still hate that suit tho .. lame x motif
storyteller - 1/1/2014, 2:45 PM
Well without his healing factor, Wolverine would be seriously bleeding out every time he pops his claws and he's not replacing it fast enough.

His best weapon is killing him. So the first thing to do is replace the weapon.
ds9epicfan - 1/1/2014, 2:48 PM
@intruder
I understand your point but it wasn't what I was referring to.I know it's been years and years of pacifying the Wolverine character in comics probably since Magneto messed him up,but what I was saying is even if the fans want the old 'the best at what he does' Wolverine,Disney will NEVER allow it since they have an image to uphold!Just an opinion.Well,I'll throw the question to you...Do you think Wolverine will ever go back to his roots of 70's & 80's tough as nails kinda of guy era as long as Disney is holding the leash?
pointman - 1/1/2014, 2:51 PM
My problem is that Mr. best there is at what he does, super spy, martial arts expert, ninja, soldier gets his butt handed to him in every movie he is in.
MrDonut - 1/1/2014, 2:52 PM
Awful, just awful. Guess Marvel really like [frick]ing over the characters that really made them famous... First Spider-Man, now Wolverine? Who's next Hulk?
sinsear912 - 1/1/2014, 3:00 PM
Revealing his origin made sense, how long can a guy go without know whohe is?
sinsear912 - 1/1/2014, 3:01 PM
Nomis hit the nail on the damn head!
Space - 1/1/2014, 3:02 PM
hmm, I don't know what to say, but I like the cover.
SimpleeComplex - 1/1/2014, 3:03 PM
@intruder hit it on the head. I have the comic where Magneto ripped out Logan's adamantium. I gotta say it left a huge impact on me. It really showed Logan's mortality and geounded him. Because attrition is no use when a normal mortal mutant with incredible power like Magneto can rip you to shreds in minutes before you can wear him out. That was the moment i lost interest in Wolverine and realized Magneto was the true badass. Wolverine's healing factor even burned itself out tryig to recover. The character has been on a downward spiral since. I myself liked Wolverine Origins cuz i'm an origin fan. I like origins period. But I think it further "pussified" the character. I mean c'mon he's now little "James Howlett" Nd we now know why he always is obsessed with redheads loll!! Then big screen Wolverine hit and solidified his pussy status once we saw him tame and crying in living flesh. I thought there was a glimmer of hope with Uncanny X-force like others mentioned but that didn't happen. I think he should either be killed off (for how long) or patch things up with Cyke reverting bim back to boyscout and Logan back lackey-killing machine.
